Hi every1! I'm headin down to Universal Orlando and to the World for a day on Dec. 15. Me and my family(i'm 11) have never been to Florida in the winter, only in August, so we have no idea what clothes to bring. Should we bring sweatshirts and jeans or shorts and tanktops? We don*t want to be cold, but we don*t want to sweat. PLEASE HELP!!!!

I have yet to go in December (but will be there in 15 days!) but from what I've gathered on these boards, the weather is very unpredictable in December. Sometimes it's warm enough to swim and wear shorts, other times you'll need warm coats and mittens. It can also change rapidly. I have a friend who began her week at WDW swimming and ended up in her warmest clothes by the end of the week. Best advise is to check the weather channel before you go and pack based on that. Have a great trip!

Yep, if you can't get the weather forecast before you go because you'll be heading out long before you get there, make sure you bring both if you can, cause it's a crapshoot in December. Could be 40-50, could be 70-80.

Well thanx for your help. My mom looked up the weather and it looks like a cold front is coming in when were there! :-( Hope u have good trips when your in the World! Thanx again!

I have been in Dec. before and it was WONDERFUL! The days were warm enough for short sleeves, but the nights were VERY cool. Take a jacket to tie around your waist or go back to the hotel before evening fireworks, etc. The days will probably be perfect and sunny and fabulous. But sitting to wait for parades, fireworks, and such will get quite chilly. Florida always seems to be breezy, and that's what makes it feel cold at night. Just be prepared with a little of both....light jackets will be a must have.

I've worn longjohns there in December. Also worn shorts. Definitely pack for any possibility with lots of layers.

Plan to dress in layers. The nights can be very cool and the days warm/hot.

I plan on capri's and sweater sets for Jan trip. My kids will have to go swimming so that's a given. I will bring shorts because I am optimistic and I hate being hot.

Pack some polar tech fleece it's warm and light. I live down here now and it's been warm and humid this past week. Next week looks nice mid 70's and cool at night. If your coming from NY it will feel nice if your from here you may feel cool right now I would say wear jeans/pants and a short sleeve shirt during the day and have a jacket/pullover for the evenings.

We went in December a couple years ago and the first two days were delightful--warm in the day, crisp at night. The pools are heated so we went swimming and walking; it was really great. :cool1:

:thewave: Then a major cold front moved in and it snowed! I kid you not, in Orlando. The locals were freaking out! It was wet and windy and we were pretty miserable. Thankfully we were able to find some gloves and stocking caps(for a price:earseek: ) It was like that for two of our 5 days. Pretty much ruined Epcot for us--the wind whipping off the lake finally drove us outta there with our ears ringing and noses dripping. We salvaged the day by buying pizza and hot cocoa :drinking1: and watching Disney movies on cable in our room.

Take your swim suits and light weight clothes, but take some things to layer also. Stash hats and gloves as well. And bring a jacket for everyone(I was the only one who left my jacket! )
