We're All MAD here! SPAZZ hands, cupcakes, booze, and running...GSC Feb. 2015 PTR

So basically we can just copy Miley and we're good, right?!?! :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

Ummm..... Well we've already established my selfie skills and posing skills are sub par.. You can probably assume the same for my twerking skills.

They also seem to do the L with their finger...is that for Loser??? :confused3 :rotfl2:

It stands for "Lovely Spazz-a-Jazzirit Tweedles."

Duh.

I think they will be great shirts for that! I love how soft they are. I can't wait to see what the two of you come up with for your costume. Last year, I knew someone who ran with a friend and the two were dee and dum for I think the 5k. They are on the RD picture page.(or were) Their costumes were pretty stinking cute if you are looking for inspiration. Something tells me though you don't need any. :goodvibes

You may have possibly just given Karen a new goal of making the RD picture page. I'm just guessing....

I feel so much pressure. :rotfl2:

Kidding. I tried on the shirts and they are SO soft. I also bought the 19.3 Hoody from Raw Threads and I love it.............

Haha, no, we took that idea and ran like the wind...I think any more inspiration and we will be so costumed-up we won't be able to run! ;)

Uh, we don't have to worry about twerking, my skills for that are...uh...nonexistent!

I may need to work on my tongue sticking-out though. I have this shot from last year but I will tell you...it took me about 30 tries to get this shot. I'm sure me sticking my tongue out at my phone repeatedly was a sight to behold! Hopefully the neighbor didn't see me!!! :lmao:

I keep hearing how soft the raw threads shirts are, I haven't ever purchased one, so I'm in the dark here.

Oh Nicole, it's not costume pressure you should be feeling...it's PHOTO pressure! Do you have any idea how many photos I take and I'm still never ever ever satisfied?!?!? No pressure or anything! :thumbsup2

Laughing so hard at that picture.

That's it- text me that picture so I can make that YOUR picture on my phone!

Did you partake of their sale last week - they "mystery pack" deal? I am super happy with what I got, but not everyone was as lucky as I was. I wonder if it was what pack I ordered. I know that the gal I am doing the DLH with ordered the basic and while she did get an Ariel shirt... she also got a run for beer and a boston strong. I ordered "good girls". So maybe that is why? I have not ordered any of their other stuff... just the tanks.

I didn't. I hemmed and hawed for a few days on it.

I knew I needed new shoes (getting them this weekend) and so was considering the $40 pack but after really thinking about the price compared to the other packs... I figured they would likely be ones I REALLY didn't want. And I don't need training shirts right now so I ultimetly decided to pass and was kinda glad I did when I saw some pics of the $40 shirts that came.

I would have been happier with a $60 pack but like I said- I knew I needed shoes and so decided to not go with it and save the money towards shoes and perhaps 3 more of the 4 costumes I need in the next 10 months. :)

I hemmed and hawed too. Then I thought I decided and realized that the cost of shipping was higher than normal. (like almost twice what I was charged in the past) I about backed out then and there. I caved due to peer pressure though... and like I said am happy I did. With the pack I got, I pretty much have a top to my "costume" now for each disney race I will be running in the next 12 months. The only one that I might still have to give consideration to is the Avengers. I figure Merida can stand in as a super hero... but a tank in November might be a tad chilly.:goodvibes

Maybe you could add those sparkle arm sleeves that see to be pretty popular? That would keep your arms warm?

I have never run in them so I'm unsure how they feel- but was thinking of purchasing a pair for PHM 1/2 next year.....

I think Karen said they were a bit of a pain, yes? I have not tried them either... but that is a thought.:thumbsup2

Well, it depends on the sleeves. When I wore sleeves for the first time, they weren't even sleeves, they were supposed to be leg warmers and they were THIN and nylon:

(this is the only pic I can find right now that's uploaded, but you can see they are really thin)

So, I got some for PMH that are "meant" to be sleeves for runners. The first pair I ordered in a large were squeezing my upper arm, so I ordered an XL?? (then they were too big) Either way, they were MUCH thicker and not as comfortable. I didn't like how they didn't go up my arm very far but were covering my wrists. Then they rode down during the race and bunched up on my wrists. The only reason I didn't throw them down is b/c I was using them for the sweat.

It's just an opinion though, I think some people really like these sleeves, so I'm not posting who makes them, but I think I'll stick to thinner fabric if I ever use them again...

Was thinking if I use them for Elsa (because they have specific snowflake/sparkly ones) and they annoy me- I will ditch during the run. My main purpose would be a) to keep me warm if it happens to be cold that morning before I start running and b) for pictures.

I had to ditch my tutu I made for Wine & Dine at mile 3 because it annoyed me so much. I swore I'd never run in another homemade tutu again... and I won't. Because the darn strips just kept getting stuck in my cr#tch as I ran. ANd it did that on previous 5Ks as well. I can't win...... so I give up on the tutu. For me... at least.... I just can't deal with it.....

Yeah, the only tutus I run in are the Legs Avenue ones, they are super short, so I didn't have an issue with them. I tried to make one and ended up spending more money than if I just purchased them!

Karen that is quite the transformation!

I think we all have our preferences in what we want to wear. I won't say that arm sleeves are a no go for me cause I have never tried them. I do appreciate your opinion on them.

As for homemade tutus... yeah. The one and only time I wore one that same exact thing happened to me. The strands would not stay out of you know where. I felt so bad too because it really was making me frustrated. However I know the person who made it for me worked long and hard to put it together. I didn't want to be unappreciative of that fact. I did appreciate that she made it for me. So I braved the tutu getting a little too personal for the race rather than tossing it. I did swear I would not wear another ever again. They look so cute on so many people though. It makes me want to rethink my stand. Maybe it just needs to be a short one?

Thanks Ann. That was last summer, I gained a little in training for the PHM. Who gains weight running that much?!?! Me. :rolleyes1

The short tutus are the only ones that work for me, they don't bother me at all, and I've heard a lot of complaints about long ones, so length might help?

Weekly update:

I had a great week of running, the weather warmed up and spring arrived!

The week started with Eleanor's 14th birthday party.

20140407_142732k.jpg

Eleanor is Savannah's friend that came with us this past February to WDW. I think it's relevant to this PTR because her birthday was directly influenced by that trip, she fell in love with everything Peter Pan and so that is what her birthday theme was! :goodvibes

20140407_142848.jpg

I ran twice with my furry client, Normie. The trail we run on is turning green and the trees are flowering! Yay!!!

20140410_125348.jpg

I ran 4 by myself Saturday, a little speedier. Negative splits with my fastest mile since before I was injured (10:04). Last summer I was running around 10:30-10:45 miles but half marathon training and injuries slowed that WAY down. I'm more in the 11:30 minute miles now normally if I run more thna 3 miles and I'm ok with that. I have learned that I would rather run at ANY speed than be injured and I'm not competing with anyone but myself. It was nice to speed it up though, it felt like a good workout. :) It also felt great to run in just my sparkleskirt and a shirt and no extra stuff for the cold! Yay spring!

The rest of the weekend was spent in the yard. Rey & I worked on planting some new perennials and putting some stone border around a couple of the gardens. It was so gorgeous out, I think it actually hit 80 on Saturday! (don't hate me too much Nicole...it's going to snow this evening) :sad2:

Rey photobombing.
20140412_155617.jpg

This week will be colder, we've already hit today's high of 43. :scared: Rey is also headed back to work after an extended time home getting his blood sugar in order. I don't really want him to go.

Oh and to finish my week off in true form, after enjoying my week of lovely weather and runs, I busted my little toe, ripped the nail, and can barely walk. So running won't be happening at least at the beginning of this week. I thought it would be better quickly, but last night it hurt more than it did when I hurt it yesterday morning?? It was throbbing and hurt really bad. It's a little better this morning, but not much. I don't know if I broke it too or what, but looks like lower mileage this week to go along with the cold and my husband leaving out.

TweedledumNicole, I may need you to pull me out of a funk later this week! Do something funny to make me laugh. :joker:

Oh what an ADORABLE birthday theme! I love it!!!!

Congrats on that fastest mile. I've never run a mile that fast. I'm sure with my new running shoes I'll be at 8 minute miles in no time, right? :thumbsup2

I also love your colorful outdoor chairs. Was thinking to myself- it really IS a shame I'm not closer because I could just show up with some margaritas and we could sit around that firering & ease our blues.........

I'm sorry about Rey and the injury. Combine that with the bad weather... yhea, I could see why the week is glum looking!

I will do my hardest to take horrible selfies.. perhaps while practicing poses to send them to you.

Cheer up Sweet Dee. We are almost at the 10 month mark exactly.

You know what helps me cheer up? Vacation planning. So you can start working our schedule for the parks.. how about that?!?!? :)

I was thinking about what a shame it is that we're so close but so far as well. I always seem to find the most amazing people that I connect with that live forever away. We have a wine festival coming up the first weekend of May and I wish you could be here. I live in a tiny town of 4000 and this is the ONLY thing I really love that they do once a year. There are a ton of wineries in the area and Sip-n-Savor brings them all in. They set up on Main street in all the shops and you buy a wine glass for $25 and go around trying all the different wine. Best yet, it's WALKING distance from my house, so we just walk up there...get drunk...and stagger back! :lmao: I look forward to it all year since there's really nothing else but crash derby's and cow tipping out here normally. :p Wish you could be here for it!

Anywho...I went off on a bit of a tangent there, yes? Planning! I think on my last run I had already planned out a majority of it. I guess it's a good thing I have a crappy memory! :rotfl2: Should I make a color coded chart including our matching outfits each day? :lmao:

The 2 of you (Nicole & Karen) just crack me up!!! I can picture you hanging around the firering sipping on margueritas!!! :thumbsup2

Um. If it honestly wasn't the first weekend of May I probably would have showed up on your doorstep with my Disney Wine & Dine wineglass... ready to go!

I have to take 19 girls to Girl Scout Camp that weekend though in Indiana. :crazy2:

You sure it's that first weekend & not the second weekend of May? :) Hahahahaha!!!!

We need to find a race somewhere before PHM we can do. You said you can do St. Louis races? Maybe we should look there? I know you said Pet Sitting is crazy for you in the spring/summer/fall so probably trying to coax you to Chicago won't work.... but I have a SIL in St. Louis.. So I could do that....

Maybe we can design a cupcake shirt... our own logo & put all the cupcakes on the it.. like a list.. then we could all just order it- have it screen printed. I might have to work out a draft version to submit on the Cupcake thread. :)

The 2 of you (Nicole & Karen) just crack me up!!! I can picture you hanging around the firering sipping on margueritas!!! :thumbsup2

Taking selfies - don't forgot that!!! :)
