I just started One Day by David Nicholls. I'm not far into it but I love the premise.

I just finished Heart of the Matter by Emily Giffin. I enjoyed it but didn't love it. I'm ready to LOVE a book.

I'm reading "Whip It" by Shauna Cross. It's the basis of the Drew Barrymore movie. It started a bit slow, but is picking up. Next on deck is the new Emily the Strange book, I think, unless a non-fiction book turns up in my library list.

I'm currently reading Putting on the Dog by Cynthia Baxter. Her books are so enjoyable to me, cozy mysteries.

Since my last post...am highly recommending "Good Omens" if you enjoy Dark comedy. And Jasper Fforde's "Thursday Next" series for truly escapist lit.

And for more, slightly darker escapist series...can't go wrong with Stephen King's "Dark Tower!" popcorn::

I just couldn't get in to "Animal, Vegetable, Miracle" by Barbara Kingsolver. It just didn't catch me, and make me want to read it. So, I've shelved it for now.

I'm now reading Nora Ephron's "I Don't Like My Neck." Highly enjoyable essays about women getting older in today's society. I really like it!

After that is "Writing Jane Austen By Elizabeth Aston

I have been reading Suzanne Brockmann's Tall Dark and Dangerous series......hot hot hot on a steamy summer night:):)

Then onto hmmmmmmm either J R Wards Black Dagger Brotherhood series, Brockmann's Troubleshooter series or rereading Outlander.....decisions decisions.......

Reading books that make me smile LOL

Finished The Last Song by Nicholas Sparks. Simple read, very predictable.

Started Winter Garden by Kristen Hannah on the recommendation of someone on this thread!

I just finished The Book of Fred. I believe it's in the young adult category, but pretty good. It's about a girl who is being raised in a cult and her parents are on trial for refusing medical care for two of their sons who died. The girl goes to a foster home and lives a different lifestyle for a while. It's touching.

I loved Good Omens. I heard Terry Prachett has some rare form of Alzheimer's. So sad.

I really liked Girl in Translation. It reminded me of an adult version of one of my favorite children's books, In the Year of the Boar and Jackie Robinson by Bette Bao Lord.

I just tried reading Stranger in the Family. Ugh. I barely got through it.

Right now I'm reading Nanny Returns, by the authors of The Nanny Diaries. It's not grabbing me yet.

I'm starting Doomwyte by Brian Jacques. His books are good to cozy up to on a lazy day.

Definitely not as good as the first one, but it got better as I read on.

Just recently finished Water for Elephants and I'm looking forward to the movie next year. Also finished Sara's Key. Another good book. Right now, I'm reading The Girl With a Dragon Tatoo, no opinions yet as I'm only on chapter 2. I really want to read the Charlaine Harris vampire books, but I haven't been able to find the first book in the series.

just started reading "Tip It" by Maggie Griffin (mother of comedianne Kathy Griffin) - really funny so far!:rotfl:

My Name is Memory by Ann Brashares. It is taking me some time to get into it though.
