I love the sneakers and congrats on getting your run on with the marathoners! That is such a fun way to run! Don't be hard on yourself about your pace, it takes time. I found the best way to increase your speed is with speedwork (which I always hate when I start, but get such a runner's high when I am done). The work I like to do it sprint for 1 min/walk for 1 min and do that about 10-12 times (known as Fartleks

) The other speedwork is Yasso's which are running 800 m or 400 m as fast as you can and recover and repeating. You do that every few weeks. They are like the Magic Mile that Galloway promotes as well. And then there are tempo runs, doing a few miles at race pace. You get your body nice and prepared for running at that pace for extended amounts of time. That being said, I trained for a 9 min marathon pace, but I think it was closer to a 10 min pace, which I was totally fine with for the marathon, just happy I finished.
I love that you can take your clients for runs! I have 2 dogs (7 yr old yellow lab and a 9 mth old black lab), but I don't take them for runs. When my puppy is older I may take her for a mile or so. I had a lab with bad hips so I don't want to run them too hard.
I love the Easter no-basket idea! My daughter is 7 so we are still in the basket and egg hunt mode. She loves the egg hunt so we are celebrating this weekend with her other grandparents and she wants my husband and I to hide eggs again. This year, I filled half her eggs with pieces to a
Lego set and the other half had jelly beans. She loved it! For this weekend, I may take change out of her change jar (she won't notice) and do half with change and half with candy. It is really just the act of finding eggs that she likes, but she does like a little something in them.
