Just got home for the evening.

Karen, I am sorry for you and boss's family. Been saying prayers all day and thinking. Good idea about debriefing, you have certainly gone through a ton in such a short time. Praying for you and your good future too now.

Elaine, sorry 'bout Grumpy.

Todd, I'll never remember all those smileys. I have trouble with real names. So I give up before I get started.

JRKaren, yippee that you got a better deal. I figure if a year is up and your one takes a dump then it will be time for a new one. Start saving! Yay for the extra $$$!

Nancy, so you are giving it an ok to see--Cursed. I probably won't get to a movie this weekend.

Beth, glad you are safe. It is snowing here now. Alberta clipper on the way. Have fun this weekend.

Sherry, you're really gonna keep yours? Well that's cool.

John, you're gonna be 50 this year? Seems like some sort of special trip should be in order to celebrate that passing. Ya gonna celebrate whislt you are down there?

Alan, hope things start improving there healthwise and that you don't get it.

We're watching the ending of the auto show here on TV it starts tonight. DH wants to go, we'll see. I wanna go to the iPod store, I mean Apple store to see what kind of new toys they have there and then to the Cheesecake Factory tomorrow. Wonder if we will.

I haven't even started my shopping, I cannot believe some of you are already done and almost ready to ship! I guess I best get on it this weekend for sure. Have no idea what I wanna get yet so it will be a full fledged shopping event.

Nancy, very true... hopefully he'll snap out of it soon

Lily, I am not done shopping... I do have it started, but I might not get to it until next weekend. I kind of want to go to a certain store that is out of my way.

Seems we are skipping going out tonight by suggestion of Luis... should be a lazy one for me. Maybe I'll get some reading in :)

I love teaching...most of the time! LOL! I love the kids, I love actually teaching. I disllike the paperwork and the junk that goes with it. But you know what I really hate? I hate when something happens to one of my kids. I had to turn a kid in today to Child Protective Services. :( I have managed to go 12 years and only have to do this 2 times. It just made me absolutely sick! I can't say anything specific but I know it was founded and I know that it will be persued. You know...as much as my kids make me crazy I can't understand parents that do **** like this!!

Anyway, I just wanted to share. Its days like this when I really hate my job!!

Oh well, did retail therapy this afternoon and got some scrapbooking stuff..gonna go sort it now.

I'll let you all know how our mini yaya meet goes tomorrow....maybe Beth will bring her snow with her :teeth:

tara

Tara -  and one more  for good measure.

You did the right thing - and I'm glad there's caring teachers like you in the world!

Elaine - I had a lazy night, too. Well - after I ran DS to Scout camp for the weekend, then came home and ran his boots and OA Sash back to him. (I took the dog because he is suffering from SADD and is depressed with all of the snow. Then the dog and I went to McDonald's for dinner! :rotfl: I'm pathetic, huh?? We had cheeseburgers and ice cream. I had fries, but he doesn't like them!) DH made soup. :sad2:

Lily - any new sparklies this week?????

Beth - all is forgiven - come home little Sheba, come home! ;) Oh - and you can ring my beeeelllllllll, ring my bell, ring my bell! :teeth:

Tara,

Oh, Nancy, I'd like to see Cursed, but not in the theater. Can't do scary movies in theaters. :earseek:

Elaine, sorry you have to deal with a Grumpy tonight.

Lily, we are going to the Auto Show on Monday. We got 2 free tix in the mail from Chrysler and its family day......all kids 15 and under are free! :bounce: :bounce:

Page 2?? :earseek:

Just bumping up..

:sunny: Ihave a hard time remembering the smilies too..lol...

Hi.. princess: ..

Hi :duck:

Hi pirate:

 ...took the dog to Mcd's?? :rotfl2: you never cease to amaze me...Always doing something silly... :goodvibes

:teacher: sorry to hear you had to turn a child over to Child Protective Services...what is with people? :sad2:

Hi

Hi :scared1: ..

Good morning, everyone!

I'm enjoying my new new iPod. It definitely was worth switching. One of my complaints about the old iPod was that it didn't get all that loud, not that I like it blaring in my ears all the time, but sometimes I need it a little louder when I'm commuting. This one has more of a volume range.

Hi Todd  You sure are becoming the smilie king, aren't you?

Sherry, have fun at the auto show. I'm sure all the J's will love it :)

Pam, you took the dog to McDonalds? Do they have special Happy Meals for Fido now? Oh and

Tara, sorry you had to turn a kid in to child protective services. I can understand how that feels. But you know you did what was best for the child.

Elaine, hope you enjoyed your lazy night! I'm having a semi-lazy weekend this weekend. I'm going to be doing so much travelling next week that I wanted to just chill this weekend. I think I'm going to straighten up my room, and do some laundry, though.

Lily, are you obsessed with iPod now? Going to the Apple Store? I try to avoid the Apple store. I keep on wanting to buy things to go with my iPod mini. I already spent $40 on two different cases for it (one's a hard plastic one to protect the screen, the second one is a soft padded black one that can attach to the shoulder strap of my bag when I'm commuting. I have been so tempted to get the docking station and some speakers, but I'm holding off on that for now.

Hi Bethie, glad you made it safe and sound. I have to remember to send you a PM this weekend about meeting up in DC on Wednesday. I leave on Monday. I may end up taking an earlier flight down on Monday, as we are expecting a storm--but you alredy knew that because it's all your fault.

Hi Nancy! You are so good, already having your exchange done and just about ready to send out.

Well, that will do it for now.

JellyrollsKaren

Tara, I am so proud of you that you knew to call Child Protective Services and did. (Some we encountered either chose to ignore, were stupid or were afraid to report until the laws were changed) I know it is so difficult. When I worked in the PD one of the guys and me used to present a program in our local schools to kids on just that topic along with some stranger danger stuff. Hopefully your child will find a better life after all is resolved.

JRKaren, I have envy of everyone with new electronic gadgets! Wish I could afford everything. I would love to be Bill Gates' best friend and hope he took care of me!
My coworker told me that we had an Apple store in the new shopping area not too far from here so I thought I just had to go look at the new toys. I like going into the Bose store too. Didja see the docking station they have for iPods! Oooohmy! Since I've been wanting to make a trip to the Cheesecake Factory there too, thought it might be a great opportunity to look see.

Pam, does your dog understand the word McDonalds yet? No new sparklies I am thinking for quite some time. Must gather $ for vacas now.

Hi Todd!

Sherry, lucky you for free tickets.

Everyone, later...

Morning All,

Kinda achey this morning. I think from keeping so taut for so much of the day yesterday trying to maintain my composure. As soon as dh gets up to turn on the hot water heater for me Im going to take a nice hot shower with my lavender stuff. That should help me feel better. Both boys have bball games today so that should be a fun diversion for me. I so love watching them play. I'm going to beg off of doing Kidz Church tomorrow too. I feel the need to make this weekend as stress free as I can and to spend some quality calming family time with the kids and dh.

Bethie have fun ding-a-linging this weekend. Sounds like a really busy schedule.

Sherry congrats on the tix. I bet you will all have a blast.

Tara I am so sorry you had to turn a child over to Childrens Protective Services. That is so sad that parents can do things to warrent that.

Karen Im glad you got a better deal on the ipod.

Pam I think its cute that you took the dog to McDees.

Hi Lily. Who won today on what you will do you or dh?

Elaine is grumpy better this morning?

I was able to get an appointment with the therapist for last night. It is someone I have known for years so she knows me very well. I told ya all when I felt I needed it I would go and I kept to my word. It felt good to talk everything out and it went well. She also assured me that I am not manic depressive. This was also confirmed by the family therapist that we see whom I talked to on the phone about it.

Well I guess I better get the guys up and fed. Will checkin laters.

HUGS TO ALL :grouphug:

Morning!! Can't believe it is Saturday and I am up and ready to go before 7 am.....what is up with that? Actually, Greg wants to go look at some wheels for his car, so we are taking a road trip. Should be a bit of fun for the day!! Love just getting up and going...

Lily, have a fun day of shopping and cheesecaking!! Have a piece of lc cheesecake for me if you would. Heck, since you are having it....make it the real stuff....any flavor will do and get LOTS of whipped cream!! Thanks!! I feel better already about those calories!! :teeth:

Karen, sounds like the iPod is really cool! On my commute to the city, everybody seemed to have the minis. A few had shuffles...but just about everybody had some sort of headphone attached to their ears! Funny how that is such a common thing in the city, but not so much here! Get well rested this weekend and enjoy your travels!!

:wave2: Todd!! No energy to wrack my brain with the smilie list.....I will try harder later!! Have a great weekend!

Sherry, have a great time at the car show. We missed it this year. I am with oyu on the scary movies at the theater...I will watch them here, where I can scream like a school girl....just not at the theater....although, you all know how often I watch movies!!

Pam, funny about Gunny!!! No fries......send them here...that is Barkley's favorite part of the dinner! Poor liitle guy has not had a fry yet this year....but neither have we!!! Me thinks Barkley hates the low carb thing....I think he misses DQ as much as me!! Enjoy your quiet weekend!!

Tara, I am so sorry you feel so bad!! Know that you are making a differance in somebody's life. I had an aunt and an uncle that were foster parents and they really gave LOTS of kids a very nice home....and so many of those kids had been through so much. I think they fostered well over 200 kids....some for a very short time, but 10 of those 200 hundred stayed with them for their whole "childhood" and several more were adopted by them. Know that you did the right thing!!

Elaine, hope Grumpy is in a better mood today!! I hate it when that happens!!

Nancy, what are your plans this weekend? Anything fun and exciting to do?

Suzanne, how is the visit going? I win!!! Please send my prize!!! LOL!!

Bethie, have fun with all the ding dongs you are ding a linging with!!

And that conclues this portion of the ketchup as the master of the house is ready to leave!!

So, off we go for a fun filled day!! Hope you all have lots of sunshine and all that jazz!!

Catch you later! :rolleyes1

Morning all... lazing in bed with Gwenie as Grumpy (Luis) sleeps. I know his foul mood started when I was ticked off that the alarm didn't get set. In a huff, he moved it over to my side of the room and still can't seem to let go of it all. We'll see how he is today. Fortunately I have plans so I can ignore him if need be.

Tara  I am so sorry... I cannot even imagine how hard that would be  But remember, I know you did the right thing, and it took guts to make the call.

Actually Pam, I didn't find a bit about that pathetic. We used to take our dog to DQ all the time :teeth: Sounds quite nice actually :)

Oh, have fun at the Auto show, Sherry!!! I love going to those!

Howdy Todd... me thinks you are loving the smilies a wee bit too much :p

JRKaren, enjoy the quiet weekend. I have some cleaning/laundry to do as well, and my shopping but it will be my way and that makes me happy! If I don't want to do something, I surely won't!

Lily, my iPod came with a docking station and I love it! It's nice to have around for at home. I can also hook it up to my system at home on my computer and get great sounds in my room :)

Karen, I hope you can make your weekend as stress free as possible.

Liz, have fun shopping for wheels! Luis seems to have that itch as well. I kind of like the ones I currently have myself, but he really seems to want a low profile tire and larger rims.

I probably should get in the shower soon... not sure waht time the stores open, but I would like to get most done before lunch :)

Karen---just rub the IPOD thing in..:duck:...I thing the smiley thing is quickly fading... :rolleyes1

Lily--New toys??..YAY!!!!..Love the electronics stores...It was funny on a dis meet in Ohio one time me & coqui(Luis) went into the Bose store and stayed for a small presentation..

Karen--good to see ya back on the dis..Keeping you in our prayers..

Liz--have fun shopping... :wave2:

Elaine--:duck:

My mom calls me at 8:30 this morning..Did I get you up?.. ..Well, I've been working 2nd shift the last 4 years and I typically sleep in on saturdays since I have to get up early on sunday for church & every other day in the week to get Mandy to school and then she's in a hurry to get me off the phone...hold on, you got me up, WE'RE TALKING... :rolleyes1

Morning, all! The class I wanted to take this morning is full, so I get to ketchup a bit and then check out the vendors!! I saw tons of neat handbell themed stuff as I was passing thru yesterday, so I'm glad I have some time to browse.

 Todd!!

Karen, I'm so glad you were able to get in to see the therapist. Those must be some mighty fine doctors you see! It took 3 weeks of 24/7 observation before they were able to diagnose my son's manic depression!!

Liz, have fun shopping for wheels! I like the shiny silver ones that spin. Oh, wait--those are wheel COVERS! Never mind.

Lainey, so sorry you have Grumpy on your hands. Just keep thinking.....less than 3 months!!!!!!!

Pammy, thanks for letting me out of the corner. I knew I could count on my fearless dance team captain!! So, do we get to march in an Easter parade this year or are you makin' us wait for Memorial Day?

Tara, that is just the pits that you had to go to such lengths for that child, but I'm so glad you intervened. Hopefully, he/she will go on to find that life does not have to be so ugly.

YUMMY!!! Lily is gonna stop at the Cheesecake Factory!! Definitely, have a bite for me!! Have fun shopping, too!!

Jellybean, m'dear, I have begged and begged the weather people to cancel that storm on Monday, but they just turn a deaf ear! I was down on my knees all night about it, too!! I will keep my fingers crossed that you will be able to get into DC safely and we'll hook up on Wednesday. Dave wants to know if this is a girls-only meet or if he gets to squire a pair of lovely ladies to dinner.

I have to tell ya'll--this is sooo funny!! A fellow bell ringer tried to log onto HER favorite bulletin board last night after I mention I was able to get on here. Snicker-snicker!! Her site was BLOCKED for inappropriate content!!!!! Turns out, it's a Clay Aiken fan site and they have a section of fan-fiction. I guess some of those fans post some rather lusty stories!!

Off for a little retail therapy before rehearsal! Ya'll have a great day!!
See you soon, Tara!!!!

Why yes Beth they are mighty fine doctors at that, that I have known and been treated by in individual therapy, marriage counseling, and family therapy since 1991. I think they are more than qualified to diagnose me. Better than someone who has met me only a few times, talked to me on the phone a few times, and only sees print of what I say and do and also from somone who I have never met and only sees the print on the page. Read what you wrote about your son and how they diagnosed him and then read what I just wrote about our relationships and then ask yourself how you and Liz are qualified to diagnose me better than doctors whom have known and treated me over 14 years. And dont you worry your pretty little locks about my kids. Per the family therapist they are very happy, well adjusted little individuals, who are very independent and have few if any fears of anything. I thank you both for your concern but admit to yourselves you are wrong and lets just go on from here.

Sorry you all had to be a party to this. Let's just change the subject now.

Does anyone know if Lane Bryant still has winter colors out or have they gone to spring colors? I have to buy either a black or navy dress or skirt and top for the services for my boss and Im trying not to run around too much this weekend. I thought I would try there if they still had their winter colors out.

Gotta get the littlest ready for his bball game. I will be back laters.

HUGS TO ALL :grouphug:

Hello again everyone!

Lily, have fun at the Apple store. I got the blue mini. I kind of liked the green, too, but thought that it was a bit too dark for my tastes. I didn't like the pink, and the silver one was boring. I don't have a Bose store near me, so I haven't seen their speakers for the iPod. I have been drooling over some of the ones at the Apple store, though. Enjoy the Cheesecake Factory! I love their food.

Karen, glad to hear that you got in to see the therapist last night. I'm sure it talked. Try to relax this weekend.

Bethie, I hope that Dave will join us on Wednesday night. I would love to see him again :)

Todd, sorry to rub it in about the iPod. I'm psyched about my new new one. Can't you just not feed one of the kids for a few weeks so you can get one ;) Maybe they'll be deals out there on the old style ones. I know the Best Buy near my office knocked the price of the old ones down to $179.

Liz, have fun on your road trip with Greg today :)

Later.

JellyrollsKaren

Mean Elaine coming here...

If y'all have issues with each other KEEP IT IN PM! Do not use this thread to get nasty with each other please!!

I hope that is the LAST time I feel like I have to say ANYTHING like that on this thread!

heading out to shop soon... kind of tired though... stayed up way too late reading I think. But even though I am not in a shopping mood per say, my 50% off coupons I have cannot go to waste... especially given the spring clothes are out in full force and I am in need of shorter sleeved shirts for spring & summer :)

LOL, Beth... actually we are closer to 2 months at this point!!! Hey that's what I am telling myself. Oh for kicks, I looked up convertable rentals... I am just too dang cheap to do it. Some day I might though...

that was too funny about the Aiken site :teeth:

Karen, spring colors are out everywhere, but don't worry, black is still everywhere as is Navy. Quite popular for business casual.

Karen sneated and I forgot to say something to Todd...

Karen, don't feel too bad... I rub things in all the time like that ;) Seriously though very cool you can get such a good deal on it! I am just about to go out and look into an auxilary input adapter for my iPod for my car :)

Todd, I so forgot to do this :rotfl:

Good for you for keeping her on longer ;) I usually tell a few friends when it is too early "No one of my friends or family would call me at this hour unless it is an emergency" They haven't called before 9 am on a weekend in a long time :p

:rotfl:
shep said:
 ...took the dog to Mcd's?? :rotfl2: you never cease to amaze me...Always doing something silly... :goodvibes

Well..... Wendy's was too far away to take the bugger and so was Arby's. (Plus it costs a fortune to feed him at Arby's!! :earseek: )

Liz - sounds like you have a fun-filled day!! :teeth: New wheels? I need new wheels, and a frame and a body and an interior - well heck - a new car! I actually have one - it's very luxurious and ohhhh so expensive and it looks swell as it sits down in the college classrooms. (I bet the Chauncellor of the college got a new car - he just got a raise to $498,000 per YEAR, plus benfits and housing! :faint:)

We take the dog to the DQ too! In fact - the sign proclaimed the joyous news that the DQ will open on Tuesday!!!! :Pinkbounc Oh Happy Day! I am already tasting that banana split.

JRKaren - we've tried the not feeding the kids thingie that you suggested to Shep, it doesn't work. The little monsters would go to school or Church or call up Grandma on the phone and cry, "We're starving. Mom and Dad spent the food money on lottery tickets AGAIN!" Inconsiderate little twits. I mena - hey, we let them sleep in the doghouse with the dog - it they curled up, it was semi-warm. There were some old bones in there - it wasn't like there wasn't ANY food out there.

;)

Lily - he does understand the word McDonald's. He and I are the only two in the house who will eat there. If you yell, "Want to go to McDonald's?" He tears through the house and skids to a stop in front of the door and tries to pull his leash down! I've created a monster, though - if we go to the drive-through back he expects food to be handed back!

Beth - I booked us a gig marching in the St. Paddy's today Parade. :cheer2: But I must emphasis it's the wearing of the green. Heavy emphasis on "wearing". For this special day we will dye our Standard Issue White Undergarment green. EVERYONE (ahemBethahem) will wear undergarments! No exceptions! We will NOT have a repeat of two years ago and the fiasco from someone (ahemBethahem) causing the old men at the retirement home to increase their oxygen intake!

Oh - and it's snowing AGAIN! (ahemBethahem)

Today there is a surprise 40th birthday for our 2 friends (yeah, we hang out with youngsters! :teeth: ) They are married - her Mom is planning the party. I have to go get 2 of her sons from camp, they're down there with my son.

Well - dirty dishes and laundry are calling my name and I have to dash into the post office as well.

I'll try the smilie secret code later!
:lovestruc

Morning, all. Got a little bit of time to myself. One of our neighbors has offered to take the boys to fun day at Kevin's school, so Ed dropped them off and is going over to the area that his sister is interested in moving to.

Been skimming here and there, but haven't done a proper ketchup. I'm still a hivey mess, it spread. Yuck! I have an appointment for Wednesday, If they're still around then, I will not be happy!

:rolleyes1: Liz, I was looking at a prize for you yesterday!!! :rotfl:

 Beth, sounds like you'll be a busy lady this weekend, but with lots of fun. I performed with a voice choir, but every concert we did had the bells, too. Never had that till I moved to Maryland! Not one, but two yaya meets this week-lucky duck!

:duck: Elaine, hope your day gets better. At the store, there's a really cute "I Love Grumpy" t-shirt. Good way to drop a hint, lol! I used to do a lot of that same "No one would call me at this hour" stuff, especially when I got home from work at midnight or one. Kids changed that, tho.

:teacher: Tara, I'm so sorry that you had to go through that. Will the child still stay in your school? Hoping that CPS keeps some stability for the student. :grouphug: This is for you, because doing the right thing isn't always easy.

:scared1: Karen, hope the weather cooperates on your trip to DC. Sorry I'm not around there anymore to see you, but I'm sure I'll get to see you one of these days!

 Pam, cute about the french fries! I had one that would eat just about anything he could get his hands on-even baby oil smelled appetizing to him!

Karen, I'm sorry about your boss. Working hin the mall, the spring stuff is all out, but black and navy are basics that you can find year round. If you've got an Avenue near you, the have tons of Navy and Black--picked up a pair of dress slacks from them last week.

pirate: Nancy, I once got a really nice LBD from Old Navy, some of the bigger stores have a dressier line. Need to get back to my usual weight to wear it, though.

Lily :sunny:, sounds like this little guy :music: should be you! How was cheesecake factory? Never been, but had their cheesecake at TGI Fridays!

Eeek, where did the time go? I have to skedaddle and get a cake. My boss got promoted and one of the other managers is transferring to another store. With the cold, I'm not baking anything, so off to the bakery for me!
