Lily I am so sorry I didnt see that you were sick. I will say prayers that you feel better very quickly. Keep taking it easy and take the day off tomorrow from work. You need it. You dont want to get worse.

Ive just been taking it easy and keeping the kids on task with their homework. My eldest had to write a poem using a lot of litterary terms. He wrote about being in God's Hands. I have to give it to him he went with what was near and dear to his heart. It really is a beautiful poem. Im going to send it to our pastor tomorrow. I told him if his teacher gives him a hard time about it to have her talk to me. He is not trying to convert anyone with his poem just writing about how it is for him being in God's Hands. I am really proud of him. Little guy is working on his polar project. He has a big one due in a couple of days so tomorrow he and dad will be doing some research on the computer. He chose the Puffin as his animal. One near and dear to my heart as it was my mothers, their NaNa's favorite animal.

Oh Elaine I meant to address this before but forgot to. My eldest had a midterm in 6th grade because of the type of math program he is in. He is in GEM math which teaches 6th grade through 8th grade math in the 6th grade year. They have to pass by a certain GPA in order to stay in that program. He got a B in the class and an A on his midterm. That was the only class he had a midterm in.

Movie was very good ::yes::
I haven't read the book, and hear from people that have that it was disappointing for them.....but we really enjoyed it.

I swear Dave said they were discontinuing the shuffle, but now he says he didn't say that  .....so disregard that supposed info

Yep, server busy on a Sunday afternoon  I like this better :furious:

Sorry you are feeling bad, Lily .....and Tara too. Hope you feel better soon.

Lily, I hope you do feel much better soon! I'd take the day off if I were you :)

Ah, gotcha on the midterm there, Karen! Actually I am glad it was for a special program!

LOL, Nancy... I'll just say our husbands can be so cute when it comes to things like that, eh? ;)
I don't think I know anyone who read the book first. most I know saw the movie then read the book

Oh and :furious:
much better for how I feel!

I'm off to church... see y'all later!

Evening, folks! Nice busy day at the store, so the day just sped by. Looking forward to hitting the sack early and catching up on some of the sleep I've missed the last few days.

Lily, I'm so sorry you have the ickies. Prayers and pixiedust: that you feel better real soon!

Tara, hope that migraine has been banished for good!! Boys being good today?

Nancy, I'm glad to hear you enjoyed the movie. I've been thinking it looked pretty good, too, and I've not read the book.

Loving the new smilies!! This one :lmao: has always been one of my favorites from that boomspeed site I have bookmarked. My other favorite is the horse dropping "horse apples" behind him, but I suppose that wouldn't be appropriate for the DIS. Can't believe they found my hero!! :sulley:

Off to dinner now and relax for a few while the laundry is going. Then, we have more curtains to hang and I think it's about time we put the headboard and footboard back on the bed! Dave's son will be coming by tomorrow, not sure yet how long he is going to stay, but I want the place looking a little better before he sees it.

Evening, all!

Good day at work, and what was even better was that I called Ed to check in. He was at Mom's and we got invited out to dinner :thumbsup2 . Met up with them at the Olive Garden by their house.

Okay, now I have to hunt down info about the shuffle. I kinda do the cost per song analysis and question my sanity. 7500 songs for 300 bucks vs 120 songs for 100 bucks. A co worker told me that she's seen them in pawn shops. Although Kevin did manage to spill cream sauce all over the back seat on the way home for the restaurant, so I'm not in any rush. Yep, a few weeks after I spent 60 bucks detailing the car to get HIS barbeque stain (and my coffee stain) out of the upolstry!

Lily, hope you're feeling better.

Karen, NUTRASWEET is evil for migraines here. Hope you got your rest.

Nancy, cool that you enjoyed the movie-I've been told it's good by coworkers, just too serious for me.

Tara, going to torture the kids?

Bethie, don't you love it when the store is busy? The day goes sooooo much faster!

It feels so much later than it is. Got the rheumatologist in the morning, woohoo. Then I'm going to run around paying bills, going to the farm stand, picking up turbo tax and doing my taxes. I'm going to need a day off from my day off.

suzanne

Bethie, good luck with straightening up the place! I hope you have a nice visit no longer how it is!

Tara, I don't know whether to laugh or cry for ya... so in case...
 & :lmao:

Good luck with the doc tomrorow Suzanne.
As for the iPod... well, I see your thoughts... I'd take it more of what do you trust your son with. The Nano is still good since it is flash memory. I'd stay away from a physical hard drive (standard iPods) no matter what. Eh... good luck ;)

I'm off to bed. I'll catch y'all later!

Morning all..

It was a great weekend. Saturday was relaxing. Went to the gym, then relaxed at home till my nieces basketball game (which they won, niece made 3 baskets..not bad for a 9yr old), then to the mall, then back home till the girls went to Girls Scout game night. Then Todd and I spent time with my brother watching a movie. Sunday was church, McDonalds (by the way they can't even tell you what their salads consist of, very frustrating) then took a walk why Todd and the girls played at the park...then off to in-laws. Went to walmart twice in there for Dad's prescription....finished the evening with Todd helping me make the 60 homeless lunches for this week. I have to say SIL is was not happy with me. I got frustrated over others not deciding who was going to call for the pizza and how much pizza to get that I told Todd I was leaving to get my kids something to eat...they then made a quick decision. She later said some people act like baby's and told my girls she hopes they had enough to eat. I kept my mouth shut and am not praying that God controls my anger and the situation. I don't care if she is mad at me but don't say things to my kids that aren't necessary. To me the babies were those who couldn't make a decision. All I wanted was my kids fed.

Oh well.....another week it is.

Elaine..hope you are feeling okay today.

Beth/Dave...glad to see you back. Take care in the months to come.

Very busy week ahead...hope to check in atleast once a day.

Hi Ho, Hi Ho, it's off to work I go! Just wanted to stop in first and say Good Morning and hope ya'll have a great day! :grouphug:

Nancy, I'm rooting for the team with the best logo--Seahawks, wins, hands down!! :rotfl:

Oh my gosh, YaYa rivalry! :lmao: I don't think I've ever heard Lainey talk about anything other than college football!

Bethie, I'm just happy it's NOT the Redskins. No offense to Joe Gibbs, I really like the man, but the fans are so annoying!

Sounds like a good method to me ::yes::
I hate football, but ....it is Seattle ...and they have never been to the Superbowl.

Elaine... :rotfl: Both were appropriate! Jarrod had an awful day. We had had 4 days of bliss so I suppose he is entitled to one day of being a royal PITA. The therapist said to send him to his room to "regroup". So that is what I have been telling him, not that it is punishment but a chance for him to calm down and "join the family". Well, after dragging him kicking and screaming up to his room two times and then having to stand in the doorway so he didn't escape he finally stayed there. Although one time he screamed at me that he was NOT going to "regroup" :lmao: so I just stood there and counted to 50 (to heck with 10!! ) however, by the time he went to bed he was calm...me on the other hand went straight for the fridge to retrieve a blackberry bacardi drink!! However, not really enough alchol to do much!!

So we have a yaya rivalry going on!! cool!! My official position is I want the team with the most points to win!! :teeth:

Amanda...sorry the sibs are being a pain...i'd be ticked too if someone said that to my kids! Hope you get some rest from your weekend.

Suzanne...mmm Breadsticks....that is what Jarrod calls Olive Garden. He has since he was old enough to say breadsticks...that's how he identifies it! We love that place. We did Silver Diner for dinner on Friday. It was very good.

Karen...my migraines are caused by a number of things...hormones and stress are the main ones. I think stress is the key one right now....it seems that it happens most when I have to be home with my children for any lenght of time!! :teeth:

ack...been here longer than I meant to. Gotta go see what my students are up to. Back later!
tara

Morning Ya Yas!

I did take the Ya Yas advice--stayed home.

Amanda, good for you! I'm with ya there.

Sports fans, I'm in it for the commercials on the Big Day! My light has been snuffed as far at the sports competition thing goes. I feel big business has completely removed any teamness and therefore competition. Sad for me.

Suzanne, hope your appointment is proceeding with good results.

Tara, glad you had at least a couple of good days there.

Beth, hope your visit is great and just long enough.

Ted as at Dr. now having a stress test, dye and all. Waiting anxiously for good word.

Okay you goofs... the Steeler's is there for a day or so... I think I will wind up taking it out soon because I dont' like the way it looks ;) But it is there for a friend mostly. Showing my support for her on another thread.

And sorry, the Seahawks beat the Redskins... no way in... well... ain't now way I could root for them and not be shot in this house. Plus the Steeler's were my "team" when the antichrist up and moved my team to Baltimore.

Truthfully, I don't care one way or the other since I will be at WDW the day of the game anyway :p

So no real rivalry here... not like when poor Jay was going for Miami and me for OSU way back for the 2002 season champs... poor guy, took it well, and at least I didn't rub it in ;) Suzanne got it, I am a college football fan, not a pro sports person much at all. Pro athletes in general don't really "do much" for me. In the end, I really don't care. I'd like the Steelers to win, however, if they don't, trust me, I won't be the least bit upset!

But Suzanne, um... we're a Redskins house here... or Luis is... so gentle ;) However we aren't local so I am sure we aren't anywhere near the same. Though I will admit, the Redskins fans are far less annoying than the Brown's fans!

Amanda, that does sound like a nice weekend, up until the pizza thing. I don't think you were wrong. The girls need to eat so make that a priority! And it seemed to speed up decision making.

Tara, I used to have to do that with a spoiled girl I used to sit for... of course for totally different reasons. Boy would she pitch a fit... then she'd start bawling and screaming saying "I'm calm now! Let me out!" Um... yeah... it was cute and I learned to ignore a lot thanks to her ;)

Lily, I do hope the day off does you a lot of good! And I'll keep good thoughts for Ted with the test. Any reason why he is going in?

Well I have some cleaning to do today and I want to return a skirt. Otherwise, not much going on.

I was standing there doing something for kids church and the director Jane came in and said. My God have you lost weight.....

Funny, if someone said "My God" in church, I wouldn't think they meant me; and I would really be concerned that they were seeing changes in His appearance :teeth:

Congratulations on the 30 lbs; I would call that significant. ::yes::

Alan you are so bad!!! :lmao:

Eyes don't want to stay open...must find a giant cup of coffee to keep me awake...apparently my 44 oz of diet coke aren't doing there thing...except giving me lots of exercise!! :teeth: !!!

Wow, I finally got through! Granted I had computer troubles that kept me out a while, but the server busy kept making it worse!

I agree Nancy! I do think that watching the game will be nothing compared to what we'll be up to! I need to make more concrete plans for that day!

Alan *sigh* if you weren't so cute.......

;)

Tara, just take a nap... who wants to exercise that much anyway? ;)
