Hi There,

Apologies if this is the wrong place to ask this!

I'm a long time lurker, rarely post...but I had a question.

My wife and I usually go to Disney in May, but we couldn't make that happen this year, and we're thinking of September now. Can anyone tell me how Disney and Surrounding parks crowds are in September vs. May?

Also, what is the weather like in September compared to May?

Thanks!
Dave

September and May are about the same temperature wise (80's-90's with high humidity) but September sees about double the amount of rain that May does. It's also peak hurricane season. Lowest crowds of the year are seen the first couple weeks of September though, so it's a fantastic time to visit. Crowds average 1-3/10.

It's still pretty warm and humid, and rainy, just like pp said.

Both are 'very' humid and hot!! Take this from a southerner!! Not sure about crowd levels - varies.

While the temps are similar, September definitely FEELS hotter. :upsidedow

It's HOT in September!! And as always, the humidity is definitely up there! I visited in Sept '07, '09, '10 and all 3 times it was very hot and humid (high 80s to mid 90s everyday!) and rained on average every other day but only for a quick "storm" around mid-day (nothing that ruined any experience). The one thing to prepare for are the "love bugs" that are literally EVERYWHERE throughout the month of September! The parks seem to have less of a population, but the bus stops and hotels are crawling with them! Dealing with them is worth it though, the weather is great and the crowds are LOW!

:cool1:

The love bugs are bad, but usually only in open grassy areas. Or while driving.... yuck.

Like others have said, September is another summer month here in the south. Now that most all kids are back in school by Labor Day though, it's a great month for vacations if you have an empty nest. My wife and I try and take advantage of this whatever our vacation destination.

Hot hot hot as mentioned...also very cold during and after the rain showers!

We've been in both May and September and the biggest difference really is the rain. In May we had maybe one or two quick rain showers, but in September (and early October one year), we had downpours that lasted in some cases all day. This does help the crowds, though. Just bring a poncho and don't be afraid to venture out and you'll find little to no wait times while people hide out in gift shops.

I think crowd-wise, it was about the same and not too bad. I think the busiest night was actually when we went to the Halloween party. That seemed very crowded, despite soem heavy rain.

We are going back in September this year and can't wait!!!!

We've been going in September regularly since 1975--RARELY have we had a solid day of rain in all those years.

And only once been impacted by a hurricane--and that was when a hurricane hit Pennsylvania, not Florida!

Now it can rain for sure, but most likely it will NOT. You might get some thundershowers, but even those can be hit and miss.

And temps are just fine--not brutally hot. And crowds very manageable.

To add that we most often go the week AFTER Labor day---
