What are off-site restaurants not to be missed?

I would like to know which restaurants are not to be missed in the Orlando area that are not expensive/fancy? I am asking for off-site restaurant recommendations specifically. I don't mind chain restaurants because I am Canadian and we don't have a lot of the American chains in Canada.

Thanks!

Try Race-Rock. It's like a museum of dragsters, bikes, huge 4x4's, and the food and service are great.

Look on the uk trip planning forum for a sticky thread on places to eat and shop in Orlando and you will find a whole ton of links to restaurants that the uk DISers recommend,

Macaroni Grill is really good. TGIF's is like Earl's (not sure if you have them there in Red Deer.)

Do you mean the Canadian chain Earl's that is all across Western Canada and in Texas? If so that is my favourite restaurant! Wow, I will put that at the top of my list. Thanks!

I don't know about you guys but I get the best advice/information on these boards! :flower1:

Certainly nothing fancy, but our favorite pizza is Flippers at Old Town on 192 in Kissimmee. Something considerably nicer is Cafe D'Antonio in Celebration, though I haven't been there for a few years so I can't give a recent review.

Cafe TuTu Tango! I LOVE this place.

Logans Roadhouse Grill. Nice steak place. They have peanuts in the shells on the tables. Very friendly and fun.

Try Carrabbas on west 192 about 5-10 minutes outside WDW.
Great Italian food and atmosphere.

I love Earls but not so fussy about TGIF...you don't have them, Betty? They are across Canada as well. Actually, I didn't find too many chains that haven't hit here as well. Sweet Tomatos sounds different.

One restaurant we hit on that we don't have in Manitoba was Bennigans (there are several in Orlando) which has turned out to be a "must do" when we go to Orlando. Its sorta like a Moxies or Earls. We also tried Western Sizzler (it was recommended) but ugh, it was not very nice, lol.

Ruby Tuesdays is another "Earls" like place. IMHO it's actually better than TGIF or Bennigans (which I've found to be iffy lately).

oh no, we love Bennigans but it has been awhile since we've been. Thanks for the heads up on Ruby Tuesdays, they are in Ontario but I don't think we have one here yet.

If you're going to Florida there are two places you can NOT miss. We go to these everytime we go down. Since the following are not found in Canada (which makes me sad) I suggest going while you're there!

Golden Corral- THE best buffet ever! The bread is great, and so is everything else. Plus the prices AMAZING! Cheaper (and better) then Canada's Tucker's Marketplace, if you've ever been there. No trip to Florida is complete without at least one meal at the Golden Corral.

Steak 'n' Shake- I reccomend the burgers and the milkshakes (duh.) The fries here are so cute!!! They also tastes amazing! Yeah, this burger place is a MUST-see

**Both restaurants are relatively close to Disney**

Dan Marino's, Steak and Shake, NYPD pizza are 2 favs

Go to Dan Marino's restaurant at PointeOrlando! It's awesome!

CHeer! I have some nice pictures of myself and Dans pictures outside the restaurant. On my honeymoon only wanted a Dolphins Jersey, they only had autographed one which was like $800 :(

Try Sonic if you don't have them where you live. They are like an old A&W restaurant/drive up and eat in your car. The burgers are delish! There is one by the Belz outlet.

I love Don Pablo's on I Drive. Its next to the Welcome Center and trust me its really good Mexican Food. Who's goes to Florida and not get good Mexican Food. Oh and Chevy's - they are good too!!! I love Mexican Food!!

Bahama Breeze is terrific. There are 2 close to WDW. We also enjoy Macaroni Grill and last Easter we tried Landry's Seafood and loved it.

Big Bennigan's fan here. TGIF is good too. Especially their Jack Daniel's dinners. Tuesday's? Not so good. Never been to Golden Corral but have only heard good things. I love Tony Roma's ribs. (It's right next to the Steak and Shake). I love Outback, especially the cheese fries and Alice Springs Chicken.

Dinner show? I'm a big fan of Medieval Times!
