Weight loss for Wishers and becoming Leaner Meaners!

13.5 miles for me, 1:57:47.

We had to alter our start location due to the Straub Women's 10K race running part of the Honolulu Marathon Course, which we normally run. Saw the women going up the back of Diamond Head Crater Road for a short bit.

:stitch: 'Ohana's Monday Mixer :stitch:

We had so much fun with last week’s Monday Mixer, ‘Ohana is doing it again tomorrow! Come early, stay late, visit on any day of the week. No need to stick to the topic, either. We’re just happy to hear from our cousins and swap a tale or two over some tasty beverages. :drinking1

Tomorrow, we’re curious to find out how you pass the time on long walks/wogs/runs if you don’t listen to music and are training solo. (Or what you do in addition to/as an alternative to listening to music.) What makes the long miles less daunting and maybe even enjoyable? What do you watch for, think about, concentrate on? From the serious to silly to the surreal, we want to hear your stories.

Me, I’m pretty sure I hallucinate, but the rest of you probably have better strategies...

Hope to see you on the ‘Ohana thread. The mixer posts for this week start here.

Hi everyone! Back to work tomorrow ... boo! Weekends should be three days long :) Managed to get my PT for an hour on Thursday so I'll have two hour long training sessions this week! Yay!

Jeff - Very cool pictures!! It looks like a lot of fun - I would have been crawling through the mud too! I've had friends who got mud baths or mud treatments at the spa and they told me it was smelly too. Go figure!

Debra - I stopped by a New Balance company store on the way back from work and they fitted me in a 769. The girl said she thought I was more balanced. I did mention I get knee pain occasionally and she said if a shoe has more stability than a runner needs, it can do that. Go figure! I didn't know. So I'm still deciding between the two.
Remember to do your pills and pilates today! ;)

Have a great night everyone!

Hey Lean Mean Brigade!

I meant to be at work today, but Mother Nature had other ideas. We have about 8" on the ground, and another 4-7 is steadily falling as I write. On the bright side, I still got up and did my 4 mi. I didn't want to let the day go by and then regret not getting my workout in. DS is watching cartoons with Poptarts, but I've got to get him dressed and working on a report soon.

Vicky -- I agree about weekends! I'm glad I have an unexpected 3-day one. I'm going to do some decluttering and get ready for next week's Sunday School. Last week I had one student -- our nasty weather started yesterday morning. Anyway, I need another day to catch up for the things I just don't get done! ::yes:: Ok, my dh really, really does not like WDW. He finds virtually everything about it annoying, but he likes the Half Marathon. The reason I even brought up the idea of doing in a few years ago was that it was the only way I thought I'd ever get another trip to the World. I had no idea running was going to turn into our hobby.

Debra -- I'll be over in a bit, I wouldn't want to miss my own Mixer! :sad2: I did the Self challenge a few years ago, and wound up with my name in teeny tiny print. I was so proud. :lmao: It kicks your butt way more than you'd ever think.

Jeff -- Truly incredible photos, and a fantastic time had by all, I can tell! :thumbsup2

Mike -- Yep, the BL thing was very wrong, like you said, we probably can't understand the pressure they put on him. It's also probably true that he didn't "get" why people would be so upset. He's not a runner, this was probably his first race, so he wouldn't understand why those of us who have slogged out the whole thing at once would be offended he'd say he did it. :)

Beth -- Sometimes you do just need a little piece of cake  . With all the training you've been putting in, I think an occasional something sweet is not horrid. :thumbsup2

Chris -- I get why the BL thing is making you crazy :crazy2: . It just doesn't seem right, I'm glad he did admit what actually happened and apologized. I agree with Beth, going back and finishing 3 miles later is not the same thing. It's obvious his wife doesn't get it, either, or she wouldn't have said they were driven only 3 miles. :rolleyes1 One more BL thought -- Last season I didn't like Heba & Co. because they were too mean, now I'm thinking the Blue team isn't playing the game enough. I guess it's hard to find a happy medium.

Julie -- Are the kidlets enjoying the blizzard? My ds won't go out while it's snowing, but once it stops he'll be out and about. :yay:

Wendy -- Of course I remember you, you are unforgettable! :goodvibes

Cindy -- I probably didn't think as much as I should have about Lent, but I'm glad I came up with what I did. I already just feel lighter, even if it's all in my mind. And I have also added in a daily Bible study, which I'm finding very enriching. I tend to think of myself as not a very religious person, but I guess when I look a little closer, I'm doing more than I think. :ssst:

Vic, Stacie, Tracey, Jeanne, AmyK and other Lean Mean Folk -- :wave2: Hope things are chugging along for you!

Maria :upsidedow

Happy Snowy Monday, Meaners!

Debra: Thanks for the invite to the mixer.....I will drop by later! :cool1:

Maria: Yeah, the snow kinda took me by surprize! I got up early to run the TM, the boys had a delay and there wasn't much snow. I knew I would have to go to work late, so I jumped back into bed for awhile. When I got back up, the snow was piling up! :sad2: So, needless to say, the boys school got canceled. It threw a wrench into my and dh day! So, we were lucky dh's daughter was down for the weekend and her school closed too, but only after 8:00 am. So she is staying with the boys, I got 3 miles in on the TM, and got to work 1 hour late. All in all, wasn't near as bad as it could have been. I was lucky, dh took me to work in the 4 wheel drive......now only if he can pick me up too! :scared1: (I will not be stuck at work, I will run home if I have too!)

Jeff: Your Muddy, Buddy race look fantastic! One good reason to get all muddy and have a good time! Sorry your team was a little whiney though (I hate that! That is of course, if I am not the one whineing!)

Nancy update: Nancy got to go home yesterday, and seemed in good spirits and glad to be home. I will try to make her some homemade soup this week for a little pick-me-up! She is doing a fantastic job, and I am very proud of her! It's not easy for her to take care of herself......she is one to be on the go all the time, taking care of everybody else. She has been very patient and getting better the smart way.

Have a good day!

Beth

Beth: That's good news about Nancy. I just sent her a card this a.m. (I know I enjoyed getting cards after the first rush, so delayed a bit.) I'm so proud of her for being a model patient--tell her I said so. That's one of the hardest things to do, I believe.

And of course I'm so proud of you, too. Making Norm and DS healthier versions of comfort food was such a good touch! On top of everything you do, too! I'm super glad you're carefully considering your eating choices and not beating yourself up over small indulgences, but instead putting them into your food and exercise plan. This last week has been very stressful for you, too. I know you know this professionally, but it's really hard to not have any control when your loved ones go through surgery is hard. And you've got all the work responsibilities on top it it. I think you're managing beautifully! Plus, you had the resistance to say no to the 'Ohana virtual cupcakes. :lmao: (I have to walk past that bakery at least 4X a week. Sigh. I hate them and their tasty buttercream.)

Mike: So how did your double-duathlon (mini plus IM training go)? Your recovery time from the surgery is fantastic! No pain, I hope?

Aloha Jeff: Okay, what does it say about me that I looked at the costumed runners and thought "In the Navy, you can sail the seven seas...." and then, "I'm gonna wash that man right out of my hair...." Your teams looked eager, at least at the beginning. I'm glad you had a good, if not clean, time at the race (and scored a strong time for the finish, no?). It sounds really challenging--don't know if I could complete it. And, for the record, I'm not buying the mud-spa justification for one second. Living out your boot-camp dreams, sure? Being all you can be? All right! Mud spa? Nope, nope, nope. If there are no plush robes and fruity tropical drinks, you can't convince me it's the equivalent. :rotfl2:

Vicky: I'm so glad you got fitted by someone who gave you that information. I'd read that about stability shoes. Wasn't it Mike who was fit into the wrong pair of shoes (relatively) recently, and ended up with a significant amount of pain? So you need to decide which way to go. Maybe another fitting at another store? Yay for your 3-day weekend!

Maria: "But Mom, today is a snow day. I don't wanna work on my report." I'm sure your DS doesn't really sound like that--just channeling my inner tween. Yeah for getting your miles in! Awww, you and DH have an "our hobby." And it occasionally gets you to Disney. What can be better than that--unless, of course, we find a way to get him to love WDW. Oh, and congrats on doing the Self Challenge and seeing your name in print; I didn't realize there was public accolades that went along with the booty-busting. Oh, yeah! One last compliment--on your continued treatlessness. Glad you're feeling lighter! DOOD knew someone, way back in his undergrad days, who gave up elevators for Lent. A small thing, but he was reminded of it every day (lived in dorms), and it obviously was something that struck DOOD.

Lean Meaners: I hope all of you are having good, active days, even if you've been hit by all the storms. We're lucky that we have sharp gusts of wind, but no snow. Stay safe and stay warm.

As for me: Today was a nice long WO, with Pilates tonight--thank you Vicky--followed by a Netflix DVD. We'd go out, but it's a mite bit chilly here. And I sneaked a peak at the scale today. Shhhh, don't tell Vicky's PT. :ssst: It looks like I'll post a 2 pound loss this Friday when I check in with 'Ohana. Finally! I guess that Sparkpeople site is useful, and as much as I dislike (okay, hate) tracking it works for me. That's exactly the motivation I need to keep doing it. Speaking of motivation, now I need to get motivation to make a menu and go grocery shopping. I envy all you good cooks and your ability to make recipes your own. :thumbsup2 Me, half the reason I think I became a vegetarian is because I don't like to cook and the idea of a lifetime salad buffet with dinner rolls made me excited. (Until I realized I still needed to eat protein and watch the carbs, anyway. :lmao: )

Sorry, I've been MIA. This weekend was crazy busy and then Monday followed suit with 2 conferences, a sports meeting at the high school, and fitness class, along with 6, yes 6, loads of laundry and 3 icky bathrooms.:scared:
Deb...I think that I can be counted in as a hallucinate-er when I run. I often get back and can't remember much. Hopefully, that just means that my mind is clear when I run:confused3 . Although, I do think alot of random thoughts about people and say little prayers while I run. I'm seeing results from Sparkpeople, too. Keeping track of my foods seems to be key for me.
Chris...I admit to being upset by the Biggest Loser stuff, mostly because I have a great deal of respect for people who are honest. I understand trying to motivate people, but I believe most people would have respected them saying, "We didn't quite make the time limit for the marathon, but we kept going and finished in 6:30...we're hoping to better our time on the next one." Thanks for posting the info. My DS just told me that more info came out yesterday on the Runners World site, I'm gonna check it out today.
Vicky...I have Jillian's 30 day shred....while I'm not becoming "shredded", my arms are definitely more defined and I've upped from 3lb weights to 6.6 lbs. How are the new shoes working?
Julie...How are you? Do your kiddos have another snow day?
Beth...Glad to hear Nancy's doing well. You are so sweet to take her food. When my DH was sick, it was such a blessing to have friends bring food.
Jeff...that little mongoose is so cute and your pics of the swamp romp are spectacular. It looks like fun, except, I'm not really fond of getting dirty, so I wouldn't be a good team member. I had to laugh at the guys dressed up.:lmao:
Mike...did you do the mini duathlon yet, or is it in the future.
Maria...Glad to hear you're feeling lighter....giving up all of that stuff cannot be easy and I'm proud of you for sticking with it.
Everybody else...
I got out on Sunday for a hard for me 8.3 mile run. I didn't feel like it, but talked myself into going with the treat of doing 4/1 run/walk intervals. Sometimes I didn't need the walk, but sometimes I was counting down the seconds. I chose to go on a really hilly run and paid for it slightly on Monday, by hobbling around a bit.
Girls on the Run begins again this week and I'm really looking forward to it. I love the fact that it builds self esteem in these girls and also works on character development to hopefully, curtail some of the cattiness that young girls can be sucked into. I always talk to them about you guys and how important it is to have others support you in your efforts. So thanks for being good role models!
Does anyone else read Kristin Armstrong's blog? She's a writer for Runner's World and her blog is on the website. I'm always inspired by her articles and her blog touches me in the same way. If you feel in need of a pick me up, check out her blog...sorry for the infomercial...now back to regular programming.
It's that time of year where the kids activities really start picking up...busy, busy, busy! I have to remain consistent as it becomes easy to push off workouts and squeeze in laundry and housecleaning. So, if anyone has motivational quotes, suggestions, etc., post away because I could really use some.:)

Hi everyone! It's a chilly morning here - I think it's about 6F but probably even colder with the wind chill. I got dropped off downtown and had to walk about 1.5 minutes to my office building because there were a couple of road closures. It was so cold I ran most of the way :)

Worked out last night and did a couple of exercises with a medicine ball. It was fun! One thing I had to remember was to step back a little when catching the ball. It wasn't really heavy but it comes back with a little more force than a normal ball.

Julie - I forgot to bring my shoes to the gym with me. I like their TM better than mine so I'll test out the shoes on Thursday. I'll have to check out the Shred DVD the next time I'm at the store. My arms could definitely use more toning!

Debra - WTG on the weight loss!! I haven't been on the scale yet. Now I'm a little paranoid that I'm going to see a crazy number when I get on. I just can't win  I plan out a menu for the following week on Wednesday. I do the grocery shopping on Friday after work because I can't stand the crowds on Saturday. I leave it to DF to cook because I'm a microwaver :) Remember your pills and pilates!

Maria - How was your snow day? We just had the cold weather without the snow. You know, I used the half marathon to get in another trip at WDW too

Beth - Thanks for the update! I'm glad to hear Nancy is doing better!

Have a great day everyone!

Hey Lean Meaners!

I made it back safely from NC on thursday, but I did fall off the no booze wagon. Too many NC wines and beer that I couldn't pass up. I did okay with eating though. I took a few days off and got in a few days of core and some easy TM runs and was relieved that it was shin pain free!

I had my weekend of races this weekend. Stroller 5K Saturday and 1/2 marathon on Sunday. Here is little race report.

The race went well. really well. Hydration/fuel were perfect this time round. I was totally on pace for about 12 minute miles through about mile 7. NO shin pain. THEN, the skies opened up. OMG.:scared1: We were facing about 20+ MPH crosswinds and headwinds and wind driven rain. :scared1: :scared1: The wind was never at our backs, even when we switched directions, which happened a few times. It was in the mid 60's to start the race, which was fine, but the rain was COLD. So, I fell off my pace at this point. I was having to work like twice as hard to keep my pace where I wanted to be and was literally blown sideways a few times. So I walked more at this point. I ended up finishing in about 2:50 ish, 13.35 miles. (according to garmin), no PR, but WAY better than disney and just a few minutes off my november half.

I was so grateful for the mylar blanket at the finish. I truly was chilled to the bone. You all are free to laugh at me, but I really was cold. It was about 50 degrees with cold rain at the end. I did enjoy the food from my fave Cuban restaurant. free beer truck was closed. I only wanted hot coffee anyhow. I was worried about the full people finishing in 4+hours because alot of the food people were closing up shop due to the downpours.

2 Complaints:

1. They ran out of 1/2 marathon medals. If you finished the 1/2 in more than 2 hours you didn't get one. Well, you got a fake one and they will send you the real one in a week or two. Apparently what happened was they registered too many people and also once the weather turned craptastic alot of the full marathoners turned off at the half marathon turnaround to the finish. I think those people should have gotten the fake medals. The bibs were different for the 1/2 and full so it would have been easy to separate them, Anyhow, no real biggie for me, but slightly disappointing. I just wanted to get warm at this point.

2. I did have gatorade thrown in my face. Not on purpose of course, but OMG. it was abut mile 3.5 and we were starting to run into the wind a bit and this guy just tosses his half full gatorade cup over his shoulder without looking. The wind blew it right into my eyes. which stung. Again, no big deal but look before you throw and throw low!!! And he saw what he had done and kind of just shrugged his shoulders. Whatever.

Delena and I post 5K

Delena pre-race at home
159_5938.JPG

my 5K medal. It's smaller, but really heavy.
159_5955.JPG

We finished in about 44 minutes. I had high hopes for a sub 40 with the stroller, but it was so crowded. I think they should have given the walkers w/o strollers a 15 minute head start. Which would have left plenty of space for people who wanted to jog with strollers. I was cruising easily at a 10-11 minute/miles pace when I could find space to run. Anyhow, it was fun. I was going to let Delena walk/run/toddle the last half mile, but she fell asleep!

I am sore still, but think I will get back to some pilates today. I am doing shred DVD on level one most of time with 5 pound weights. I am not doing it more than twice a week, I should be. But I am still noticing some definition. I am planning no more really long races for awhile, so I hope to focus a bit more on this now. And hope to catch up on here!!

So, I had to pop in here and let you know that I have been getting myself up early am 3 x week to run the TM, and then do a class at night at the gym. I have to say that the twice a day workout plan seems to help. Even with my 'bad' week last week, I was down .2 (I know, .2 is lame.....) but still was a downward trend!!!!:cool1: I can only attribute that to the twice a day workouts last week! Gets a few miles in, and I get to do Pump and Pilates!!! All good aside though.....it's really HARD to get up in the morning!

Beth

Tracey: Whoa, you've had a whirlwind of action in your life. I think I'd look at the mountain of laundry and just go clothes shopping. :lmao: I'm so glad you're finding SparkPeople useful, too. I have a question for you--I tend to go a little high on the carbs, as recommended for runners. Sometimes over the range. :rolleyes1 And my fiber is consistently higher, as I would expect from my veggie diet. Both make me feel better, although I'm willing to admit it might be psychological. Do you adjust their recommendations for your very active lifestyle as well?

Congrats on your 8.3 miles, especially because you talked yourself into it AND took the hilly route. That's determination. I'm so glad you're doing Girls on the Run again this year. I know how much you value it--as do we all--and I love the stories. I cannot, just cannot, imagine being a young girl in this environment. It was rough enough when I was growing up. They cannot have enough role models and healthy-body images in their lives. In my own life, I'm definitely in need of such things too, so I'll check out Armstrong's blog. (I admit, I don't spend a lot of time at RW. Just read the mag.)

Vicky: WTG with the medicine ball WO. Now, THAT brings back bad junior-high memories. :rotfl: Is that something you do with/because of your PT? I admire that you can get your menu planning done midweek and shopping on Friday. We shop every day (pedestrian shopping, so I kind of have to do it every day because there's a limit to what I can carry). What it does is create an excuse for me not to plan. I'd happily plan, though, if DOOD cooked. Hah. Like you, I am by nature a microwaver. :worship: to its inventor.

Oh, and you're definitely have scale shock. In a good way. You've been really stepping it up!

Julie: Vicky's post reminded me. Toned arms are sooo sexy.

Amy: Great RR. That whole medal thing is frustrating and you came up with a simple, yet elegant answer to the marathoners choosing the 1/2. (I don't blame them at all, just agree they should get the temporary medals.) I never laugh at the need for a mylar blanket. 50 degrees and rain and wind can be bone-chilling cold! :scared1: Plus, at DOOD's first race, it was cold and rainy and windy (Fargo marathon) and he suffered a mild case of hypothermia. We didn't know enough about things then, and he refused a blanket at the finish. So yay for taking care of your body's needs.

Also yay for the no shin pain! That's great news. And I don't think I knew--probably forgot--you were doing the 5K with Delena. That's something to be very, very proud of. Beyond the time, of course. I'm thinking of the Girls on the Run connection. Delena is growing up with an awesome role model in you.

Finally, selfishly, yes, I'm glad you're going into maintenance for a while. Mostly because we can hear more from you.

Beth: That's fabulous! You still lost weight--and kept up with your WOs--on an incredibly stressful week. Double dipping works. I can only imagine how tough those early mornings are, but you've got the results in several areas to show for them. Oh, and didn't I see on your team thread you worked out EVERY day in February? Wowsa!

Chris, Maria, Vic, Julie, Wendy, Mike, Cindy, Jeff, and Stacie (I know you lurk) and other LMers I missed: Hope you're having a great day!

As for me: DOOD's on spring break, so he's using the opportunity to take extra-long WOs. Which means I am, too. It also means he wants to eat out and nosh more, which isn't quite as good news. So this week will be a bit of a mental challenge in the eating area, and I'm glad that I know I'm on track for a solid loss to reinforce my faltering willpower. Planning popcorn and a DVD tonight--delayed from the other day, when I went to bed early.

Today, we went to the gym to run because of the wind chill here. Bleh. I'm still doing SRs and for some reason I find them more intolerable than LRs on the TM? :confused3 I think it's because I find LRs to sap my will to dislike anything or to think in general. :rotfl2: Then it was Pilates and some strength training here at home--much more pleasant doing free weights here--before taking my pills! Yay for me! I think it's a 5 star day!

Must sign off for now. DOOD's either giving me the stink eye or his "come hither" look. Hard to tell.

Vicky...6 degrees! That is cold, especially to walk/run from your car. We are predicted to get to 54 today:cool1: .
Amy....you're back! Good for you for doing the stroller race. Did Delena enjoy it while she was awake? She is such a cutie:lovestruc ! What a bummer that they ran out of medals. I agree with you, that the marathoners who chose to run the 1/2 should have taken the fake medals. From the pic of you after the race, I would never have guessed that you just ran in a cold rain...the weather looks beautiful. And the 5k medal is really cool.....around here we usually just get a banana and a bagel:banana: :rotfl2: .
Beth...You amaze me with all you have going on and you get up early to work out.:worship: :worship: :worship: and.... .2 is not nothing....every little bit counts.
Deb...I am usually very high on carbs and my end of the day report tells me that. I also tend to eat the Earth Grains double fiber bread and that doesn't help my fiber numbers. Can we adjust those on SP? I'm still figuring it all out and just use it for the basics. And then yesterday, although I didn't "fall off" the wagon, I just didn't go back to SP to input my dinner choices, so my "streak" is starting over at Day 1. Oh, well:confused3 . I love the idea of pedestrian shopping and purchasing what you want to eat for the day. DOOD on Spring Break, huh
Must sign off for now. DOOD's either giving me the stink eye or his "come hither" look. Hard to tell.
:rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2: Have fun with that.
everybody else.....
I felt guilty last night for sitting on the couch watching the BL, so I went down and got in 4 miles on the TM. DH continued to lay on the couch:confused3 Baby steps, baby steps........
Have a great day all, the boys are starting to arrive in the kitchen:) .

to ever catch up.

Debra I need to take lessons from DOOD, my "come hither" look is normally met by a "get away from me" verbal response :rotfl:

Tracey Great work on the 4 miler on the TM...I feel like such a hampster, I'm either riding on a trainer or running on an elliptical...lots of calories expended to get NOWHERE!

Jeff You're in Hawaii. I'm jealous. Nuff said.

Amy Great RR!

Beth As previously noted is a MACHINE! :worship:

Everyone elseNothing personal, just stupid busy. Stay lean n mean!

Mike's Place I got in 2500 yards swimming today...a distance inconceivable to me a year ago when 900 yards was a LONG swim (and that was today's warm up). Incremental improvements DO get us to where we want to be!:thumbsup2

Good morning Meaners! I am late getting here since work gets in the way!!! :lmao: I am missing Nancy.......can you tell????:sad1:

Debra: My streak is actually working out every day (except one....1/25) since the new year! Last Saturday, I didn't feel like working out....but it was the last day of Feb, with workouts the whole rest of the month.....so I got on the TM for 3 miles just to say I did! I am proud of the 'creative' time I find to work out.....it's not easy by a long shot! Yes, last week was challenging, and I am glad it's over. Nancy's doing well by the way.....

Amy: Good for you finishing that race! Kudos to you! I HATE rain!!! Really do......I do anyting not to run in the rain. So, great Job!!!

AFM: So, I made it to Pump class last night. I have been consistent with Pump for a month or so, so I decided to ramp it up. I used heavier weights, and put more effort into the work out since I feel stronger......Well, this was not the class to RAMP anything up.....wow, I truly think she (the instructor) was trying to kill us! :scared1: Even the hard core workout ladies were groaning by the end of class. She put us through are paces, like Jillian on the BL! (including the screaming!) I am sore today, but actually not as bad as I thought I would be! Maybe I am getting stronger! (nice to dream!)

I didn't get up today for the TM, since I don't have a class tonight. I booked the racquet ball court for the boys, and will probably jump on the EFX or crosstrainer for an hour or so before dinner. Weird to think that an hour is scaleing back a little!!! If only I looked like I work out!.......sigh.......

Beth

Tracey Too funny. :lmao: That pic I posted was after the 5K on saturday when the weather was freaking gorgeous. I won't go into too much detail, I don't want to make anyone here Jealous. ;) No pics exist of me from the 1/2. The weather was way too nasty for DH to bring Delena down for the finish. Actually they were taking pics during the 1/2. I saw them today. all I can say is :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

I did see the 1/2 medal. It is totally awesome and I will post pics when I get it. They had tons of full medals left over. The 1/2 and full had side by side finish lines. So, to me, if the race course monitors see a full person finishing on the half side, then they should get a fake medal. Can you tell I am slightly bitter about the medal thing??:lmao: :lmao:

I now sit here contemplating a 12 k for next weekend.

Back from the local wine bar, with Marcia and running friends of mine. Sampled some good wines, and good pupus.

Then, I took Marcia on a short tour of downtown LOST filming locations. O'Tools bar http://www.lostvirtualtour.com/lost/fil ... index.html, and Murphy's bar, and several locations like the mortuary for Locke, the Seminary for Desmond (also Oxford University), the school Walt attends, the hospital where Jack, Ben, and Sayid were in the parking lot, and a few outdoor scenery shots made to look like London or Australia.

Boy, it was quiet around here yesterday! How about you 'lurkers' check in today, and say 'hi'!

I got to gym last night......with the kids in tow. DH is out of town again, so the boys came along and played raquetball while I jumped on the cross trainer for an hour. Got to see the finale of Top Chef again, but I missed some of it before so I didn't mind watching it again! Actually, the hour went pretty fast!

I am so sore today.....I am walking like the wounded.....the pump class from Tuesday has me still sore, and I have pump class again today! :scared1: I have loaded up on the Advil already this morning just so I could pound out 3 miles on the TM.

Eating has stayed pretty consistent this week. I don't feel real hungry this week, and I don't know why......but I will take it!

Beth

Just popping in to say hi. Hope all is going well with the Lean Meaners. I hope I have time later to post more.

Hi Lean Meaners! Just dropping by for a quick hello! I have a confession - I had a craving and ate several Lindt chocolates and a bag of chips :headache: :rolleyes1 The good news is that I felt really nauseous after that so that will probably be the last of the cravings I get for some time :rotfl:

:rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2: Have fun with that.

Julie - That made me laugh too!! Warmer weather is expected for the weekend - along with rain but I'm hoping to get out for a couple of walks anyway. I ordered the Shred DVD ... can't wait to check it out.

Beth - How did the 3 miles on the TM go?

Amy - Fake medals?! What's up with that? :confused3 I definitely think the full runners who turned around should have gotten the fake ones.

Debra - I wish I could grocery shopping everyday but I hate carrying things on the subway. Yeah, the medicine ball was my PT's idea. He's trying to incorporate more cardio stuff into our routine until I start running again. Then it will probably be back to weights. Remember your pills and pilates! :cutie:

AFM - I'm off to the gym tonight! Not much else going on unfortunately but yay for Friday tomorrow!! :yay:
