We love Donald Duck, oh yes we do! - Link to the PTR - COMPLETE

Shamrock Shakes - mmmmmm - being a mint-loving gal myself (only the chocolate/mint combo trumps mint for me) I am SO with you on the Shamrock Shake! I didn't know they were out yet though - so rest assured I will be checking the local McD's this weekend! :thumbsup2

Great updates - and I love the pictures! It's great to see all the details...reminds me that one of these days I need to slow down while at WDW...:cloud9:

Since the lines were insane we just walked around and enjoyed MK for a while.

We tired on some hats.

IMG_6480Small.jpg

Which Henry still didn't like.

IMG_6482Small.jpg

Of course the Dut Dut one he did keep on for more than 3 seconds. :goodvibes

Henry decided shortly after this that he was hungry. So I went off to Cosmic Rays to see what I could find for him and Joe went to ride on SM, in hopes the FP line has shortened up.

After Joe rode and met up with me at Cosmic Rays I took my turn on SM, and thankfully the line had shortened up quite a bit! There was still a bit of a wait, but nothing unbearable.

While I rode, Joe and Henry scoped out a spot for Spectro and Wishes.

After my awesome ride on SM, Joe navigated me to where he was via cell phone. Despite it being a full hour before Spectro, the place was PACKED. Joe told me over the phone he had found a decent spot for Wishes, but it wouldn't be very good for Spectro.

After we found each other, Joe went off for one reason or another (can't recall why exactly), so Henry and I hung out a bit and waited for Spectro. Out came the light up Mickey toy!

IMG_6484Small.jpg

After Joe returned, I went off to get us dinner since we were getting hungry.

My feet led me straight to the wonderful CHH!

2 Anchors Away Sandwiches, applesauce and an order of fries, to go please!

IMG_6488Small.jpg

I LOVE their fries. We just got one order, so while I wanted them all, I saved half for Joe. He told me the next day he just thought they were "eh". Next time I'm eating ALL HIS FRIES! ;)

Back at our designated spot I realized I had not grabbed a spoon for Henry's applesauce. And when he saw food he let us know, very clearly :rolleyes1, that he wanted that applesauce!

So, I kneeled down and managed to feed Henry his applesauce with a straw.

That was an ordeal! :rotfl:

Joe was off somewhere during this time again. Perhaps to get something else for Henry to eat, maybe for a restroom break? My memory fails me, all I can recall is us running all over back and forth from our spot for various reasons and me kneeling down and trying to feed an applesauce lovin' toddler with a straw.

Note to self: PACK A SPOON IN YOUR DAY BAG! :rotfl2:

Eventually, we were all fed and happy,

IMG_6489Small.jpg

a few necessary shots of the Castle were taken...and Spectro started!

And Joe was right, our spot STUNK!

We watched a bit of it...all these shots are dodging people, standing on my tip toes, trying to find the best angle...

Henry got a decent view taking turns for a bit on our shoulders. We could tell he enjoyed it-pointing and making all sorts of "comments", but he was pretty squirelly on our shoulders, so that didn't last too long either. Eventually he was more interested in his Mickey spinner and since I couldn't really enjoy the parade, I decided that while the crowds watched Spectro I would take advantage of the empty pathways and make a restroom stop.

On the way back from the restroom I made a wrong turn and found myself in the Main Street Bakery again.

Now, how did that ever happen?!

:confused3  :confused3

:rotfl2:

Confession Time: While in line, with my mind and heart set on an ice cream sandwich, I called Joe and said something along the lines of "Hey hon, do you want to share an ice cream sandwich? I'm right here near Main Street Bakery...the line is short..."

He he he. I'm naughty.

:ssst:

He actually wasn't in the mood for one, but I convinced him to share it with me. It was really tough...

After I got back, we dove into the lovely ice cream sandwich

IMG_6517Small.jpg

and Wishes started shortly after. Such a beautiful show...

After the show, we joined the mobs and made our way slowly out of the park. I commented to Joe how I wanted to grab some pictures of Main Street on our way out...no matter how many I take, they just never do it justice!

IMG_6696Small.jpg

As we neared Casey's I noticed a woman on an ECV that was being very pushy, getting dangerously close to the people's feet in front of her and also swerving quite a bit trying (unsuccesfully) to get around people. She kept swerving toward the stroller, which made me nervous, so I opted to walk on that side in hopes of protecting the stroller (and my baby!) and detering her from being so pushy.

Well, that didn't work one bit. She kept trying to swerve and get ahead any centimeter she could. :sad2:

Before I knew it, I was screaming in pain, the woman in the ECV had run over my foot and STOPPED on it. I screamed "YOU ARE ON MY FOOT!" (not rudely, just LOUDLY!) as I bent down and tried to yank it out from under the tire. I have no clue if I was able to yank it out, or if she pulled forward. What I do know is that there was zero apology from her or her husband walking next to her.

I stopped traffic with my yelling though, that's for sure! I had a circle of people around me. Thankfully I was able to bear weight on it, but I was limping pretty good and there was a sharp pain down the side of my foot.

I hobbled out of MK and when we got to the bus stop I examined my foot. It wasn't bruising, and didn't look swollen. Whew. The cruddy thing was, my other foot had been giving me pain all week and the ankle was swelling. (This foot and ankle I hurt very nicely while pregnant with Henry...I've had minor issues with it since.) I was a wreck! :guilty: Both feet were bum now! What would that mean for the rest of our trip? Were we going to have to rent an ECV?

Back at SSR Henry went to bed and I put my legs up and iced them. Joe was very concerned about the one that had gotten run over, thinking there might be a hairline fracture, but, since it just hurt and I had no swelling or anything, we figured we'd just see how it was in the morning.

Reflections on day five: Today the weather was beaaaaaaaaaautiful. Henry wore shorts! The best thing about today was that we finally rode the Jungle Cruise and loved it!! The worst thing about today was the crazy crowds and lines and getting my foot run over by an ECV. The most magical moment was when Henry got another cookie from the Main Street Bakery. Overall, I felt today was kinda an eh day. The crowds in the park prevented us from riding many things, and they were a bit annoying. We crossed the park so many times and still didn't get to do the one thing I reallyyyyy wanted - the picture of Henry with Zurg. :guilty: But, despite the crowds, the Carousel incident and having my foot run over by an ECV, we still had fun, I just need to shake it off and realize some days are like this!

Notes to self: When Spectro doesn't run on every night, do not go to MK on a day where it does run. (Though, that wasn't our plans initally...still a good note to remember!) Brazillian tour groups like bright colors. Pack a spoon and an ENTIRE extra outfit in Henry's day bag. The ice cream sandwiches from Main Street Bakery are straight from Jesus. They are good.

Up next: The Waffle Fry Vulture

Great updates Brook!

First of all - Shamrock Shakes?   Yummy! Oh what memories from my Jersey days! I haven't seen them in Mass. though. What we do get up here at our McDonald's are Lobster Roll sandwiches. $14 bucks a piece! Yeah, because when I want lobster, I think of McDonalds! :rolleyes1

I still cannot get over the size of that free cookie. I need to look for one of those the next time I go. Do you think they'll give them out for free to 44 yr.old women who bat their eyes and giggle?;)

I loved your pictures in Minnie's house! You caught so many great details! And I have to admit - I didn't notice the joke about the "palm" tree. I had to start at it for awhile before I realized! DUH!

I absolutely LOVE this picture! It's just so cool!

You CRACK ME UP!! "Do you think they'll give them out for a free to a 44 yr.old women who bat their eyes and giggle?" :rotfl: LOVE IT!! I think if you caught the right CM you would DEFINITELY have a chance though!

Lobster rolls?! Really?! That's NUTS. It would sorta icks me out to think of McDonalds selling lobster for some reason too... And $14! Man!

It took me a minute to "get" the palm tree too. I started at it in Minnie's for a minute, knowing it had to be something...then pointed and jabbed Joe and cracked up.

The views from way up in the CR are really awesome aren't they? Just exploring the Tower made me want to stay there even more sometime.

Glad I could provide the tip on the Shamrock Shakes! :goodvibes I am a HUGE mint fan too. Starlite Mints are my favorite candy! :rotfl:

I have really enjoyed following Joe's desire and taking it sloooooow through the parks. We don't get to ride as much/see as much, but what we do see, we really take in.

I hope your next trip still works out so you can take in some of those details!

OMGosh!!
I swear if they handed out Oscars for Tr's you would win!!

Wow, those pics of the castle:)

Henry is so adorable!!!!! ANd after reading earlier today, Ava and I headed to McD's...!!! That shake did it!

Brook, what kind of camera are you using?!

Just beautiful..everything abt your trip:) Feel like I am there with ya!

/
The nerve of that woman!!!! I have to comment on her first!!!! I can't believe that she didn't even apologize!!! So rude! :headache:

I will have to remember that MK tends to be really crowded on Spectro days -- it isn't running everyday in June either.

So glad you liked the Jungle Cruise -- so fun! That ice cream sandwich sure looks good!

I totally missed the post about Henry's $28 outfit. It's cute!

That is too bad about your Spectro viewing spot and too bad about the crowds too. I'll have to remember to just pop into MK to watch Spectro instead of spending the whole day there. :thumbsup2

I can't believe that woman ran over your foot and didn't even apologize. I think my eyes would have shooting really evil looks towards her. I understand that people need those but they sometimes act like they have the right of way instead of waiting their turn like everyone else. Grrrrr.

I really hope that you wake up and your foot is fine. :goodvibes

Oh my gosh! What an awful woman. :sad2: It really bothers me when people put themselves as center of the universe and everybody else just better get out their way. I'm so sorry your foot got hurt, I hope it wasn't too bad and that you were able to enjoy the rest of your trip.

Your Wishes pictures are beautiful once again!

The pictures of Henry in the Donald Duck hat and the Small World one are especially sweet. I love watching Brooklynn's face in Small World.

The Wishes pictures are awesome!

Glad you got to ride Jungle Cruise, and for the sake of everyone on board, I'm glad you played right into the hands of the tour guide. People from all over the country, perhaps all over the world, now get to tell a fun story about the lady who was all in a panic about the elephant who was about to give her a big old shower!

:scared1: I hope your foot was OK! I hate those stupid ECV's. Of course I'm all for them if someone actually needs them, but so many times people use them just because they don't want to walk, and then they knock everyone down without a care    Something similar happened back in 2005 when some lady ran me over in the bathroom and then yelled at me for being in the way, before she walked off into a stall. I was PISSED! Just because you're too lazy to walk gives you no right to ram into people  UGH, it's just one of those things that get to me down there!

On a brighter note, Henry's new outfit is too cute! He looked like such a big boy sitting on the carousel and IASW :goodvibes I love his red hair too, so cute! do either you or Joe have red hair in the family??

 "I'm lovin' it!"

That is so sad that you guys are denied the Shamrock Shake! I really don't understand why it isn't at every McDonalds. :sad2:

I love your "Minty curves" comment!! I'll call mine french fry curves! ;)

Oh I have french fry curves too! And chocolate curves, and cheeseburger curves, and mexican food curves and.... You get the idea! :rotfl2:

:lmao: :lmao: I laughed out loud at this! I've got some extra curves myself, but alas, they aren't from Dairy Queen, we don't have any left around here. :sad2: Everytime we drive to Dallas I make DH stop at one so can have a dipped cone! Yum!

DQ was like the only fast food place in the town I grew up in. It took me ten years after leaving home to want to go back to DQ again. Add on top of it being the only fast food place, that my bf worked there? I was DQ'd out!! But now I'm digging their waffle bowl sundaes... unfortunately.

They still are pretty big in Texas. In fact, the commercial they run here, is "DQ-That's what I like about Texas".

I hope that's not what everyone likes about Texas... that would be sad. :rotfl:

I laughed out loud too - she's a riot!

Mine could could be from DQ - DQ French Fries! (which I had with my lunch today....:rolleyes1)

That's strange that you have no DQ's left...I think DQ was started in OK!

Oooh Fuddruckers....I've heard wonderful things! I've never been there though! Red Robin is another dreamy burger place. :cloud9:

Red Robin is YUM! I love the onion rings especially. They have kids eat free everyday at ours... tempting!

I need to try Fuddruckers again, it's been years. I had Steak N Shake yesterday for the first time and I didn't see what all the fuss was about. My favorite fast food burger is Whataburger!

Brook- What day was that MK Day? Because we were there the same week y'all were and I know our MK days were nuts and they were both the Spectro days. I'm thinking we were both in the MK on the same day!!! :yay: Too bad we didn't set up a meet! :sad2:

Poor Henry and poor Mommie with the *IT* incident. Whether you smell, *IT*, see *IT* or feel *IT*, it's never fun for a mom in a crowded place be it airplane or the carousel at Disney World! Glad y'all handled it and found a cute outfit to boot.

:lmao: @ you shrieking on Jungle Cruise. That's hillarious. I seem to remember falling for it a time or two and I'm not a Jungle Cruise newbie.

I'm still lovin' it ! and NO Shamrock Shakes at my MickeyD's!

I love Shamrock Shakes and any kind of mint dessert! Have you had Breyers Mint Chocolate Chip? That is my favorite ice cream right now.

The main street bakery sounds wonderful, I can't wait to try it!

Sorry about the lady running over your foot, that is horrible! I hope your foot is better now, both of them for that matter!

Henry having wet pants at MK is something I can identify with. We took my DS when he was 18 months to WDW and he had a couple blow outs. One time we had just boarded the bus when we realized it happened. It started to leak out during our long ride to the studios. My DH, who was holding on to DS, was in a panic. It was a nightmare.:scared: I'm sure everyone on the bus could smell it. However, the people were very nice and understanding. As soon as we got out, we changed his clothes on a bench. Luckily I had brought extra clothes for him, but DH needed his shirt changed! I wiped up what I could and we eventually just left and went back to our room.

Great updates, can't wait to hear more!

Hi Brook! I am all caught up now... Shamrock Shakes... humm, I will be on the look out for them here. I don't ever remember hearing of them before. Love anything chocolate and mint! :lovestruc
Once again I am smiling at what a sweet, sweet family you all are. Henry is blessed to have such wonderful parents!
Wow, your poor foot!!! That was very obnoxious to not even acknowledge the fact that your foot was run over! Amazing! :confused3 :sad2: I hope it doesn't affect the rest of your vacation!

OMG- so sorry you were run over by an ECV! Hopefully the next morning it wasn't too serious.

Darn you for igniting my lust for ice cream sandwiches from the Main Street Bakery all over again! :rotfl: I don't know how I'm going to wait 7 months for one!

I :lovestruc Jungle Cruise too. And somehow, despite full knowledege that all the "animals" are audio-animatronic I always come away with tons of pictures. :confused3

Hope the crowds get more manageable! :goodvibes

Shamrock shakes are so yummy!! I hope a McDonald's in my area has them for me to get LOL!!

Wonderful Wonderful updates Brook! You give such great detail and I really really can picture myself there right along with you!!

WOW to your wishes pictures they were simply amazing you did a great job!!! I can't wait to see and hear more about your report!!

Corny jokes...man I do love me some corny jokes!

Another fabulaous update!

How is the little guy doing? Croup getting better?

Beautiful pictures of Wishes!!!

I'm sooo sorry you got run over my a ECV! OMG! That's awful!! I hope the injuries didn't cause too much pain and problems!

Great updates. I just love reading your posts!! Sorry to hear about your EVC incident- people can be SO RUDE- and hope your foot is better. Henry is as cute as ever!!
Cant wait to read more...
