We finally closed yesterday. I can't believe it after all the issues we had, even leading up right up until closing. :cool1: I got the email today. I am very happy about this, and a bit nervous. I just called and canceled our cash reservation. I knew it would take a few days to get our refund from that, and I wanted to go ahead and get the money back from that so I can purchase annual passes and such.

Now I wait to get into Disney's system. How long has it been taking lately? I have read of people being there in a couple of days, up to a couple of weeks. Is there any reasoning to who this part works? Is there a certain time of day that I should call to check? Like, do they load them in the mornings, and I should call after noon? Etc.?

Thank you everyone for the help!

It took us about 7 or 8 days to get our resale points into the system, I think?

*** I did see my contract loaded in the system at the end of the day, but then it took until the following afternoon for the points to be accurately placed into the the appropriate UYs. If this happens be patient (it has happened to us twice now with 2 resale contracts); try to give them 24 hours once your contract is loaded to work out any kinks.

Congrats - refresh my memory again - where is your new home? :wizard:

The average time is 60 days from start to finish. If you are a new member, maybe a bit longer because your account has to be set up. Several CM's are involved and your paperwork goes from desk to desk.

We made the offer on March 9, so, we are past the 60 day mark at this point. I gave up on that a long time ago! Is the only way to check if we are in the system is by calling if we are new members?

Our new home is OKW! We are so excited! I have yet to actually see it in person, but, all the pics I have seen, as well as all the rave reviews it gets, I know we are going to love it!

Congratulations. and Welcome Home! it took us 9 nya till our points showed up.

We closed on May 12 and May 14. I just called Disney today, as we have banked points I'd really like to use to make reservations. They said that they have an overwhelming amount of contracts, and right now, they are working on contracts that have closing dates in the first week of May. I saw another person who closed May 1 on the boards and the points still aren't showing up in the system. Normally, it's about a 7 - 10 day wait once you show up on Orange County's Comptroller's website, but it's probably more like 15 - 20. :sad2: I bet we still have another couple of weeks based on that info.

In the note from the broker telling us we closed, she also included this information:

Please wait approx. 10 to 14 days to do the following steps. This is the usual amount of time it takes Disney to make a transfer. Your account is set up first and then in about 2-3 days the points will show up. Another department transfers the points after they are notified that there is an account set up.

*1) Call Disney at xxx-xxx-xxxx option 1 and then option 1 again.
*2) Tell them you are a new member and would they see if your name appears on their computer.
*3) If "yes", ask for your member number---if "no", call again in a few days (several departments are involved in a transfer)
*4) Confirm points in your account
*5) Make reservations, bank points or wait to decide what you want to do with your points.

I was notified we closed May 2nd... we were in the system and ready to go by May 10th! :thumbsup2 We used Fidelity and they told us to wait 1-2 weeks.

Sorry, I am a bit confused - you said you were past the 60 day mark - but you were notified by your resale agency that you closed, correct?

Congrats!!!

We closed on May 1st and we are still not in the system.

Hope you have a faster time than us!

Congratulations and welcome home! :)

It took us 14 business days (18 calendar days) to get in the system after closing (we closed 4/19 and were part of the 3/20 rush though) and you just need to keep calling to check. I would not worry about whether you show up on the Orange County Comptroller website or not though-- our info didn't show up online there until almost two weeks *after* we were in the system and already had our first reservation!

14 calendar days to be loaded into the system. i would usually call around noon each day. the final day i called in the morning and wasnt in but decided to try one more time at 5:30 and low and behold i was there. made the mistake of calling in the car on my way home from work - almost wrecked! i dont recommend that. they do load contracts all during the day.

congrats we purchased at OKW in Nov and will be taking our first DVC stay next Wed-Sun there. We too had never stayed there and bought based on the pics. After we bought we went over and visited to get the feel of home and loved it.

I dearly love OKW! If you liked the property and the "vibe," you'll love the spacious rooms and the balconies on the 1 and 2 bedrooms! :goodvibes IMHO, it doesn't get much better! :cloud9:

I truly can't wait to stay at OKW. We are looking to be at BLT or AKL for our first stay, but, next summer when we do a 10 day stay, we are going to go for OKW. It will be the perfect place for a long stay! I am hoping on our "off" day in October to visit "home."

Still waiting to be in the system, and dutifully calling daily. I can't help myself at this point! They are always so nice when I call, and see so much more informed than when I have called the regular Disney number. I hope that stays that way. I have been missing the "Disney Magic" while doing this resale!
