As much as I love reading the political bashing threads, and posting a response when I get the courage to do it, I think it's time for something fun and relaxing. So, what are you plans for the long weekend? Anything fun? I'm helping my wife with a couple of gigs tomorrow, she's a freelance harpist, and then I plan on just taking it easy. I'd like to go to either Battleship Cove , or my other though is to go to the Newport Mansions. So, let's have some fun...who's next?

I do enjoy the bashing threads, but I have to research what subject I am going to choose for a ten page paper! I am breezing through my math class, but the writing one is turning out to be more traumatic than I thought! :earseek: So once I finish my homework.....

I want to go to an Arts Festival, bike ride and hang out and go to dinner with my SO. :sunny:

We are just going to hang close to home and enjoy some good BBQ and thankful to spend time together. :goodvibes

I work Saturday but Sunday we are going to Ribfest I think. None of us really like ribs but I assume they will have other bbq too. Hootie and the Blowfish are playing. :cool1: I hope Darius plays that dorky Burger King song. :rotfl: :lovestruc

I am going to see the Rollings Stones in concert this weekend. Going down tonight and then going to the concert tomorrow all day, there are 5 bands including the Stones. I can't wait, it is going to be quite an adventure as there are going to be over 80,000 people there. All in the city of Moncton, in the little province of New Brunswick, on the East Coast of Canada.

My mom and sister are coming from Missouri to visit. They need R & R. We are going to limit the TV and try and refocus.
I feel guilty for saying that but we have some family issues going on along with this stuff and we have to take a mental health break.

We are going camping - in our garage! We just bought a tent and want to do a dry run - so we are going to set it up in our garage and let the kids play in it on Saturday and Sunday. We will sleeping in our house, tho! On sat we are thinking of cooking out, and I have marshmallows to roast. ;)

We are going on a week long cruise. I actually feel extremely guilty for continuing with our plan after everything going on. But, 13 of us have paid and we would lose a ton of money if we did not go. I donated a little more to the red cross and took that money out of my spending budget. I have called the hotel (in Galveston) and told them to let me know if they need my room tomorrow night and we will drive down on Sunday.

**I want to live in BS's neighborhood!**

My brother, and his family are coming to help us fix the back sill of our farmhouse. It will be a lovely time! Then we will have the annual "egg shoot". Messy and fun.

Monday we will be replacing my mom's water heater.

I am really looking forward to being at the farm for the weekend. There is no contact with the outside world, and that sounds blissfully pleasant. It is my own little trip into denial about the mess the world is in.

We are having my neice and nephew overnight to keep my son company and to give my sister a bit of a break (she still will have the 5 week old though)

other then that, we are doing ABSOLUTLY NOTHING!!!! We came home last Sat from 10 days in WDW, and this weekend is going to be a total "sit around and do nothing" weekend. (I do have a feeling that some house cleaining will be involved though)

Yes, altho heavyhearted from all the depressive tragedy news,
God willing and the creek don't rise, our life does go on.

:bday: party for my DH and a cookout for our son who is bound for Ft Carson. :moped:

well, I am going to be painting, packing to move, and doing some "studying" before school starts on Wednesday!! sounds fun huh!!

As guilty as I feel, I'm still going to take my kids up to the North Ga mountains for a little R & R. We gave to the RC, and when we get back we'll be involved in more fund-raising. But for now, they needs a break :dog2:

Saturday - teaching EMT students & Pop Warner football game with my son

Sunday - Work + MDA Boot Drive for Jerry's Kids.

We ( my great aunt, grandmother, aunt, mother, 1st and 2nd cousin and myself and my two oldest kids, DH is NOT a camper!) are camping in southern Indiana for the long weekend. No TV and No radios. We all need a mental health break. This feels just like 9/11 and my two oldest kids are very concerned and asking so many questions but how do you explain a hurricane of such proportion to kids. I just tell them God never left, He was there with those families the whole time but Mother Nature needed to clean out her pipes. So now we come together and help out any way we can. For us its donating money to red cross and bottled water, diapers and formula to our local drives who are shipping out. It helps to know we are doing something, but again its all after the fact.

And yes, as another poster said on a different thread those folks did choose to live there but many of us choose to live in the midwest where tornadoes and drought and floods are common place and yet we are still here. Can you imagine if we all moved to the coasts, Caifornia would fall off into the ocean! Or what if we all took off for Canada, look out west nile virus.....heres about a billion more folks for you to infect. Bottom line, there is no perfect place to reside from disaster so we live where our families, heritage and history lays and we keep truckin' on! ok off my soap box. Sorry

dont have to go to work today, so hopefully finishing my homework..
then tomorrow i am drving up to my friends in pennsylvania and we are going to see tim mcgraw in concert

Tonight it'll be dinner with the kids from the dorm floor that aren't going home for the weekend, and probably going to the karaoke to watch our RA's and other kids make fools of themselves. And knowing who will be singing tonight, it should be fun. Tomorrow probably some homework, mom's coming to visit for a couple hours, more homework than watching The Longest Yard (with Adam Sandler) out under the stars on one of the lawns here on campus with some friends from the floor and a roommate, plus pigging out on cotton candy that's going to be handed out in the dorm. Sunday will be mega homework time, as will Monday. Tonight I'll have my room to myself :cool1: for the first time since I got here a week ago. The rest of the weekend I'll only have one other roommate. Hopefully I'll get some sleep this weekend too.

I am thinking about going to Borders for some books (BTW, I posted a 30% off coupon on the Budget Board), going through my ebay totes in the garage to get organized, getting auctions together for Mon night...sadly that's it...it's pretty boring around here LOL.
