I've got a long haul flight of about 8 hours coming up. It will be my first international flight and I'm debating whether I want a window or aisle seat for my flight. What are your selections and why?

At this point in my existence it’s aisle seats no matter the flight duration.
Easy to maneuver if someone else needs to use the facilities and more leg space for me. The thrill of looking out the window is gone 🙂.

This has always been an interesting question in our family! I don't think length of flight matters. My spouse is always aisle - easy in and out, doesn't get that claustrophobic feeling sitting inside by the window, has a smidge more leg room flexibility. I've always been window - no matter how many times I fly, I like being able to look out the window and see the world! Of course that doesn't help much during nighttime flights, but I still prefer it. In a 3-seat configuration when it's 2 of us flying, I always end up in the middle, because the aisle seat is the priority in this family!!! And I'm good with that!!

Short trip. Long trip.
Always aisle. You never know when that wave of claustrophobia is going to kick in.
I don’t like to feel trapped.

I've always been window, since I started flying at age 5. Because I'm going to at least have the chance to see some new parts of the world I booked window there and back. In the US, I generally book window for anything 3 hours or less, anything more than that and I book Aisle. Flight is 60 days out and as of right now I have a row to myself. I don't expect that to stay that way. I also paid for Main Cabin Extra on the way over and Premium Economy on the way home. I'm 6'3" with wide shoulders. I'm not going to be comfortable in a standard economy seat for that long no matter what.

Aisle if you think you'll need more then 1 or 2 bathroom visits. Otherwise window, you won't be bothered by other pax going to the bathroom.
