Aloha Jeff: Oh, I've been running, I have, even if I'm so slow that it would seem like I was standing still if you were next to me! And forget about your Guru Les!

FWIW, yesterday's run was 4 miles in about 45 minutes. (See what I mean by slow.) And it's the running that kills my memory, I'm sure of it. I've read the stories about Mooshu, and remember most of them (including her posts), but just need the dirty details for my own evil purposes. As for Les, you just look him in the eye. It's good for you, like vegetables. (Not that I wouldn't be hiding behind you if I were at the clinic...do as I say, not as I would do.

)
Our economic stimulus check is going to defray moving costs, but I'm pretending we used it to register for ToT. (We have yet to register, so that pretense is hard to maintain.

)
Betsy: Oh, I'm no help with the accountability on the wine. Wine, especially red wine, is always on my exceptions list. Good for the heart. Besides, you did very well with the fish fry.
Tricia: So glad you had a long, relaxing walk with your friend. Much better than work meetings, IMO!
Carrie: I'm afraid proximity to ice-cream stores is a non-negotiable item on the relocation. And--eat your heart out--I live within walking distance of 6, that's right 6, ice-cream stores! You don't really think I'm leaving this nirvana, do you? And I refuse to believe that January will be a stonker for you--not if I'm going to witness your greatness! (Not to mention meeting you and Scott, maybe even volunteering at the same water stop). I've always wanted to be someone's good-luck charm, so I deem it so for you!
You really got right back into your exercise groove--1 day off? And then to give the advanced yoga class a try? I think I'm a permanent beginner and enthusiastically embraces my inner child pose.
Angie: You know, I almost believe that you owe Disney $ for helping you create so many good running memories. Oh, wait. That's not right, considering how much you've already given them. Maybe they owe you a free Goofy 2010. (C'mon, join the long-term-planning crowd....)
Cam: It's so cool that you and Rhonda have "found" each other--and you and Patricia have--in ways similar to the way Mel and Jen have. It's not quite the same as you and Howard, but I'm all for positive healthy relationships being celebrated. You're like a WISH-training buddy ambassador!

I hope your C25K W3D3 goes well and that you kick booty with the upcoming Spring Lake 5!
And yay for the fact that Howard's almost finished with his program and the degree is in sight. Of course, his post-degree plans don't sound like he's going to relax one bit--he'll just be doing more of the things that he loves. And there WILL be training for the Goofy!)
Patricia: Happy (belated) birthday!
Cecilia: That's too bad about the Peachtree, but I'm glad you have some summer races to look forward to. Point of clarification: when you say BIL has asked you to do the runs on his triathlons, does that mean you're his official substitute? (Don't know much about tris.)
Scott: An Inaugural Wish in July??? I don't know whether to say

(for the coolness factor) or

(for the heat factor). I guess it would depend on Bingham--if he can do the heat, so can I? I just got through reading your TRs, and was struck by the following thought: "Gee, Scott & Amy seem to be spending a lot of time drinking? THAT's what I've been missing in race planning!" I don't know if I could keep up, though--Mini Hoops certainly couldn't.

Plus, you managed to lose a pound in the process...that's definitely Scott's world, not mine.
Stephanie: I have to admit, I'm almost as jealous of your June trip as the Minnie trip! Sorry about the running doldrums, but better to be a XT fool than a couch potato fool. Of course, you don't sound like any kind of fool to me...
Maura: I can't imagination you as a non-outgoing/sociable type of person. I just think you're trying to avoid publishing the wild goings-on that are in your TR! Btw, I think your recovery time is phenom!
Shan: I've already tried to convince you to keep hanging out here, regardless of your running plans (peer pressure, peer pressue), so I'll be quiet on that issue. BIG CONGRATULATIONS to your DDs. Your 10yo runs much faster than I do, and I couldn't be happier for her! And your DH did okay, too.
Joan: So...do you hate the elliptical more than lawn mowing and gardening? (See, that's beyond my imagination!) Thanks for the reminder on International Fair Trade Day.
Bride Michelle: About the dress...I say as long as you're still having fun shopping and not stressing about it, keep doing it! Builds the anticipation & the bridal party memories!

I love the idea of Pilates muscles--long, lean, strong; I hope to get there. I don't know, I think your mom might like pilates [echoing Lily & Amy here] or even yoga. Or she might try some weight training. My FC has classes in all these things that are designed for beginners and/or seniors.
I also loved your description about being in the zone of running. It's happened to me before, but rarely. It's one of those goals for me, being present in the running moment. And so I appreciate it when others describe their moments for me. P.S. I like Bride Michelle as a name--it marks a very special year for you!
And pepper spray in the bedroom??? Man, I am SO vanilla.
Leana: Wow, that weather. I'm amazed at how quickly, and well, you acclimated to Florida. I just read your RRs. That self-corral idea for the 5K had to have been annoying for you. I think you had a good time for the 5K given the race conditions and your shins, and I think you will hit a sub :30 soon. About the 15K....it really is too bad that the final Minnie was essentially a promo for the Princess 1/2. As far as your race, WTG with shaving 5+ minutes off and getting through that early part of the race!
MSDave: Yay for being through with your finals (and hopefully grading) and for going to WDW next week--err, I mean conference with some Disney downtime! You should be able to deduct that, right, if you haven't already gotten funding for the trip.
Allie: Boo, hiss on the January news (even though I knew that already). You amaze me, being able to train without a Disney event in sight; I'm not sure I'm at that point yet. What's more, you're keeping up with the hill training AND outing your sweet running self in your neighborhood. (I try to avoid both.)
Lily: Great to have you back! And I loved reading your XT WO details and that it's fun. That's so inspiring to hear!
Gortman65: Welcome--you realize that it was your Monty Python reference that got you in?

I think your WR plan is perfect for you--it'll help you finish & give you chances to take plenty of pictures at the half!
(Something I regretted not doing enough of last year.)
TXAng: You're NOT a slug (and Carrie doesn't have the attention span of a gnat, either). You're building up the strength, mental and physical, to take on W4D1 again. I've been there--sometimes you need that extra day.
Jen: Just checked out your blog. Congrats on following your quilting & sewing passion by opening an online ebay store. (Pssst....that's a PSA for all you sewing folks!)
Kevin/Z: Welcome home. I can't imagine how happy you and Kristen must be!!
MB Michelle: I'm not scheduled for the DL 1/2, although I keep trying to talk DOOD into it. Maybe I need to show him a picture of your cake, and then promise him some of your cupcakes? You've got real talent with the mouth-watering sweets, don't you? Of course, you're working all those calories off with your plans. WTG signing up for the sprint! (And it's very cool that you're bringing your SIL to the dark side with you--always room for one more.)
Dana:
for you and your lab. That's scary to see, and I understand your concerns. I hope he's okay and that it's nothing serious. Give him a hug for me, and maybe a treat.
Allyson: That's one busy family schedule--you really have to squeeze in running between your DD's school and activities.

for you and all the moms and dads who accomplish this!! I can't even imagine how tough it must be.
FrenchLady: Ooooh, no hot water after a run. What an unpleasant surprise. I hope the situation is something that is easily and inexpensively fixed.
Mel: Another weekend at Disney? You've chosen your career well, I think! How are things going on that front, btw?
Bill: Can I invoke your name as reason to do the Princess? DOOD has already asked me if members of WISH jumped off a cliff....and I said, yes, because I assumed there would be a finisher's medal if I did so.

As for running by houses...I did do that last week; this week, though, it's touring the inside and I wanted to look presentable instead of sweaty. As it turns out, even if I'd turned up after my LRs I would have still been in better condition than most of the places I've seen.
Gee, it sounds like you're having to watch your back with the Animal Kingdom this week. First, the dental doggie "abuse" and then a potentially mad momma mockingbird. Hope you're running an urban race!
Tracy: That
Lost show just keeps toying with the answering questions with more questions, doesn't it? Didn't at one point they say the whole thing was grounded in science? Your 5K pace for walking is so close to my running pace--wow! And you're just another person tempting me to go to DL for the 1/2 & the bling. I WISH I could find room in the budget.

Especially because I love the Candy Cane Inn; I stayed there for my 39th bday, and they gave me free cookies & balloons!
Just caught this before I posted. You were INVITED to your racewalk? No wonder, you're so quick!

It must be serious if you're not allowed to wear your Garmi. (Awww, it'll be lonely without you.) You're going to rock this 5K, I know it!
Jackie: Great job on your 3.4 mile run--and then being able to mow the lawn. It sounds like that core work of yours is helping you, too! Thanks for the update on Galloway & stretching--it sounds slightly more measured, but not enough to convince me. Even if it made me a better distance runner, I think I'd feel better overall with less tightness in my leg muscles.
Rpsemont: Welcome!!! It sounds like you already have a good walking base to build on for your plans. Not to mix things up for you, but you could probably get into the Jan. 2009 half by going through Anthony Travel or a charity, and I think you'd have plenty of time to train. If not that, the Minnie 15 is going to shift to the Princess 1/2 in March 2009. Yeah, I'm just trying to encourage you to come to Disney events and hang with all the WISHers!
Kristi: I hope Zack like his Fitness U. His schedule sounds like it'll keep you both very busy, even without your 5K plans. Do you have any events lined up?
Amy:
for always being our guiding spirit when it comes to core and Pilates. I'm a better athlete because of your wisdom, patience, and guidance. Plus, you make me laugh regularly, so you're good for my soul.
Stacy: Girl! Welcome to the weekly thread. I'm so proud of you for doing the 5K and immediately committing the the Princess 1/2! You are doing great & I'm so glad your first WISH event has you hooked!
Lynnda:
for the Danskin tri--I know how excited you are for it, and can't wait to hear your RR (and maybe see a pic of Timmy). Btw, I think you NEED an upgrade to help you train for more tris!
As for me: Not much, I'm afraid. Now that it's my first spring in Pgh, I've discovered allergies that I didn't know I had. It makes walking and breathing hard, let alone running and breathing. Don't even ask me about chewing gum at the same time as any of the above! Luckily, it's supposed to be cold and rainy for this weekend's Race for the Cure, which I'm planning on doing with people from my Pgh SP team.
As for the rest--more apartment searching while we wait to hear back on a place. Nothing I'm excited about. On the up side, each day we search I get to try a new ice-cream flavor. Last night's was Ben & Jerry's Cinnamon Bun.

Tonight there's no search for houses, as DOOD is at commencement for his institution. In honor of the DOOD's hard work, I'm walking to the local indie theater to see a screening of
The Big Lebowski. Duuuuuude!
