Manda - Start slowly. Walk and add in jogging/running for just a few seconds at the time (maybe 30 seconds for every 5 minutes). As your knees adjust, you can alter the ratio to more running. As for the migraine, I have such a chronic problem with them that if I didn't go on with my plans I'd never get anything done!
Vicky - Congratulations on your half! What a great time! Good job getting the gel in.
Beth - I've read recently that the budget experts strongly recommend only one trip to the grocery store instead of daily trips for that exact reason. It's way too easy to spend $50 every time you go in. Much less expensive to make a weekly budget and get it all in one trip. I try to alternate between Sam's and the regular grocery store - that way I can buy milk and OJ at Sam's where it's cheaper and supplement at the grocery. Fortunately, with just DH and me now, we don't need much of either!
Cindy - Joining you in coming down with something. I think mine is just allergies, but I felt really bad on Monday and actually left work early to come home and go to bed. Slept for about 4 hours, but I've been really stuffy ever since. Hope yours doesn't develop into anything serious!
DH and I ran Sunday night, and had planned to run Monday, but I obviously slept through our run. Still felt really run down on Tuesday, but was determined tonight to run regardless. Managed 4+ miles, but I could tell I'm not anywhere close to 100%. Had a really hard time breathing the last mile, but I'm still glad I got out there and was active. I've been mostly good with my eating habits - we did break down and go to our favorite fast food burger joint after the run tonight - have NEVER EVER had a bad experience there, but tonight's burgers and fries were HORRIBLE. I think there may have been a message in there somewhere...

I keep telling myself that it's value season so it's not really that bad.
But I also don't want to have to deal with DF complaining about the race bus etc.
for your cold! Good luck on your marathon!

Debra was so right about this book. So, I started Winds of Dune. I've read the whole series, so it's nice to have a book that covers a period of time that previously was not detailed.
I am so psyched. I always said if I could do that, I could make it the rest of the way -- so here I go!

My kids don't know yet, they will be upset. They have been looking forward to that trip. I hate to disappoint them, but just can't see spending thousands on a long weekend trip.
That and the technical learning curve is killing me. Anyway, I'm not going to make any money on the gig but I can write on the topics I want and build my portfolio. So you can guess what I'll be writing about....hmmm, movies, books, and Disney.
(Oh, and I believe the 50 pounds. I gained the same in two years when I moved to Fargo. Of course, I was depressed and figure you were probably just nesting and enjoying relationship bliss--which unfortunately leads to weight gain with me, too.) Tracking makes a huge difference for me, as does regularly getting on the scale (daily, if I can). And a lot of us experience knee problems, so feel free to ask any questions.
I hope she's doing better. I also hope your trail marathon went well--after DOOD's ultra, I'm a little leery of such things... I love the story about your co-worker who has faith in you. That's the way every workplace should be--she sounds like a gem.
You did exceptional given the humidity--on race day I thought of you (after looking at weather.com) and said, "Ugh." How's the hamstring? Is your PT looking out for you post-race?
I wish I could make that happen for my hips...On the bright side, I believe I've found my waist! Can my collarbones be far behind?!
I hope we have nice weather for the double header tomorrow. I will try to get my run in early, since we will have 5 hours of baseball!
It would have been nice to see you again. John and I decided (well actually

But look at you, how quickly you got back on track. I love egg whites, as they're so filling.
