Jackie Congrats on both accomplishments. I cant wait until I am able to look at the scale and be happy about what I see. I also cant even fathom miles that fast! I am just getting into running (jogging) from being a walker for 5 years. I top out at about 5 ½ or 6, though 6 is pushing it, and that is on the treadmill. I have a LONG way to go.
Beth Glad to hear the kids are back in school, sorry about DH. Sometimes having a sick husband is worse than a sick kid
.
Maria Good luck with DH surgery and your running around.
AFM - I was true to my word and got back out there yesterday. Well, actually I got on the TM, but it counts. I did the first day of the first week of C25K. It wasn't too hard since I had already been trying to ease myself into running (jogging). I use the TM to take advantage of the springs and let me knees get used to it before I try pounding them on the pavement. It was a compromise with DH who doesn't think I should be trying to run at all. We will see how it goes. But it was nice to get some time in. I was going to do the perscribed 25 minutes and then add on an extra half hour of just walking, but I was wearing the wrong socks and I could feel some rubbing and didn't want to put my feet out of commission, so i stopped after about 35 minutes. Oh well. I am disappointedly only down about half a pound since last week. I feel like I have been doing really good with my eating, so it is frustrating. But hopefully now that I can get back to exercise things will speed up.

that you and DS#1 can avoid the flu.
They say if you want to run faster, you have to run faster, and apparently it's really true. He slows down to run with me, but I still have to speed up to keep up with him, and it's really paying off. I never ever thought I could run a sub-10:00 mile, but I saw that number Monday night for the first time!

But I think I just made it... It makes me wonder how some ladies are able to wear skinny jeans tucked into those boots. I wish I could do that but I have enough trouble finding boots that fit my big calves anyway.
I'm going to have to watch what I eat very carefully - she loves anything fried so there won't be too many healthy items to chose from. Plus there's apple pie for dessert
I managed to talk them into sugar free ice cream though. Phew!
