Evening, all!

Enjoying a lovely beverage while Ed watches SNL. It's kinda funny tonight, didn't think Topher could pull off the live format.

Elaine, I was going to suggest Lands' End, but you got a suit. It's nice! I've got a great Janzen tankini and the one I love is from Lands' End.

Pammy, glad you liked that picture-DH actually pointed it out when we parked the jeep that day. It was one of those moments that made me happy that I always carry the digital camera!

Bethie, dunno if Ikea will have something like that, but if they do, go for it. I think the set of table and 4 chairs was 699. (A lot better then the other arts and crafts style we saw). We plan to start with 6 chairs (2 will go over to the breakfast bar, then get two more chairs later.

You bring up something I miss...the nearest Ikea is in Atlanta, boo hoo. And I need new bookshelves. We use them for our DVD collection, and we're about to fill up the current set.

Liz, jammies are a good idea. Unscented lotions, large print books, favorite snacks are good, too. Even if Greg doesn't thank you now, he'll thank you later for nagging him to do the right thing.

Send me addresses, cold yayas and I'll send you comfy blankies. Gosh, we've got two boxes of them that we thought we 'might need', lol. The flannel comforter still stays on my bed, though, because I love the colors.

Kristy, Derek sure is a keeper, making sure you're taken care of while you're sick.

Caroline, you loooove ketchup, don't ya?

John and Sherry, sounds like you had fun at the pin meet! Sorry Lily didn't get in on that one, though.

JRKaren, that sounds like a good way to honor your mom. I'm spending your birthday knocked out, then doped up!

Depending on the weather, we'll either be hitting the zoo or over to Orlando to try to get our books signed by Alton Brown!

Howdy to everyone I missed.

Suzanne

The parting pic...my topper holder!

I think I got everyone. Let me know if someone was missed......it's going so fast, I might have skipped someone.

Good night.

Nancy, I can't tell you how nice it makes me feel to see my name still on the Ya Ya list. I know I don't hang out here like I used to but I just don't have the time that I used to.

All I can say to anyone that drops in to the Ya Ya thread is that it is a thread filled with some of the most wonderful people that I have ever met. I am so glad that I am affiliated with you.

Betty

Anybody still up?

Feeling quite miserable here. Even though this was my last Prednisone it had to give me a parting shot I guess. I have filled up with so much fluid that it's hard for me to breathe and I am distended out in the stomach to where I look nine months pregnant. My hands and face are also way puffed out. I finally took a diuretic a few minutes ago. I was going to try to wait until morning so Im not up all night but I can't. I would be up anyway because of the breathing.

Oh man I just stepped on the scale. No wonder Im as miserable as I am. I have gained FIFTEEN pounds!!!!! Holy CRUD!!!!

I'm up, making an album of the house progress on Imagestation, lol!

Hang in there...steroids are a neccessary evil sometimes!

Suzanne

Hey there Suzanne. Oh I know they are a necessary evil but do they have to be quite so evil to the rest of my body?? ROFL!!!

I would love to see the album when you are finished with it. I just think it's so neat that you are having your home built. I would love some day to do that.

Karen, I got so spoiled building the townhouse. It makes more sense here, because it's cheaper to build new. The house I'm renting would sell for 25k more than what we bought and it's on a smaller lot and 400sf smaller, with a smaller garage.

Suzanne

Wow thats amazing that it is cheaper to build. I just think that is so kewl because then you can have the house the way YOU want it....within their specs but still. I am totally amazed at what our house is worth on the open market here compared to what we paid....are paying on it when we bought in 1986. We could get quadruple what we bought it for if we sold it. It's something we are thinking about in the future. We would like to move farther up north and out of this hectic rat race lifestyle down here.

If you were thinking Tampa, right now there's a bunch of tech sector jobs!

Suzanne

Dh works for Comcast so we would need to see where he could transfer to. I know Vero is one of the places because there was a job open there that dh almost took and thought he would commute to....silly man. I work in the medical field so I can get a job pretty much anywhere but Im sure for not near as much money as I am making now.

I LOVE blankies!!! I really don't think you can EVER have too many blankies....or pillows for that matter. You should see all the pillows on my bed...I have 7 that I sleep with and 2 that are decorative :earseek: Not even gonna tell you about mine or Barko's blankie situation......

Well, I do think Greg is already happy about my nagging.....he said thanks tonight. He said he is going to check with his brother tomorrow to see what his plans are. If his brother can't figure it out by then, he will just make his own plans. I think also that when I checked the same flights tonight that I had checked earlier and they were now like $80 more....there was a little more motivation. I still was able to find a R/T flight to Tampa for $106....just the times are not as good. But hey, he just needs to go and see his aunt.

Silly me decided to watch a very good, but a real tear jerker kind of movie tonight....Raising Helen. Great movie...I bawled like a baby. Could be the PMS has really kicked in, so maybe it wasn't that good and I am just a little ultra sensative....like that would EVER happen to me!!!

Suzanne, LOVE your topper collection!! What a great way to display them!!! Too cute....and what a great way to keep your car seasonal!!! Time to move on the Valentine's Day though....Love the topper this year for V-Day!

Karen, sorry you are feeling bad again. Hope you are feeling better soon.

Nancy, thanks for the list.....some of us can use that more than others....

Stacy, glad you enjoyed din din. We have a japenese place here, but Greg is not real big on it. But our neighbor next door loves the place....and whenever Greg is out of town, he always takes me there. Too bad he found himself a girlfriend. I certainly hope I have his spunk when I get to be 78....and his girlfriend is adorable...she is at least 15 years younger than him and look very Barbara Mandrellish!! They really are quite cute together....and it must be serious now...he lives with her in the winter and she lives with him in the summer.........to be in love!!!!

Elaine, forgot to mention earlier, that suit is too cute!!! Love the color as well. Glad you found something you liked. It always helps to have another opinion....especially when swimsuit shopping.

Well, I think I need to head to bed and call it a night. See you all sometime tomorrow....of to la la land for me!!!

Hey there Liz. You are the second person to mention that movie in the last couple of days. I guess Im gonna have to rent it and watch it. Both of you said it was a tearjerker. Im glad hubby is thankful you pushed him. Sometimes they need it for their own good and are pretty thankful to us when we do make them do the things they want to put off or just not do. My dh has done similar things.

This is but a momentary setback. Im sure once the diuretics kick in I will be feeling fine again. I was kind of stupid and stopped taking them because I thought since I was lowering so quickly on the Pred that I didn't need it. Guess I was wrong.

Liz,

The valentine's toppers are in, I just haven't taken a pic yet--will in the morning.

If ya wanna look at the album of the house and assorted stuff (I goofed and put them all in the same album), here's the link:

The house pictures start with image 68.

Good morning everyone!

Looks like I missed the Karen and Suzanne show last night. God things we have reruns here ;)

JellyrollsKaren

Morning Ya Yas. Happy Sunday. :)

I lost a pound! I know that's a sad thing to be happy about, but I'm happy anyway. :) Not much going on here today again. Working with marginally better people (and Scott is here, so that's much better, heh), so hopefully the headphones will be less necessary. Scott picked up our 14 rolls of film yesterday - one was b&w so it won't be done until next week. The rolls covered getting our Mini (Nov 2003), Niagara-on-the-Lake (Nov 03) Boulder Co (Dec 03), WDW (Jan 04), WDW (June 04), just around here (Aug 04), our apartment getting flooded (Aug 04) and New England (Sept 04). I don't know what's on the b&w roll. I guess that's a surprise for another week.

Elaine, so let me get this straight .. did you make a sundae by adding your own brownie mix? That sounds so good! That a very cute bathing suit. Where did you end up finding it?

Kristy, hope you found something to stave off the boredom. Your husband sounds like a realy sweetie! :)

Karen, I think 143 for a week for your whole family is very good. $7 for Pepsi is a lot (even for 2). I'd switch too. We're definitely not alone with the 'tuck in-lift arms-tuck in again' thing. I've talked to other people about it. ;) Sorry you were having a rough night. Hope today is much better for you.

Sherry, sorry to hear your brother hurt his ankle. Hope he's feeling better fast.

Liz, I'm glad your vent made you feel better. Sorry to hear about Aunt Helen. I think some comfy jammies or a track suit like people have suggested are good ideas. If you had the time/energy/interest, I bet she'd appreciate pictures of you guys too.

Nancy, hope Christin got home in the bad weather without any trouble.

JRKaren, I'm glad the mass went well. I was thinkin' about ya. Chicken parm sounds yummy.

Kimmie, I have a feeling my sore wrists are from my new addiction to World of Warcraft (computer game). Being the terrbile patient (and game addict) I am, the pain probably won't stop me from playing at all. ;)

Hi Betty! Nice to meet you!

Hi TC! Sounds like a fun meet.

Stacy, hibatchi sounds so yummy. I haven't eaten at a Japanese place in so long. It's makin' me hungry now. Incidentally, I have a Ya Ya 'list' in a text file on my desktop at home and at work. It took a couple weeks to get everyone straight (and the Kama/Kimmie/Kimmar thing still messes with my mind - heehee)

Suzanne, I do love the ketchup. ;) I'm also jealous of you going to get your books signed by Alton Brown! That's so cool. I was looking around on the Food Network page last week and saw that they had Good Eats on dvd. It will be mine, oh yes, it will be mine. :teeth: Love the topper pic. How do you like your Beetle?

Ok, time for working. Talk to you guys later. Have a great Sunday!

Moring all! No time for a real ketchup. I have to get to church earlier than usual and we had about an inch or so of snow so it's doubtful, but we'll take a hair more time with it just in case :)

I'll do a check in after lunch :wave2:

Morning Everyone,

Do I HAVE to go to church today?? I wanna go to sleep. I was up almost all night. It wasnt exactly in vain. I lost five pounds overnight. I can breathe easier this morning too so that's another good thing. Gonna take another diuretic this morning and see if I can get more fluid off this poor old body. Unfortunately I have to go to Kids Church today because I already know that one of the other leaders will not be there because her son is not feeling well. I talked to her yesterday at BBall.

I know we are also gonna get talked to about not going to regular church. There are two reason we are not going. One is right now I cant risk the physical contact with the handshaking thingy they do. The other reason is neither dh nor I like the interim pastor. We get nothing from his sermons because they are all turn her turn there in the bible. I and dh want to hear the word of God put into context with some sort of meaning in our lives. We can stay home and read the bible. The other thing is we feel he is sexist. He has this thing about calling all the males of the church up to pray and leaving the females to sit in the pews. Dh hates it and refuses to go up. I so wish we would get a new seniior pastor similar to the old one we had. I got so much from him. His sermons meant something to me and I always got something out of it. We have been without a pastor now for over a year.

Suzanne I looked at your album. Very neat. I loved seeing the house go up from ground zero to where it is now.

Caroline I hope work goes better for you today and that your wrist stops hurting. I know mine will do that too if I do too much on the computer. It might well be from playing that computer game so much. Your wrists arent used to being in that position all that long.

Well I guess I should get another cuppa coffee in me before we go or I will be asleep on my feet LOL. See ya when we get back from church! HUGS!!!

Anyone else??

Christin did make it home alright, of course, I didn't sleep much until then.
We warmed up a little.....35º....so I get my play date :hyper:

EOIP....gotta run. See ya tonight.
Have a good day everyone.

Good Morning YaYas! Hope everyone is having a happy and relaxing Sunday.

Betty! It's always so good to see you here!!

Kristy, feeling any better today?

Ugh.... trying to type with a dog on my lap. Have to type around her nose that is resting on the keyboard. :p

Hey Nancy! Glad to hear you get your play day!!

Caroline lost a pound! Wahoo! Hee... your list of pics! :p

Awwww... Liz's 78 year old neighbor in love! Makes me smile!

Hey Karen! Good to hear that the diuretics are doing their job. My mom went through that after her surgery. :( She was so miserable.

Gotta go peek at Suzanne's pics in a bit!

Better get downstairs. The inlaws are here for the weekend and probably need the back door unlocked so they can get in. :)
