What a joke, Lyft is the official ride share but has no booster seat or car seat

I mean it is Disney World or did I randomly get on the six flags forum?

I am more than happy to not care about many things but to have Uber offer an option and the official ride share to not.....
Über has stopped bringing on carseat vehicles. At some point, all the remaining drivers providing car seats will have left, so Über won't be providing them either.

See this is good info to know.
It's been mentioned 2 other times in the thread.
Lyft doesn't provide car seats or booster seats anywhere. Never did. Über has stopped bringing on new contractors with car seats (also never offered boosters). At some point, all their carseat drivers will have left. https://**************.net/2019/06/lyft-official-rideshare-service-disney-parks-ba "So what does this official partnership mean for Disney vacationers? Well, Disney shared that new enhancements will be added to the Walt Disney World Resort Minnie Van service this fall 2019, as Disney and Lyft collaborate on exciting ways to continue to make Minnie Vans even more magical for guests during their vacations. This fall, it will become easier than ever before to request a Minnie Van ride, find the most convenient pickup location, and even request a wheelchair-accessible vehicle, all while using the Lyft app on your Walt Disney World vacation."

It sounds like Lift is the official rideshare specifically because of the reservation platform for requesting MinnieVans.
It was said when Uber rolled it out but honestly I've forgotten
There is something telling, to me, that Uber tried it and after a year or so, decided, Nope, not for us. We are going to Grandfather existing drivers but not add more. And even when it was rolling full bore, only available in select areas.

I’m surprised the drivers don’t have them. With a lyft or Uber the vehicle is registered as a regular passenger vehicle, not a taxi. This means that seatbelt and car seat laws apply to that vehicle. The driver is responsible to make certain any children are in the proper safety/booster seat, and or seatbelt. He will get the ticket if they are not.

the liability is to much.

Nope. The PARENT is responsible for THEIR child's safety, not the driver. If a ticket were issued, it would be to the parent, not the driver.

In the case of rideshare, the fix is quite simple. No child seat? No ride...period.

A driver can refuse a ride for any reason, and no child seat is even included in the list of why a ride should be declined.

If the rideshare driver transports a qualifying child or children, yes, of course they're required to provide the appropriate safety equipment.

Rideshare drivers aren't required to transport children needing safety equipment.

Lyft never offered CRSs.

Über is passing phasing them out.

The driver of a vehicle is responsible for the minor passengers. The driver of the vehicle will receive the ticket for any child not in a seatbelt or safety seat. I have personally written more than I could count.

Not according to Florida car seat laws. They don’t apply to taxis.

Right. But someone driving their regular personal vehicle, registered with regular passenger plates such as Uber and lyft drivers are not taxis. Taxis are not registered as passenger vehicles, they are registered as taxis and are exempt from seat belt laws. A vehicle registered with passenger plates is not a taxi.

Again, as JimMIA (one of this year's resident rideshare drivers - stated above, rideshare drivers can (should/must/are required to/etc) refuse to transport any child whose accompanying adult fails to provide and properly install the appropriate child restraint system.

The pertinent section of the regulation (bolding mine) states:
"(6) The child restraint requirements imposed by this section do not apply to a chauffeur-driven taxi, limousine, sedan, van, bus, motor coach, or other passenger vehicle if the operator and the motor vehicle are hired and used for the transportation of persons for compensation. It is the obligation and responsibility of the parent, guardian, or other person responsible for a child’s welfare as defined in s. 39.01 to comply with the requirements of this section.

Laws do vary state to state, and actually this whole Uber thing didn’t start to get big until after I retired.

And there is the correct answer: FSS 316.613 (6). It's the responsibility of "...the parent, guardian or other person responsible for a child's welfare."

Drivers are not required to decline rides where the necessary child restraints are not provided. It's actually up to the driver, but IF a driver cancels the ride for that reason, they are supposed to be paid a cancellation fee. I personally decline the rides, but some drivers will take them and hope for the best.

Unfortunately, some parents care more about their own convenience than their child's safety. We see that often in this scenario, and also in the cases where rides are ordered for unaccompanied minors. I never drive around school dismissal hours specifically because so many of the rides are unaccompanied kids. I declined a ride one time for a 12 year-old boy who had his own Uber account, and I've declined the same 9 year-old girl twice.

We used Uber with carseat several times two years ago around WDW and it was fantastic.
Drivers were all really helpful and the carseats were new and installed correctly.
I think it is a shame that they aren't getting anymore carseat drivers.
I'll use the Minnie Vans but they are so darn expensive. Even with the $10 uber fee they were quite a bit cheaper than the Minnie Van costs.

The Uber fee for car-seat is $8, not $10.
