Weather in Oct

Can someone tell me what kind of weather there is at WDW and Vero Beach in Oct? Is it warm enough to enjoy the pools at OKW and VB?

I haven't been to VB in October, but have been to WDW many times then, and we've always been able to swim in and enjoy the pools. Specifically, we've been to OKW and BWV in October.

I do remember a few nights when I needed a sweatshirt (usually after rain) and a couple windy afternoons when swimming was fine as long as you weren't at the top of the Keister Coaster stairs. There have also been days when it's been down-right HOT. Other than that, the weather's been fine on our Oct. trips.

We had to cancel a stay in a grand villa at OKW because Wilma the hurricane was passing through. We will think twice about planning Florida trips in October.

We go every October and it can be cool; it can be hot; it can be hot & humid and yes, every so often, a hurricane. Last year we encountered Wilma and as far as we were concerned it was just like one of our bad thunderstorms here in Chicago. I'll never forget the look on a maid's face, though, when our group of 5 bopped down the steps Monday morning (when they were saying stay home and stay off the roads) to go to breakfast. We drove down to Olivia's (had the place practically to ourselves) and afterwards part of our group drove over to WalMart.

If I have to be in a hurricane, I'd rather be in one at WDW. At home I can hear my porch shudder when the high winds kick up. There, I didn't even hear the main part of the storm which hit during the night. Slept right through it.

There last year during Wilma. Very hot and humid F_S_S- before Wilma, after Wilma it droped a lot Glad I took a jacket with me.
