Hey All

So we are heading to WDW in September renting a 1 bedroom at OKW and were not going to do any dinners at restaurants, My DW wants to go to Ohana and with free dinning there is no avaiable ADRs for our intire stay, what are the chances that we can get a walk up for any time between 4:30 and 6:30 anyday? DO they keep s certain number of seats open for wolk ups?
I usually make my ADR's as soon as we are able too so this is a whole new experience for me.

Any tips that may make it easier? If it is going to be a 2 hour wait can i roam the resort and just checke back in with them occassionaly?

Thanks in advance for your help

Honesly, never done walk up but others suggested that you should be in line for walk-up little before the restuarant opens... I think 5pm. I heard that WDW restaurants don't keep any seats for walk-ups so you might have to wait. I don't think you should get out of lobby area while waiting since they are not going to look for you and if you are not there, next waiting party gets the seat. But good luck and keep checking that ADR!

I've never done a walk-up myself, and am also trying to get into Ohana's for our Aug 25 trip. What people have told me is to check with your front desk as early as possible each morning, to see if anyone has cancelled. You could check throughout the day too if passing through the lobby, when people can cancel their reservation cause its getting in the way of their touring.

I'm going to go with that plan and hopefully score a slot at Ohanas! Good luck to you and your family too!

Keep checking. We are going in two weeks and I just got a dinner ressie at 'Ohana for a party of 6 at 5:15. Cancellations do happen. Just keep checking on line several times a day!

I agree with the advice to keep checking as cancellations do occur.
If you are unable to secure an ADR your chances of a walk up are slim and none. The line starts forming between 4:15 - 4:30, full of folks just like you who hope for a walk up. Some do succeed, often with a 2 hour wait. But more likely you will be turned away. They do not keep tables for walk ups and not even for guests of the Poly. If there is a table, it can be booked in advance.
Personally, if I couldn't get an ADR, I wouldn't bother trying to walk up

When I wanted unavailable breakfast ADRS I just left the Disney Res. tab open on my browser and checked it several times a day. It only took about 4 or 5 days to secure the exact time I wanted - people change their minds. Good luck!

I will wish you good luck if you try a walk up, but in all honesty it will be virtually impossible. Not saying don't try, but know what will likey happen.
As said above you will need to be in line around 4pm to even think of being one of the first in line. Then IF they tell you they may put you on a "list", it will be a good 2+ hour wait. And you have to wait right there, you can't roam the hotel and keep checking back with them. They want you right there so they can turn that table over if they have an opening.

So since your wife really wants it, I would sit down and explain the above scenario to her and if you both feel like taking that time out to try...go for it. If not, there are plenty of good restaurants to enjoy!

Have a magical trip!!

My advise is this...when you get to your resort ask them to see if they could get an ADR for you. I did this once and they were able to secure one for me. Another option (which I have done) is go there a day early and ask to speak to a manager...explain your situation and see if they could get you in....it's worth a shot.

Good Luck !!
