I'm always happy to make you laugh but she was mean. He got on yellow everyday and after punishing him everyday for a 6 months she told me that yellow was just a warning. He has never been on yellow in 2nd or kinder. One time I was volunteering and a kid dropped a cookie. A little girl told the teacher and she said "I already know who did it". She made them do current events and they had to get the info from the internet. Some kids didn't have access so the parents had to go to the library. She actually got in trouble for that one. She told 8 parents of boys that their kid had ADD. That's a lot considering there is only 20 kids in the class. Brooke's teacher asked me who I wanted her to have next year and I said it didn't matter. She said "You don't want THAT teacher". The teachers even know. And she spoke to me about church a lot which I thought was weird. I thought it may be just me since we went to the same type of church but all the other parents complained about it too. There are little things I don't like about the other teachers they both have had but this one was strange. As a matter of fact I don't think Brooke's teacher is strict enough.
I feel ya...I work at a school and we have our share of "mean" or "strict" teachers and they all aren't always that together. In fact, many of the teachers I come across that are short with parents or mean to kids are that way because they are tired of teaching or "over it" as one teacher told me. I've met teachers from all around the bay area and I find it fascinating that in many other countries, you have to take a test to get into teaching college, but here in the US anyone can be a teacher.
