I'm kicking myself for not removing the datestamp feature on this camera before taking our shots.

FYI Corey10122...it would be quite easy at least for some shots like that one above to 'clone out' the date stamp...basically, since it's sitting in the black area of the shot, just paint over it with the black background or even a black pen tool in basic photo editing programs. Even something as simple as MSPaint will allow you to cut and paste a section of black from just below the date stamp to over the date stamp.

It won't be easy on all shots if the stamp is over something complex...but you could clean that one up easily. Just FYI!

Wow !! There are some really great & beautiful pics this weeks !!:thumbsup2
Kudos to all !!
it is going to be a tough vote !!

I had actually done that with a copy of this picture. In the original there was a little more detail which was lost when it was resized to be entered into the contest. I didn't want to chance having a large black box there when there were some slightly different colors around it that would make it look unnatural. I don't have any editing software with a clone tool as I don't spend a lot of time changing my pictures. I know that there's minimal editing allowed but I didn't know if that would invalidate my entry.

Sounds good...no problem on the date stamp - just wanted to let you know about editing options in case you weren't aware. Sounds like you are aware! I don't think they'd give any fuss as far as entering the photo with the date stamp cloned out, as you aren't altering the captured photo itself...just the camera's added mark. Cloning would definitely work cleaner than cut and paste...but if you don't have a cloning editing suite, the cut-and-paste should be fine for a print.

I haven't been around here in a while. We just returned from a trip to the World a couple weeks ago, so I thought I'd play again.
