Oh my friends, it's been a very baaaaaaaaaad afternoon. It started out innocent. Sure I'll go to lunch with my sister. We go to Fuddruckers. What's wrong with 1/2lb burger and fries and coke. Well it's the brownie sundae with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream after. Yes I'm sitting here decomposing from all that food! Should I mention I ate the whole burger, fries and well my fair share of the sundae.
I would call it a YUMMIE DELICIOUS afternoon... Fuddruckers is the only place I won't share my French Fries with DW. Also, Nephosaurus calls it the AYCE Salad bar there... but SSSHHHH, don't tell them on the Resort Boards.....

I haven't posted to the chocolate vault before. But I am one of the biggest chocoholics. Imagine my surprise when my work moved to a new location and I found a chocolate store I had never heard of before. It is called neuhaus. I am planning to venture there next week but wanted to know if anyone here was familiar with this place and if so, what they recommended. I have checked out the website, and found instructions on how to properly taste chocolate. Anyplace that dedicated to chocolate must be good. So I am looking forward to this indulgence.

Let me know if you have eaten their chocolate before and if so, what you recommend.

Thanks

Welcome to the Vault!
I used to live in Alexandria (96-98). Where is Neuhaus? It sounds like it belongs in Pentagon City or Crystal City or even Reston? I might have to check it out on my next extended trip to the in-laws in MD.

My darlings how does one get the report bad post on their little siggy thing. The reason why I ask is not that I have anything to report I just don't want to be left out. I want one, I want one.

slo, is she old enough to understand that her actions have consequences? just explain that to her and make sure you hold the line on the bounderies...JMHO

:jumping2:

I do believe that she is old enough to understand that her actions have consequences - they were very good about teaching them that at daycare and my DH and I have been very clear on this also with her. Currently...I have taken away tv till Monday, she is grounded to her room or playroom till Monday, and she can't stay up late tonight or tomorrow night, which is something I always let her do on Friday and Saturday. I have also taken away all Lizzie McQuire and Raven DVD's until I feel she is older. I am thinking that these shows are fueling her desire to want to be older. I think the shows are great - but I think she's having a hard time differentiating (spelled wrong I'm sure) between being 6yrs old and being 14/15 years old. Her last daycare teacher is majoring in early childhood development and she felt that what I am doing is a good thing - I hope she's right, because I'm about ready to pull my hair out.

Thank you for giving me your opinion!! :)

Hey slo lots of hugs to you and DD. What helps me is that I keep a log of my sons issues. Sometimes it may help point stuff out like for example he's affected by the seasons changing full moons, etc. How old is DD could it be hormones? Maybe really sitting down and have a no holds barr talk. Sorry I don't mean to give advice just what has worked for my family. Vent all you want here, that's what friends are for well that and the chocolate.

Thanks for the hugs and please never apologize for giving me advice. I come to you all for suggestions and I am grateful that you give it to me. I like your advice about keeping a log of DD's issues - it will help out alot, I would have never thought of this on my own. Thanks again!!

pfishgirl - it was good to hear from you, I hope you had fun today at your Memories Expo and hopefully you didn't spend to much money ;)

phowell13 - welcome to our club  , please enjoy the chocolate and the scenery. We have a wonderful landscaper (Danauk) here on the island to keep things beautiful and we have a lovely M&M pool that is always open for you to come take a dip. Please come often!!

s&k'smom - your lunch today sounds wonderful, I would have loved to have had it yesterday when Stephanie was driving me up the wall. I love to eat when I'm stressed out. We used to have a Fuddruckers close to our house, but then it left and the building became a Kinkos. :confused3

Alright...that's enough posting for today. I broke my only pair of glasses this morning and I had to wear my prescription sunglasses at work today :smooth: . I don't have the sunglasses on now and the computer is actually putting stress on my eyes. I'm going to the eye doctor tomorrow morning to take the glasses in and they will have a new pair for me by next Friday. I did have a pair of back-up glasses, but BabyKate destroyed them :guilty: . So..tomorrow I'm getting 2 pairs of glasses ordered so this doesn't happen again.

Have a good night everyone - I think I'm going to go to bed now, it's been a long week!!

slo

Well, the final dress rehearsal is done! I stayed after and helped build the set (we started at 7!). The only reason I came home was because I'm so tired and I hadn't eaten dinner yet. I bet people are still up there now.

Since tomorrow might be really hectic (probably not, I have to be at the auditorium at 5, but then I won't be on afterwards!), I hope everyone has a GREAT weekend!

Sorry, I missed your post earlier...

I used to work near a Neuhaus. They actually had Wonka bars there.....

But, I loved their hand dipped Strawberries...
They also had great ice Cream.
The Fudge is fresh, and so are all of the truffles.

I also liked when they ran a sale on the Belgian imported chocolates... I could buy a box cheap, and as log as it didn't sit around for too long (they didn't usually last more than a couple of hours anyway) is was yummie delicious.

Why am I hungry all of the sudden???

As I see it you cannot report your own posts.

I actually wanted to report my own post on a thread that had gotten too out of hand, I didn't want to single anybody out... But, you can't report yourself....

:jumping2:

PS, SLO, DW says that lots of TV can turn minds to mush, and that is why one of her DN's is so violent. I donno, but I am assuming that as Ian gets older we will be watching significantly less TV around here (No More Soap-Opera Schooling for the Dragons...lol)

Thanks to you guys, and all the yummy posts about chocolate, I've eaten two Hershey bars in one sitting. Not good my friends, not good at all. :hyper:

DHS, are you in a play, musical, or church presentation, and which one (where do we get tickets... lol)

Deriously, good luck and "Break A Leg"

Just the good ol' regular Hersheys. I keep them in the freezer. My dh says its for emergencies. He always hands them to me when I'm in a foul mood!

Oh, and thank you for looking at my son's website. :goodvibes

Thanks ohana for the reporting knowledge.

Yes chocolate is a medicine here, we prize it above antibiotics. Hershey bars, excellent. I like the ones with almonds and of course Hershey is the only thing to use with smores.

Slo darling keep the log and I'll tell yeah and this is to the extreme but my son has major anxiety. And it's funny war in the middle East wouldn't bother him but the safety plug off the hairdryer was missing and it sent him over the edge. I'm not saying DD has any of those issues but it may put your mind to rest. I bet she's just going through some growing pains and yeah I think tv has a lot to do with it. Some of the things they put out for kids, TG my DD loves playhouse Disney still. Well think I'll get off my pulpit. Another morning of healthy eating then off to a Christening party were I'm sure eat my weight in goodies.

Hi All !!
The Memories Expo was GREAT (even without chocolate) :goodvibes

We made so many things and received a TON of free magazines and products along with project idea flyers... We were so exhausted we were in bed asleep by 10 pm..

We left around 7 30 am.. I was told to expect an hour and half drive time.. We got there at 8 30... :cool1: Doors opened at 9 am. We left at 4pm and was home by 5 30 pm due to traffic... Looked over all our stuff again and showed (unimpressed) DH everything.. Haha...

I only spent $5.00, I was VERY good.. Most of the stuff I would of bought, we got free from Vendors..

Sooooooo It was an AWESOME Day !!!!

Hope all is well with everyone...take care..
