Hi All,

Well work was interesting today to say the least. I still have not gone into my bosses office yet. Just couldnt make myself go in there.

I did however get the job in the office next door. Its less money and less hours but it is close to home and my kids school so I can still drop them off in the morning, I am more than qualified for the job, and it's for a one doctor office which is a dying breed anymore and it's what I have worked in for the last 18 years. I really dont think I could work in a multi doctor office where you have to answer to 35 people. I am also working with someone I have known and been friends with for 10 years. Im excited. A little scared about our finances but it will all work out Im sure. I will also be working at the old job for awhile during the evenings and Friday. What I still have to do for them can be done at that time so I will still be paid by them for the hours I work and I will just sock that money away. I am glad I did what I did today because the bosses wife was talking with our office manager today and said you might tell the girls to start looking because although Im going to try to sell the practice Im not gonna go all out on it. I start at the new job tomorrow. I had to go buy scrubs tonight. I got some really cute tops on sale, two pairs of pants, and a pair of shoes as my tennies are getting grungy. So I will be all decked out pretty tomorrow! God closed a door but opened a window for me.

I am so tired tonight I will try to ketchup in the morning but I did want to say......

Good Morning All,

Well Im all ready to start my new job this morning. I have my scrubbies on. Im wearing a Poohbear scrub top and white pants. The kids gave me their Poohbear note pad so I can take notes today. Im nervous but Im sure I will do fine. I wont be able to checkin from work because they dont have internet access in the office. My late bosses viewing and service is tonight so it's going to be an interesting day and evening for me. I will get through both just fine though.

Well gotta get the boys some breakfast as we have to get to school early so that I can get to work by 8:00 instead of 8:30 like I have been used to doing. Have a great day all.

Bethie, glad that Karen made it there... just in time for all teh snow too. Stay safe out there. The news said the roads weren't terrible, but schools were still closed in the DC area.

Thank you though... I needed a reminder to call my friend Marc. I meant to call him back last night but I wound up doing all that housework.

HI everyone!! This thread kept booting me off my computer on Sunday so I am about 5 pages behind - I will just say hellllooooooo to everyone!!



We got about 6 inches of snow again last night - kids had a 1 hour delay.

MY daughter has chosen her college - SUNY (State University) - Albany - she was accepted into their scholars program. Surprisingly - although they started out looking at colleges together - her boyfriend is not considering this one. I am proud that she made the decision on her own. (That's why she was so stressed last week - she didn't know how to tell him that she had made her decision).

Finally took my son's TV to be repaired yesterday.

I'll check in again later.

*** this snow is going to put me behind again in my exchanges - I just know it!!

Going to take mom out to lunch today for her birthday..I think we're giving up on gifts and gonna try this...Seems whatever we buy gets taken back anyways...

SNOW DAY!!!!


Got the call at 5:35 am that there was a 2 hour delay then at 5:47 am, it got upgraded to a cancellation!

Sherry - tell you boys to have heart - this storm was supposed to hit us at 11:00 pm on Sunday night and didn't come in until 5:00 pm Monday. The main roads are pretty clear right now - but the back roads are a total mess - that's why we got the cancellation - in our school district there are 500 miles of roads - mostly back roads.

Paula - Congratulations to your DD! They can surprise you sometimes, can't they? My DD chose to go to a different college than her BF and so far it's working for them. That's great that she got admitted into the honors program, too! My DD is being inducted into the Honor Society at the University in April!!

DisFan--great to hear your dd selected a college. I have a junior right now still contemplating where to go. Though so far he is thinking about the University of Houston. We live in Houston so alteast I wouldnt have to pay for him to stay on campus.

Sherry, our "huge snow storm" seems to have fizzled too. There is snow but not a heck of a lot.

Paula, congratulations to your DD!! That is a rough decision to make... esepcially with her b/f going elsewhere. Glad she is standing on her own though

Deena, I think it would probably be about the same amount of time for Mears as for the Magical Express... I would imagine about 1 hour or so. I suppose we can call DVC to see if they have more info now.

Good morning, all! We got another inch or two of the heavy white stuff last night, so we ended up with about 4 1/2 inches. Schools in our county are closed again today, but in the next county over to the east, they just have a 2 hour delay--go figure!!

Awwww, Sherry, sorry the boys were disappointed with the snowfall. Had to drag themselves to school, huh? Hope your day is a good one!!

Paula, what a wonderful display of strength of character your DD is showing in making her college choice! How DID the bf take it? I know it's a good school, hope she has plenty of warm clothes, though!!

Todd, we've had to give up on gifts for my MIL, too. No sense in buying more clutter for her house anyway. We try to send flowers and go visit since she can't get out anymore. Hope you enjoy your lunch with your mom--wish her a happy day from me too!

So how's the roadkill business, Pam, with all this snow? At least with the cold, you have some natural preservative, huh?!! Enjoy the snow day! I know it sure made MY commute a lot easier this morning!

Deena, I think you will just have to take the kids out of school and come visit us for awhile! We have a nice big area behind our apartment building where they can play in the snow and have a good ole snowball fight and everything!!

Just got some bad news......my son just called from New Orleans where he stopped to visit his grandmother. His truck was broken into yesterday and they cleaned him out--took everything but one boot!! He doesn't even have a change of clothes!!! So he is off to get his back window replaced and will have to stay in NO for a bit to make some $$. His dad wired him some and I will too, but he needs to replace all his tools and climbing gear. That's several thousand dollars! Dang, the poor guy was finally getting set up in his chosen vocation and doing reasonably well!! What a PITA!!!
