I'm so excited. We just told the kids this weekend that we would be going back!!!!

Now we just need to figure out when. My DH is thinking next March and I'm thinking this September/October.

I would love to see MNSSHP while the kids are still into that. The last visit was a week before they started it and I loved all of the fall decorations that they were starting to set up. Fall is my favorite time of the year. DH wants to go a different time of year then we did the first time.

So needless to say we have some deciding to do...and this time the kids can help because they know about this trip. First one was a surprise.

My 58 year old DH & 15 year old DD still love MVMCP. We've never done MNSSHP, but we're not into Halloween. Point is, Disney's special events are fun at any age.

Congrats and good luck!

You may have to take whatever time is available...unless you are talking about 2015 or 2016?

We just booked yesterday for 10 days for this October premium site no problem.

Fall is our favorite time to visit w Epcot food n wine, campers decorating for Halloween, n weather is still warm in day, cooler at night w jacket needed

Check out you tube ft wilderness 2013 Halloween. That will get you moving to make ressies!

;)

I vote for October. :cool1:
March can sometimes be very busy due to spring break, but the fall has a lot to offer. If you go this fall, you'll get to see the NEW fantasy parade at MK. There's always the Food and Wine Fest at EPCOT which is a great experience and the MNSSHP at MK. We've been to both the Halloween and Christmas parties and loved them. Check out a few utube videos of Halloween at the Fort and at MK and the MNSSHP and you'll be so temped for October. Which ever vacation you choose, enjoy the magic..:wave2:

We are thinking sometime between September 2014 to March 2015. If we do MNSSHP we will avoid the end of October so booking should be ok. I'm currently thinking like the 2 or 3 week of September. They should be doing the Halloween party then.

Hi Lori,

Other than Peak Hurricane Season Sept is a great time to come as the parks aren't as busy. It's packed for Labor Day weekend and then theirs a bit of a break in September before it picks back up for the Fall/Holiday season. Plus, the rates are very reasonable. I usually come Labor Day weekend, but I check out the day after Labor Day as their is a mass exit on Labor Day itself so we get the resort almost to oursleves that day. But, if I can get the time off I prefer to go the weekend after as it's not crowded at the parks or the Fort at all, because it seems everyone came the week before! LOL! But, you'll probably want to come towards the last two weeks or so of September to hit MNSSHP. :)

Our first trip to the fort was over Labor Day 2012. We checked in on Sunday and stayed through Saturday. Sunday and Monday was packed!! We got kinda nervous. We were shocked how empty the campground was by Monday night. We went to MK on Tuesday and came back at 2pm to an empty pool. The rest of the week was the same way. It was great to be there during that time.

Ed,

Stop rubbing it in. :)

We decided to remodel our kitchen this winter so that took most of our Disney money (and then some). I think we are going to spend a few extra days in the mountains when we are racing in Denver, but that will be the family vacation this year.

Next year? My DS has already declared we are going back to WDW!

We are going to but not until June 2015. Have already started planning and for a couple days it looked like we might move to the POP. I was tempted by the possibility of 20-30% discounts, historically they have offered a deal similar to what they have right now every year. So I decided it would be cheaper to get two rooms there. Dh was okay at first but then a couple days later said he would rather give up the golf cart and stay FW then go into the hotel rooms.
Besides it sounds like off site golf cart rentals are becoming a bit of a headache.
Everyone going likes the idea of being away from the resort and having a ton of activities to do. We are planning one day where we just do resort stuff and go to HDD for dinner.

We just got back from the Fort this past Sunday for a spur of the moment surprise trip for the 3 kids birthday celebrations. We have 9 days booked in September already, and it is by far our favorite time of the year to go. Although, I'm sure we will be there a few more times before September! ;)
