We are considering a long weekend around Election Day(November 4). Does anyone A)know what crowds are like, B)have an idea of possible weather? We would be hoping to go to the water parks, for the first time in 10 visits and also Discovery Cove. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks!

We were there Nov 5-11, 2002 and the weather was beautiful! Not too hot, but still warm enough to wear shorts and swim. Probably the most comfortable weather I've seen at Disney.

The crowds were a bit more than we expected because it was Jersey Week and Super Soap Weekend. But I don't know what the dates for those are this year, so it might not be so bad.

HTH,
Lori

This is the time frame we have usually travelled in. It is a wonderful time for WDW!! Our last trip in '01 the weather was wonderful. Perfect for the water-parks. Low 80's during the day. Now, the first time we went in late Oct...they had a record breaking cold spell!!! It went down to the 40's at night. During the day it was in the mid 60's. THe crowds weren't bad at all. THe one place we found there to be excessive crowds was at MGM in the area of the soap stars. But, it was very defined. I would go at that time again in a heartbeat. But, now I just can't take my dd out of school for a week. So, it's Aug. for us.

I've been to Disneyworld several times in late October and early November, and I've NEVER experienced ANYTHING but beautiful weather, and VERY manageable crowds. There MAY be a bit of an attendance bump around election day (with people squeezing every bit of bang out of their off day from work) but you COULD just plan on using that specific day as a sort of "enjoy the pool at the hotel" kind of respite.
I HAVE heard tales of cold Novembers, but never have I experienced one. Instead, you SHOULD find 80 degrees and sunshine galore.
The ONLY negative I've experienced at this time of year, is that on a couple of November occasions, I've gone to one of the WDW water parks, only to find that it's MOBBED! Often one or the other of Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach will be closed for refurbishing during the month, and I think that keeps the other crammed on hot days.
All things considered though - you should have a wonderful time, with minimal ride-waits and an actual bit of elbow room as you wander, smiling down Main Street USA.

We love the weather in Nov. I do believe that the weekend you are speaking of does fall during NJ week. We found the crowds were heavier than in the end of Oct., but still manageable. If I had the choice I would probably pick a week before or after, but if this is a set date I would definitely go.

The weather this past year at that time was great. It gets a little cool at night, and we wore jackets one morning, but we swam every day and night. The only rain was at night, as well.

We were also there November 6-11 and I thought the weather was fabulous! Comfortable enough at night for the pool, and nice and warm and sunny during the day. Again, it was busiest on the weekend from the Soap folks, and it was Veterans Day Weekend but the I would say the Wednesday and thursday, Monday and Tuesday were the best days.

While you are guaranteed decent weather for park touring, pools and water parks are iffy. Some years it is summer-like, but others are cool, where swimming is almost impossible even in the hottest part of the day. At least that is what I have experienced.

Being from New Jersey, of course, that's the only week we go! LOL :D We've been there the last two years, that week, and the weather was perfect. We wore shorts and t-shirts every day into the night! Unfortunately, after last year, I won't be going that week again. I thought it was crowded, and, since I don't have kids to take out of school, will be going another week...this year the first week in December. I just hope the weather is a perfect!
