Finished Girl in Translation by Jean Kwok. Has anyone read this one?
I have not but it's at the top of my "buy as soon as out in paperback" list. Did you like it?

Since my last post...am highly recommending "Good Omens" if you enjoy Dark comedy. And Jasper Fforde's "Thursday Next" series for truly escapist lit.
And for more, slightly darker escapist series...can't go wrong with Stephen King's "Dark Tower!"![]()
I just couldn't get in to "Animal, Vegetable, Miracle" by Barbara Kingsolver. It just didn't catch me, and make me want to read it. So, I've shelved it for now.
Definitely not as good as the first one, but it got better as I read on.I really liked Girl in Translation. It reminded me of an adult version of one of my favorite children's books, In the Year of the Boar and Jackie Robinson by Bette Bao Lord.
I just tried reading Stranger in the Family. Ugh. I barely got through it.
Right now I'm reading Nanny Returns, by the authors of The Nanny Diaries. It's not grabbing me yet.
