Morning, all.

Had a nice sleep in. Gotta get going early today and find a 12v plug for the laptop. My car has four 12v adapters and it would make sense to have one to use in the car. Three are in the main compartment, so the kids can each have a plug when they play those gameboys.

Got a WDW run going on one of the days this weekend. We'll be going to the state fair one of those days, too. Now that Ed's doing the ebay thing, he's been a smart cookie and researching what sells and for how much. Anyone have topper requests? Let me know, and I'll get them. I did a buy it now last night for a st. patty's from DL that looks really cool. I go overboard for the Irish holiday, so it makes sense that my car will be decorated.

Kim, yuck. I had a dog who got skunked once and that was quite enough! He also had a nasty habit of rolling in deer poop to mask his scent. Good news on the no infections. SIL went through the same thing two months ago-came through fine, I'm sure your MIL will do fine, too.

No longer doing the Lent thing, but some of the things carry over when you spend 20 years as a Catholic, like the no meat on fridays. That's where the fondue pot will get a lot of use.

Went to some outlet stores yesterday and once we left, Ed asked 'where was the Vans store?". On the brochure, they were listed and we promised Kevin he could get some new ones. Little guy went through a box of shoes that no longer fit, and he was insisting they'd still fit-told him we'd go to the Van's store for a new pair.

Did get a new LeCreuset pot. We have a 5.5 qt and a 1.5 qt, so now I've got the blue in a 3.5. Yep, we're foodies, but gosh, it's so nice to have pots you don't have to scrub within an inch of your lives...and they seem to not mind the electric burners.

Which reminds me, need to go to the Harry and David site and see if something's been discontinued-salesperson said she hadn't seen Apricot Butter in months and it's Neil's favorite. Considering how hard it can sometimes be to get food into him, I will buy something expensive if I know he'll eat it.

Nancy, bummer about Dish. We loved when we first had Direct TV. We lived in the middle of nowhere, so we got the national feed for the networks (I'd only been able to get NBC before the dish). We got east and west coast feeds for all of them, so I could watch things later on if I got home from work at 11pm! Now they've fixed that and you can only get your local network affiliates.

Have fun folks!

Suzanne

Elaine--Pam went horseback riding on the beach....she didn't have a good experience though...

Suzanne--nice to sleep in isn't it?
I got to sleep in til 7:50 today....thats a 1/2 hour more than usual.. :cloud9:

Nancy--good luck finding a comfy chair & finding money... :rolleyes1

Alan--you have to give something up until Easter & can't eat meat on fridays & today...do this & you can say you have participated in lenten activities..

Kimmar--sorry to hear about the skunking...no fun...

Guess I can't say I follow it if I go get barbeque for lunch, huh.

Todd, I know soon enough, Ed will be working and I'll be back to getting up at 6 to get Neil ready...so I am taking full advantage of him getting the kids ready for school right now! I think that he's giving me ample opportunity because I sleep when I'm in pain.

Suzanne

Todd, don't forget the fasting today and on Good Friday as well ;)

I know some have had not so good experiences with excursions, but I admit, I just love horses... the closest place is about an hour away from here that I can ride.

I ought to do it again at WDW though... that was fun :)

Suzanne, sounds like you have been a busy bee lately with the shopping. No topper requests here (I think). But thanks always for the offer. Glad you got to sleep in today. Oh and good luck with the apricot butter. Not sure the last place I've seen it here!

Elaine-- Drats!! I thought for sure you wouldn't know it was me !! :rotfl2:

Good morning, all!!

Eeewwww!!! Sorry about the skunk, Kimmar!! That must have been AWFUL!!! :crazy2: I know I can't stand it just driving past skunk roadkill! At least Morgana is female and doesn't mind being pink!

OOoooooo, Lainey, I want to go horseback riding on the beach too!!! Don't much care if there's a cruise involved or not, I just LOVE riding!

Suzanne, that really IS sweet of Ed to let you sleep in so much! Hope your recovery is proceeding nicely and you are very soon back to something akin to normal! (I know you won't be 100% till you get your Hawaiian treatment......)

Unfortunately, giving up work is frowned upon. Though it would be nice......I have also learned that you can DO something, rather than give something up. Like Amanda said, adding extra prayer or meditation time, a church service or Bible study to your routine is also a way of observing the Lenten activities. You could even read something like "The Purpose Driven Life" and incorporate what you learn from it into your daily life. GREAT book, btw!!! Alan, I'm Protestant, too, and we have extra Lenten stuff at church every year.

Nancy, you mean Christin has decided to go to grad school? Yep, that puts a BIG squeeze on the pocketbook!! Have fun with your retail therapy! I was really disappointed when that traveling Disney store came to town, here. I guess maybe they had been traveling too long because the selection was very meager and there was lots of damaged merchandise.

Glad you had a nice dinner last night, Sherry. Catching some more zzzz's this morning or playing domestic goddess? Hope your day is a good one!

Stacy, how's your day, so far? Are you sittin' around in your jammies, still? I confess, I don't know HOW many times I've gotten up on a day off and gotten so totally immersed in "playing" on the computer that I barely got showered and dressed in time for dinner! Nothing wrong with being comfy, I say!!

Well, the boss is in today and his meeting is over, so I better get back to being busy. Have a GREAT day, ya'll!! :grouphug:

Elaine--fasting as in all day or not eating in between meals?? :earseek:

Beth--you are supposed to give up something you enjoy...:duck:

Suzanne--I guess sleeping in isn't necessarily a good thing if your in pain:sad:

Stacey-- :wave2:

Shep

Beth: actually today I was up, showered, dressed, and doing laundry by 10 am
IF I didn't have to do laundry, I'd probably be in my Jammies still :goodvibes

We are going to a Hockey Game tonight and I can NOT wait.. :cheer2:

Attention YaYa's...

It has come to my attention that some YaYa's are not comfortable with being referred to as "cute".

Even if their picture proves otherwise, I am willing to acknowledge that the phrase cute can be a real punch in the arm to a manly man.

Therefore, I will not refer to them as a cute couple.

They are a sweet, affectionate, lovey couple, but not "cute"

But you have to admit, that both of them and Luis in particular, is adorable!

:wave2:

Went to the grocery store and ran some errands. All the snow that melted with our heatwave is back. :rolleyes1 Supposed to get freezing rain/snow tonight. Blech!

:wave2:

pfhishgirl... got a question for ya.... how do you spell your first name? I'm afraid I've been doing it wrong the whole time :rolleyes1

Bethie, we have a place about an hour south of here that I've gone riding at... it is a lot of fun. Maybe we should do the riding together in December... I think it's been since I was 9 since I did it at WDW

Todd, the technical definition (given by the church) of fasting is two small meals (snacks) and then one medium size meal (like soup and sandwhich) is what fasting is considered. For me personally I have eaten once, and am deciding if I am going to do the 2nd one or not. Only drinks allowable between are also water & milk.

Alan, you are a twit... if you weren't so dang cute yourself I'd hurt ya for that one ;)

Howdy Sherry... we are expecting much of the same here weather wise

Great news! My SIL said that my MIL is actually sitting today, and they have removed more of her tubes and stuff! She has gotten some of her color back, although her throat is sore, so she can't speak well....

Ignore Alan... he's a twit... that's why he works for us here ;)

But thanks... and nope, never did think to look in your sig before I asked... just saw half calling you Stacy and the other half calling you Stacey... I'm not the best with spelling, but for some reason I did notice this :rolleyes1

Kimmar, glad to hear the good news! I would imagine her throat is sore from all those nasty tubes. I hope the rest of her recovery goes smoothly :)
