We're not going back 5 years but this is our 5th trip in4years!WERE BACK,NEW tr link

So with the recent months of nasty weather...although the sun is out today! Our minds have wondered to thoughts of Disney quite often. I'm not going to lie, those thoughts of Disney have also kept us sane the past few weeks!:rolleyes1

During our mind wondering, I asked my family what their Top 3 MUST DO'S were for our June trip and here are their replies!

Matthew
1. ride the new space mountain
2. Take a fireworks cruise (does this kid know his disney or what!)
3. Have dinner at the Biergarten

I know he will get to do 2 of his 3!

Eric
1. ride the new space mountain
2. get a haircut on Main St! (I love that he picked this)
3. eat Boma's french fries (he LOVES these fries!)

Bryan(he wasn't very cooperative)
1. Triple mountain whammy
2. another massage with Chelsea!:rolleyes1
3.drinking around the World Showcase

Diane
1. See the Nemo show at the AK
2. lounge by the AKL pool with a pina colava
3. see the Main St Electrical Parade

So this is what our family is hoping to accomplish this summer!

Have a great weekend!:goodvibes

Love these Diane! I think my kids forgot about Space mountain, but they will be thrilled it's open again this summer. Your list is JUST like mine : ) LOVE Bryan's, that is halarious:rotfl: We'll just send him and Tim off together. Are you going to do the haircut for Eric? That would be fun!:thumbsup2
Have a great weekend Diane!
Lesley

What great choices for everyone! Your kids definitely know their WDW! :thumbsup2

I always love doing the "what are you most looking forward to" topic. :goodvibes

Hi Laura! The sun is FINALLY out here today!:cool1: Our kids get their report cards on the last day of school and the supervisor of instruction has to review every childs report card before it can get sent home and that takes a few days! It is ridiculous that the state requires 180 days because the last 7 are pointless not to mention that they are 1/2 days to boot!:goodvibes

Someone reviews every report card for the building... are you kidding me. Seven half days to finish a year... that is crazy too.

Love your wish list The Electrical Light Parade is my top thing. I am hoping Hannah will go on Space Mountain, she is tall enough now.

Love your family must do

Especially Bryan :lmao:

Hi there - what a great PTR! I'm now all caught up on the snow updates - can't believe how much there's been this season, it sure makes sunny WDW seem even more appealing! :goodvibes Looking forward to hearing more - I've never seen the Nemo show, but it's a must-do for my next trip too!

I love those choices. They seem so simple and do-able (well, except for maybe the fireworks cruise and some chick named Chelsea). Bryan cracks me up - he's such a man! :rotfl: Y'all are gonna have a fun trip! I can't wait to hear about it.

All those top three lists are sure to add up to a fun trip! Loving your number three! I can't wait to see the Main Street Electrical Parade again! Did you read where the summer fireworks are going to be the same ones they used to shoot off for the Pirate and Princess Party? Can't wait to see them!

I like the list of "must do's'. I think you will really like the Nemo show. It is with puppets. I just saw it for the 1st time in Oct and really enjoyed it. Also, can't wait to hear about the new Space Mountain.

Hello everyone!

CALLING ALL DISER'S.....I need your help!!

We are trying to plan out our drive! According to Mapquest, the trip is about 1100 miles and should take about 17 1/2 hours:scared1::scared1::scared1:

So here is where you all come in! We are scheduled to arrive at WDW on 6/18. We have a few scenarios planned.....

keep in mind we will travel on I 95 South the ENTIRE way starting outside of Philadelphia! We will pass through Baltimore, Washington DC, Richmond VA and then it's smooth sailing (I hope) until Florida!

So, with these things in mind, which of the following seems like the best plan?

1. We could leave on 6/17 at 12:30pm and try to drive to Savannah hoping to arrive around 2:00am and staying at a hotel and then driving the last 4 hours on 6/18. This option has us hitting Baltimore around 3:30pm and Washington DC somewhere between 4:00-4:30pm, then Richmond around 7pm. Those of you familiar with the area is rush hour in force then? The kids would be awake some of the time and then probably doze as it gets later.

2. We would leave around 8pm on 6/17 and drive all night avoiding all major rush hours and drive straight through all the way to WDW and arrive about 2pm on 6/18. We will probably be exhausted and not do much once we arrive but the kids would be asleep for the whole first part of the drive.

3. We would leave about 3pm and drive for 12 hours and hope to grab a hotel and get about 5 hours sleep and then drive the last 4-5 hours on 6/18 and arrive at WDW about 3-4pm. We would hit Baltimore around 6pm and Washington DC between 6:30-7:00pm. Not sure how long rush hour lasts there?

Those are the options. What do you guys think?

Next item....Eric's MK Barbershop haircut. Does anyone know the cost? How crowded does it get? When is the best time to go? Are there any special things I should ask or look for?

Thank you for all your help!!!

Diane:goodvibes

Hi there! As a fellow NJ Dis'er I would vote for option #2. The rush hour traffic in DC is terrible and can really back up your travel time. We have driven from NJ (Bergen County) about 10 times before we had children and always leave late at night and drive through the night to avoid traffic and such. It is really exciting and not that hard with two adult drivers. Now that we have a 2 1/2 year old - we fly, but I do miss the excitement of the drive and being able to take anything you want- regardless of weight, etc.!

About the Barber Shop- we were just there in February for my daughter, Ava's 1st haircut. She is 2 1/2 but never needed one till now. We arrived at the MK about 10 minutes before it opened, watched the opening show and headed straight to the barber shop as the gates opened. We were the 1st ones there and the shop wasn't event open yet. We waited about 3 minutes and they opened the doors and welcomed us in. There are three chairs and three stylists waiting to take folks as they arrive. They do not take reservations. Penny cut Ava's hair, gave her stickers and overall was just as sweet and lovely as could be. It was a wonderful experience. Half way through Ava's haircut, another family arrived with two children- boy and girl. They were just getting regular hair cuts and sat down immediatly. They do not have sinks, so they just spray your hair with water. Overall, it was a very magical experience, and a wonderful memory for our daughter and it only cost $18.00! I do know that when my nephew goes (he is 9) he always gets a fancy buzz cut or mohawk and lots of pixie dust (mickey mouse confettie) and he thinks he is so cool! I'm sure you will all enjoy the experience. I'm happy to show you pictures, but I didn't post any b/c I didn't want to hijack your thread.

Have a wonderful trip!!! :)

You do not want to be driving through D.C./northern Virginia (which is the worst part, IMO) during the first option or third option. I think driving straight through is very difficult to do. How well do your boys sleep in the car? Mine do not do well. They end up in terrible positions and it's just not comfy.

There's no way you can leave earlier that day?
