**Wearing PJ's in the theme parks**

Ohhhh.

Then, you know the garment as an Ungowa.

Ahd who gave you the right to post picture of my uncle.:headache:

In my town, wearing PJ pants during the day is looked down upon and makes people just make fun of you, its kinda sad that their are people who will march around the local walmart in their dirty Tinkerbell PJ bottoms when they should be spending their money on a nice clean pair of pants (even if their on clerance).

This extends into my school, girls who usally wear PJs to school (when its not spirt week of corse) are usally kids who moved from other towns and usally have freaky piercings in their face, (not being rude but) these girls are also in their own shady groups rather than mingling with local students.

Lets me finish by saying:Could these people please learn to wear better pants in public!!

So do the people who wear PJ pants outside in the daytime wear the same ones to bed - like a 24/7 thing or are they actually putting them on as pants?

I think it looks silly but they are just pants. Our school has so many "wear your pj's to school" days (to reward the kids for this or that) - I guess they are growing up thinking it is normal to wear your pj's all over.:upsidedow

nope - I have wore PJ pants to run errands - but I sleep nude ;)

I live in a college town and am therefore am completely immune to the horror that is the pajamas-as-proper-clothing fashion phenomenon in the late teen/early 20s set.

Speaking for myself - if I wear my sweatpants as pants all day, I do not wear them to bed!

I agree, if I am in my sweats all day, I change them when I shower... then off to bed in a different pair (that is during the winter since it is always hot here)
You know.. I have never figured out how to multi quote either & I have been here a heck of a long time.. :goodvibes

Every school I have ever worked in has had a PJ day.. they can wear their PJ's all day, but they cannot wear slippers for safety reasons.. shoes/sneakers must be worn.. we also have silly sock day & inside out day too.. wear your clothing inside out.. gee, wonder if that will eventually leak out onto the streets. Next we will see clothing worn inside out at the parks... :lmao: it temps me to try it and see if anyone that is a Dis'er sees it and posts on how tacky it is .....:rotfl::lmao::laughing:

::yes:: very well said... and no one should judge anyone on attire only. You can have the best dressed nasty snob in the world.. and the most awesome down to earth slob too.. :upsidedow

I completely agree!

My original post was not meant to suggest anything about someone's value or personality or anything along those lines. I'm sorry if it was taken that way.

That said, PJ pants and sweats should not be worn in public.

Simply... it's tacky and lazy.

For the amount of money that people spend buying lots of cheap clothes that fits poorly and falls apart, people could buy less clothing that's more expensive (i'm not talking about $150 pairs of jeans and over-priced crap) and of a higher quality. I swear by this rule (I'm a guy). For example, my favorite and longest lasting pair of dress shoes were $125. They have outlasted many a pair of $50 pairs.

Sweat pants hardly ever flatter anyone's figure, and while I know it sounds completely judgmental or superficial, I really feel like people should have pride in their personal appearance. I'm not talking about supermodel looks and whatnot. Almost anyone can look good and be comfortable if wearing appropriate clothing. I'm just talking personal pride. I personally suggest that people watch "What Not to Wear" on TLC or BBC.

Ummm...Calling people tacky and lazy certainly is suggesting something about their personality. Suggesting that people who might wear sweat pants to the grocery store don't have pride in their appearing is reaching.

Your first post reeks of classism. I know many people who would love to drop $125 on a pair of shoes for themselves but simply can't.

I am disheartened by all the judgement being passed here. Wow.

got ya... :goodvibes

.....and to each his own on what they feel comfy in. I will not wear PJ's out but I do wear sweats when I have to run to the store in the winter.. with that being said, I would not wear them to the parks.. I must have pockets when at the parks.. sweats don't cut it for me then...;) I am a jeans person.. aka as a "jorts" person according to one thread..:hippie: My DD's both have some very nice sweats (and expensive ones at that) that they do wear to school/college and to the parks... some very nice sweat suits.. and I see nothing wrong in that. They are clean, fit well and are neat looking.

Personally, if a person has on clean & well fit clothing (not showing all that God has given with lycra/spandex pants, see thru tops or butt cheek showing shorts with your thong for all to see), it really doesn't matter what they wear in the parks. Going to the parks are not like going to a Broadway play. You are going and doing lots of walking. You want to be as comfy as possible. If someone wants to wear PJ pants, by all means they should wear them. To me, the person will not look out of place.. it is a theme park, not a formal event...

I have worn PJ pants to the corner bodega and the laundromat (it was early and I was sick and needed meds and ginger ale, and with the laundromat I was out of clean non-pj clothes), but they look like they could be yoga pants so... At least they don't have holes in the butt - and I wear underwear. (Yes, I've had the misfortune of encountering someone at the laundromat who had a hole in the butt of her pretty-tight shorts, appeared not to be wearing any underwear (or was wearing a thong), and didn't seem to care. Really? Ew!

The one thing I don't get are the young girls who run around in those tight shorts or pants with writing on the butt and then want to complain when people are looking at their butts. If you don't want people looking, don't put writing back there. It's pretty simple - or seems that way to me.

Actually gone are the days when people really dress for theatre. I've even seen stars at opening nights dressed pretty casually.

While I would not do it, I don't see it as offending. If they are comfy, what business of mine is it to comment on whether they are in their PJ's or not. Some times it is better to see PJ's than spandex on people..

I supposed it really depends on how long the person's been wearing them on whether or not they are offensive :lmao: After about the 3rd full day would be my guess.

I was in line behind a lady in Wal-Mart the other day that was wearing a hospital gown. I sure wish she'd had on PJs...

:scared1:

I do wish that more people would make use of a mirror before they go out. I don't expect people to be fashion models but being clean and reasonably covered would be good.

As for pajamas, they are called sleepwear for a reason. I guess that they would be handy when I doze on Ellen's Energy Adventure though. ;)
