Hey, I may have missed it, but why is your DD in Hawaii? The reason I'm asking is because the daughter of a friend of mine went to Hawaii also!! She is a junior in L.H.S. and was selected to represent this part of N.J. for a tennis tournament(?) I believe....

lizzie, yes my name is Betty but the Ya Yas call me Sketti.....another Ya Ya history lesson. One evening when I was making dinner for the family I was draining the sketti and in the colander and it wasn't balanced nicely and it tipped and the sketti went down the drain.....all of it.....hot sketti and my DH is yelling "Catch it, Catch it,,,,that's our dinner" Thus I became knows as Betty Spaghetti. Then McDonalds had the happy meals with Betty Spaghetti dolls (lets you know how out of touch I am, I didn't even know that they made those dolls) Then I became known as Sketti. That is why in lilboo (Jeannie) siggie it says "Come play in my sandbox, Sketti. Jeannie is a sweetie and takes very good care of the Elder Ya Yas and their Cabana boy, although I call my a man. End of history of Ya Ya 101.

Beth, yes it is the old Coney that you and I went to as little girls. They have the greatest dances. It is like going to a high school dance with a real band but this time around you actually have a date to dance with.

Oh my you all just missed the mother of all typos.....I typed Betty Shaghetti dolls instead of Betty Spaghetti....wait,,,,I can shag....Yes there should be a Betty Shaghetti doll.

Kimmar - Wow that is great about your daughter. She must be wonderful.

My mother in law has decided she wanted to take each of her grandchildren on a special trip. My daughter loves Hawaii and has always wanted to go. That and my sister in law lives there, so it's kind of a nice trip she can see her aunt and meet her 2 new cousins.

...my daughter, but a friend of mine's daughter. She is on the Varsity Tennis team and was picked, along with 49 other high school students, to attend this "conference" and "tournament" being held until July 2 in Hawaii. She left on Sunday out of Newark/Liberty, and my friend is a lttle nervous, cuz' she's never been anywhere without her parents..... But, it was QUITE an honor to be picked; she certainly deserves it!!

lizzie and Kimmer there have been many a story told here on the Ya Ya thread. I can't wait to hear some of yours. Actually, this is how we all get to be so close...we know too much about each other. I love it!

DS 3yo has a mind of his own today. I'm trying to get him ready to go out to lunch (woohoo Chic Filet) so he can play and get some of his energy out but he not cooperating. i told him that if he didn't cooperate we wouldn't go out to lunch. So he says "okay". Ugh, now what do I do? I have to actually cook him some lunch!!

Now as I type he has the loudest toy he can find and it is making it make noise. I think he is trying to drive me to the funny farm.

Does the yaya house have a padded room to go to when you need to escape the munchkins?

BTW Lizzie, Betty, Betty Shagetti- my mom's bd is on July 8th also. So happy birthday early!! EEk that means I need to go find a present here soon.

...I guess it helps when you are able to put a face with a name (a la` the DIS Cons you guys attend). Sometimes I find it hard to keep up with whose name goes with whose User Name, cuz', mostly, I'm just staring at a computer screen. Alot of you ya-yas have already met [several times] so you already "know" each other. Mebbe one of these days.....(sigh)

Deena - I'll be turning 39 (oh my gosh in 11 days) So you are 6 months younger than me. Darn it. I always used to be the youngest.

And I know about 15 year old boys, you see DD is a twin with DS15. I also have ds4 and ds2, So Tara, I know what you're going through too.

Tara - thanks for the birthday wishes. And Happy Birthday to your mom.

Kimmar - I agree with you. Maybe one day we'll have one big Ya Ya Yowza at Disney.
