Tara, DMV yech! Hair dresser first then DMV! Smile on the pic and lie on the weight! I also have the recent dilemma of deciding what color to tell them my hairs reallhy are. Public confession. Eek!


Nancy, my weekend is packed. Work and more of it. I had to bring home stuff I did not get to b4 vaca. Paying for vaca now.

Besides working this weekend, I will be working. We did go to see Evita last night and then out to get something to eat. Wings/salad for me--beer was complimentary b/c I complained of the excessive wait for someone to wait on us. It was very bad service and I probably won't want to return there for quite some time. I do usually like this place too. Off I go now...

Bad morning... on the way to waffles, a truck slammed on it's breaks, I did... hit gravel that had some frozen water on a curve...
let's just say I am so damn lucky that only my license plate holder hit the pole and got bent & cracked... my side airbag went off and my arm hurts like hell, but I'm okay and more importantly the car is. We'll take it to get the airbag reset/fixed next week or possibly just wait and leave the car while I am at WDW in 2 weeks. Scared me to death though... I actually made the car do a 180 to avoid a pole and a fence. The plate did hit the pole, but my car never touched the fence.
I swear I had an angel watching over me... Luis swears I'm actually that good of a driver.
Lesson learned, avoid big trucks in front of you

And when you think you need air in your tires, do it... though with the icy gravel it may not have helped. And nope, couldn't see the gravel until after I went off the road..

So Luis took my shopping to my favorite store (White House Black Market) and found two pairs of capris for my trip. We also picked up a cute faux suede skirt with some shirts to go with it all. Then we went to lunch and wandered around a book store.

We both laughed when I saw, no joke "The Kama Sutra of Vatsyayana in Pop-up "

Nancy, enjoy the movie (no matter which one you go to) And I did notice something due to the server busy I've gotten... I am way behind on PMs... I'll get to those this weekend. I didn't realize how much I ignored doing them

Lily, I like how you feel about the DMV! I now need to ask them what I need to do to get my plates replaced since I totally bent my front one. Oh and I am thrilled... my weight is *finally* just about what my license says! Hasn't been that way ever

Hi, honeys, we're home!! Can't tell ya'll what a lovely surprise it was to arrive at check out and only be charged for one night, when we had stayed 3. Thought it was awfully strange not to get the usual bill under the door this morning. What a family ya'll are!!!!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! Makes it soooo much easier, since I don't get paid bereavement time yet and had to take the last 2 days off.

Need to get some laundry going before heading in to work. Just wanted to stop in and let ya'll know how grateful we both are to this lovely family we've forged here. Ya'll are the bestest!!

Sister stopped by for a visit today and delivered some chicken she got from the butcher. We had a nice visit for a bit. She will be going to Brazil for a conference and then since she is there for will take an extra week to visit with the family of the exchange student she hosted a while back. We heard about her recent cruise. She had a nice time, but I think the Disney cruise sounds better.

Not exactly feeling all the best, kind of need to take it easy some. I wanted to work a bit more, but it is not going to happen.

Lily, I think I will do the shopping! I get phone calls from the market that he can't find something we need!! I got the bright idea to ask the boys if they'd like to plan and help prepare dinner one night a week. They were both gung ho for it. Kevin said he wanted to make crabcakes and Neil said hot dogs! Can you tell who's going to be the gourmet chef?

Got a funny from this morning. I was snuggling with Kevin and he asked to listen to the iPod. I let him, and after listening to nearly an album of Disney stuff, he turns it off and tells me he wants his own iPod! 6 going on 30!

I talked to Liz later and she told me I should buy it for him!!!! I can't start that precedent, although I thought I *could* get him an MP3 player if he makes honor roll for all 4 quarters and reads us 20 books by himself by the end of the school year. Make him work for it!

Anyway, off to do some surfing. I work all day tomorrow, then have an easy week.

Morning All,

This week continues to be busy for me. Yesterday both boys had bball games and pictures. We were at the church most of the day. Went grocery shopping and home for a bit but most of it was spent at church. Discovered how much cheaper it is to shop at Super Walmart for food. I got dinners, snacks, breakfasts etc....for 10 days and spent just about 100 dollars. We figured it out and it would have been more like 150 at the regular store we shop at. Some exciting things happened this week. I was asked to take over Spirt Wear for my youngests sons school so I will now be in charge of that and on the board of the PTA. Took the kids to the endocrinologist and my eldest has gained 2 inches in 5 months with a month off his growth hormone because of the hurricane and my youngest has gained an inch in three months with the same month off so it is working well for them. He also wants me tested for low growth hormone and see an adult endocrinologist. He started asking me questions because of the kids having problems with growth and because of my answers and my body type he thinks I may be lacking and need supplementation. I wont grow any but it can help with the way my body stores fat, my lipid profile which right now is out of control, and my energy level. My GP is doing the test he recommended on Wednesday and if that comes out low I need to see an endocrinologist. I have also lost 30 pounds now!! I asked dh if he noticed a difference in me yesterday. Wrong person to ask. His answer was because I gain it all over its going to take a significant amount of weight off to notice a big difference. First off most of my weight gain is in my middle which isnt exactly all over and Ummmm like 30 pounds ISNT a significant weight loss??? Some people have noticed the weight loss and that makes me feel good. Also so many of my clothes are so big it makes it hard to see. I also wear scrubs at work and those are meant to be big anyway so my weight loss doesnt show too well there either. I refuse though to buy any more clothes until I just cant wear the ones I have even with a belt and then I will probably go to a consignment shop to get interim clothes. I wont buy new stuff until I get to the weight I want to be.

Oh man I just noticed this new smiley!!! Too kewl!!

Well I guess I better get the kids up for church. Im sorry this is such and EOIP post. I will ketchup when I get home from church.

Karen, seems like you are quite busy still. Hope you are enjoying it all. Good news about the endo for the kidlets. Hope it works for you too. Congratulations on the 30 pounds you have melted away. Keep up the great work! That is not an easy thingl. Hope the stop-smoking thing is working too.

Suzanne, sounds like Kevin might enjoy a shuffle. Good idea with the meal planning help. We've done that with ours. They also have always helped with the making, one really took to it and the other went either way...(at least they are self-sufficient and I know they can feed themselves if needed). It was such fun whe we would do all that drudge together. I miss that time.

Nancy, enjoy the movie. I'd be interested in your review of it. I thought it was intriguing and I might want to see it, but I am Sooooo far behind in my movie watching I don't guess I'll ever catch up.

Lovely sunny day here. Cold, but lovely. Not sure what all I'm gonna do other than get my cuppa first, oh and pray. Off I go....

Rear ended by a semi? I couldn't even imagine that one, Nancy!!! Even though I still feel a bit stupid for the whole thing (I always put all blame on me) I feel better about it than yesterday. I could've had my car totally destroyed and done some major damage to someone's fence!

I think that sounds like a fairly decent trade off... good grades and things for a shuffle. They are cute and not terribly expensive.

Sounds like a busy day Karen... and honestly for the weight loss, I think most people noticed a ton for me after about 60 pounds gone. Sucks, but old baggy clothes don't help. And seeing you daily as your DH does, won't either. Those who went months w/o seeing me noticed more than anyone else.

But I need to go now... church time coming up see y'all later!

I was down with a migraine yesterday. These things are really getting to me! yuck! I feel better today, a little stuffy but my head is better.

hit to everyone else....my kids are demanding my attention today...i guess since they were ignored yesterday! We were supposed to go to the zoo but it decided to rain and i didn't feel like traipsing through the zoo in the rain...now if it was DAK then i wouldn't have minded at all!

the new smilieys are too cute this is my favorite... I want one giving a raspberry! I need to look and see if they have one of those yet.

Home from church. Had to stop at Walmart again because I forgot to buy a belt yesterday. Spent the entire day yesterday hiking up my pants. Now Im kinda down for the count for the day. My back is really really bad today and Im limping something fierce so dh told me not to do anymore today and just rest. I guess all the driving around and running around I have done since Wednesday is taking its toll.

Beth and Dave my prayers continue to be with you during this very difficult time.

Nancy I think I forgot to say Happy Belated Birthday to you. I hope you had a great day.

Tara sorry about the migraines. You are getting them a lot lately. Have you checked with the doctor as to the possible cause? The doc put me on Imitrex for mine and that works like a charm for me. Thankfully I get them very very rarely. Dh gets them more than I do because he is allergic to nitrates and often will eat something he doesnt realize has nitrates in it. Sorry you didnt get to the zoo yesterday.

Elaine yeah dh was the wrong person to ask. It was funny today I was standing there doing something for kids church and the director Jane came in and said. My God have you lost weight.....I was wearing some of my smaller clothes. Made me feel good. She asked me what I was doing to lose the weight as she is trying also although she doesnt look like she needs to lose very much.

Lily I like being busy but this week was a little over the top for me. Too much to do in a short period of time. Thankfully next week will calm down more. The kids had two docs appts last week and both were about 35 miles away each way so a lot of driving and picking kids up, dropping them off at school etc... I sorta didnt know if I was coming or going there for a bit ROFL! Dh wasnt much help at all because of work. Thanks for the kudos on the weight loss. You are very much an inspiration to me. I hope some day to lose enough weight to be able to do the marathon.

Well I think Im gonna go get eldest ds to get his homework done and go lay down for a bit and rest my back and leg.

I didn't hear that about the shuffle, but I wouldn't be surprised... or I don't think I heard that about the Shuffle. With the way the technology is, I bet the Shuffle is just not what they consider to be "worth it" now.

Still feeling a bit icky, thanks for the get wells. I am considering staying from work tomorrow. We'll see how the evening goes, but seems like it is not getting better, rather progressing.

Quiet Day for sure. Server busy, durn this modern technology anyway!

And I will be missing the shuffle. I like the little thing. I suppose with the nano tech that the shuffle is quickly obsolete and has been problematic to many.
