Hey Y'alluns! Congratulate me on finally booking our first cruise.

We are sailing out of Mobile in May to go to Costa Maya and Cozumel!

Some excitement....not of the good time. One of M'Cori's bridesmaids (the one that came over from Peru for the wedding) was in a plane crash a few months ago. M'Cori just heard about it. She was going on her honeymoon. They both survived, but were in the hospital for several months and are still recovering.
The visa process was sped up because her DH needs more surgery.
And good thoughts you have to spare....they could use them.
Monica doesn't want to talk about it much.....half the plane didn't survive

Junior is at the plant as I type. I'm really hoping they will have a job for him, it will relieve alot of stress from us both.

Nancy, that is so very scary & sad I can't even imagine what that would be like!

Sherry, keeping my fingers crossed for Junior! I hope he does come back with good news!

I changed my kids into new outfits today. It was so spring like out that I felt good putting Larissa in a newer outfit with a cute little beaded cami top!!

I'll have to take pics soon

Oh and I think I found a way to make capris of my own. I might attempt it tonight on a pair of jeans. I just had zero luck otherwise.

Evening, all. Doctor's appointment had a few surprises, including a referral to a cardiologist before I have any surgical procedures . Okay, one more for the list! We'll see what the Rheumatologist says on Monday before I freak out too much.

Thanks for the responses to my pm's. I'll be getting back to everyone tonight. Thanks to Liz for her input.

I have to work tomorrow. My extra day off will probably happen next week. Just as well-I loafed around with the three days I had. We'll have a nice dinner tonight and take down the Christmas decorations.

MIL's bones are healing nicely. She starts PT tomorrow, but has be strapped together for a couple of months.

Lily, brava on your Goofy achievement! That is SO awesome. I haven't even done a 5k, and you finished 40 miles-in two days!

Alan, enjoy your cruise. Contemplating it for the 10th anniversary, but shhhh, it's a surprise.

Sherry, hoping they had work for Junior!

Nancy, that's horrible! I hope they're mending physically. Emotionally, it's going to take them a long time to heal.

Lainey, right there with capris. I'm buying some really cute pj's at the store but they're a mile too long for me. I'd rather they be capris. Anyone for valentine scrunchies from the excess?

If I didn't actually sail on teh same boat Alan is taking out of Mobile, I'd believe that would be more his style! He might be shocked and have no clue what to do with himself on a *real* cruise ship.

hi gang,
wasn't around much today because I was playing on the restaurant board and the family board. I guess i was really bored at work today!!

Here's a funny for you...shows you just what a moron I am...I gave my kids assessments this week to determine if they have to stay in the reading class. So I give the 6th graders the ones that are different from the 7th and 8th. I was very proud of myself that I remembered to do it that way.

So yesterday I was grading one boy's and I expected him to test out of my class but instead of only getting one or two wrong out of the 48 he got 43 wrong So I talked to him and asked why he thought he did poorly. So I told him I would let him take it again the next day and see if he had better luck. Not the best option but the only one I could come up wiht. In the meantime I graded two more tests and came up with the kids doing poorly too. So now i'm thinking that instead of instilling knowledge in children I'm really sucking them dry of their knowledge.

Well, this morning as I sat contemplating the reason for their poor performance it hit me. They were using the "K" book and I was grading it using the test they were SUPPOSED to take, the "L" book So once I graded it correctly the poor boy only had five wrong!!! He scored out two grades above his current grade. I left my other kids and ran down the hall to tell him that not onlly did he do much better than I thought but he was actually going to get out of my class!!! Before I knew it,he threw his arms around me and gave me the biggest hug. I felt horrible for making the poor kid think he had done so bad. But all is well now!!

Okay, gotta balance the check book...ugh! I hate doing this now that I'm responsible for all the bills in the house. I just wish Social Security would decide if mom qualifies or not! But hey, she is my dependant for tax time! woohoo! I didn't even have to give birth to get more dependents!!

Morning all...

Nothing much going on here...just working. Tonight I have one of the girls friends and his Mom coming over. Hoping to finish the first step of my quilt hanging tonight.

Girls were up early this morning. Mandy wanted chocolate chip pancakes and was really helping to free up my time for that. Her and Cassie folded the towels. Mandy helped me start a load of colored clothes and then helped with packing her lunch. The both helped with the pancake ingredients.
I love my girls! They have been wonderful 99% of this week.

Prayers for all those going through tough time right now.

Amanda, it sounds like your young uns are truly growing up! They do that, sigh. Glad you are able to enjoy this time with them. Now get them to scrub floors (buy a couple extra toothbrushes for those extra hard to reach spots) and all the rest of those fun chores!


Tara, ooohh boy, glad ya got that test thing figured out. I guess that young man really did sweat a bit. Nice to have the resulte b4 he went home to tell his family. Disney cruise--they keep the kids, you play.

Tara, I am just glad you figured out what happened with the test! I couldn't imagine how someone could miss that many otherwise
Oh and I can kind of relate to your friend. The first capris that came out came down to my ankles. I looked like a fool. Some of the shorter ones got to be okay, but still not right.
Good luck with cleaning too... I've done that a lot lately myself

Amanda, enjoy the time with the girls' friend and mom. That was so sweet what your girls did this morning though. You really have two great kids there
