I just started Grave Surprise by Charlaine Harris.

To Your Scattered Bodies Go by Philip Jose Farmer. I am re-reading this, its the first book in a series.

I found these books incredibly interesting, in a nutshell its about a place, Riverworld, where people are resurrected. Some famous people show up in the books, like Sir Richard Burton, Alice Hargreaves (the basis of Alice in Wonderland), Samuel Clemens, King John of England, Tom Mix, Mozart, Jack London, Lothar von Richthofen and Hermann Göring.

I can't really describe how awesome the books are, hopefully a couple of you will give them a try.

I just finished A Breath of Snow & Ashes in the Outlander series. I saw the reviews here on the DIS for Outlander, and have been reading the books until last night. I thought it was a really good story.

I wish I had liked them; I usually adore books full of historic detail (Pillars of the Earth is one of my favorite books of all time).

I'm going to start The Blue Zone by Andrew Gross tomorrow. My sister is going for her first chemo and radiation treatment and they told her to plan on being there for 11 hours for the first appointment. I figure I'll have a lot of time to read when I can't sit with her.

I just finished Shelter Me by Juliette Fay. I can't tell you how much I loved this book. I wanted to call into work to finish reading it. I stayed up until 3 am. It has humor, heartbreak, warmth. I laughed out loud and I sobbed so hard I needed four tissues. I LOVED this book.
I immediately went online to find other books by this author, and I was crushed to find that this was her first book. What?!? How can a newbie author write characters so well that they suck you in and make you think about them long after you have finished reading the book? She's writing another one apparently, but not fast enough!

I read this book awhile ago. I absolutely LOVED it! For the first time I started to read a book a second time immediately after I finished it because it was so good that I read through it too fast the first time and I knew there had to be things I missed the first time. I have been looking her up every few weeks on amazon to see if she had a new one out yet.

I just finished Winter Garden by kristen Hannah. I love her writing. This was a great book.

Can anyone recommend authors or books similar to these two that are good?

Recently started Handle With Care by Jodi Picoult. It is good so far, although it reminds me of My Sister's Keeper with the way it is written.

Prior to that I read In Her Shoes. Good book, but I enjoyed Certain Girls better, which was the first book I read by Jennifer Weiner.

This sounds interesting. Can you give me all the titles in order? Thanks.

I just finished the The Third Kiss: Dorian's Dream, and I'll start next on the Girl with the Dragon Tatoo.

I'm currently reading Twilight, as we have the first two movies here & I never read the books. I'm on the 10th chapter & it's getting really interesting.

House Rules by Jodi Picoult. Can't put it down.

We have very similar taste, because I love Kristen Hannah too.

Another author I love is Anita Shreve. I went through her whole shelf at the library. My favorite was Fortune's Rocks. At first I was a little shocked by the subject matter, but I really got into it. Then I read Body Surfing and I loved the way those two books tie together even though they were set almost a century apart. Let me know what you think of her books if you end up reading any of them!

"Getting Old is Criminal " by Rita Lakin. It's a hoot!

I just finished reading "Firefly Lane" by Kristen Hannah. It was so good. I want to start another one of her books. Not heavy reading but it sure sucked me in!

I loved The Book Thief by Markus Zusak so much that I went looking for another book by this author, so I started I am the Messenger by Markus Zusak.

Changes the most recent Dresden Files book, which just came out yesterday. Blue At the Mizzen from the Aubrey/Maturin series is on the iPod.

Just finished "The Choice" by Nicholas Sparks. I usually love his books but this one was.. only ok.

Need to find something on Audible.com - I'm all out of audiobooks!

Stolen Innocence about a girl who lived in a polygamous sect and was forced into marriage by Warren Jeffs.

Big Love fans will enjoy this book. Er, not that this poor girl's life was enjoyable, but that it gives you another look at the FLDS lifestyle.

I read Stolen Innocence last year. It was really interesting and sad at the same time. You might enjoy Under the Banner of Heaven by John Krakauer, it’s also about FLDS.

I’m currently reading The Last Song by Nicholas Sparks. I needed something light after reading Eating Animals by Jonathan Safran Foer.
