WDW “Content Creators” Invading DLR

I don’t mind watching content that is informative or giving a review of something. But when they start just streaming their day it gets annoying to me.i dont follow any of these bloggers regularly because of this.

But apparently because I don’t enjoy riding the monorail with somebody shining an intrusive light while loudly narrating their video, I’m naughty.
Would find that annoying as well. Shining a light in an enclosed cabin seems like amateur hour though so I'm not sure I would even file that to a "content creator." The video was likely garbage.
I don’t disagree wiith you. Isn’t it always the minority that spoils it for the majority?

In general, I think guest etiquette is poor when it comes to Disney. I suspect it’s because people feel entitled, since they’re spending so much money.
My experience has been the two coasts are very different when it comes to guest etiquette:
  • Disneyland is more of a locals park so you get a larger number of teens hanging out and causing trouble. There are times at that park that it doesn't feel that different from a Six Flags and that isn't a good thing. The clientele seems to be more laid back though as this isn't a "once in a lifetime" trip.
  • Disney World is usually families with younger kids or adult couples with both groups over optimizing every aspect. The people seem to generally be polite but occasionally you see someone snapping because rope drop to close with three kids was too much lol.
Both coasts are worlds ahead of what I've seen at your more traditional amusements parks though so I don't judge it too harshly. People in general suck.

Yesterday was the beginning of the Food & Wine Festival. As they have done in the past, they had a soft opening of booths on Thursday. A lot of people with Disney social media accounts (both big and small) know about the soft openings and were in DCA on Thursday. It looks like yesterday, Disney held an invitation only event for media and larger influencers. It included photo ops, culinary demos, display of food offered, etc.

This is an example of the staging they have for the media/influencer event. (photo from Megan the Magical Millennial)

It looks like a travel agency is sponsoring Mammoth Club (a large WDW influencer) to do a review of GCH and visit the F&W Festival.

It’s pretty much well know on these boards how much I dislike “influencers”. I have literally seen them ruin opening day events for young families that had no idea the day would be overrun by wannabe gangs of you tubers. I worked at the OG Disneyland for 8 years. The magic of seeing the park & and characters through the eyes of the child is priceless. And, I’ve seen with my own EYES how this experience is trampled by some of these groups.

City Hall is probably tired of my feedback, but I don’t care. Every time I see something crazy or disruptive by an “influencer” I stop a manager or head to Main Street for a conversation. Tired of it. Put the phones & mikes down and just enjoy Walt’s beautiful vision.

I don’t go to the parks often enough to see this as you have but I totally agree they can ruin the experience. 99.9% of them come off as grifters.

Keep up the good work. Thank you. I can't stand how Disney contradicts its commercial filming policies by giving these grifters carte blanche.

Unfortunately influences drive business to the parks so their misdeeds will often be overlooked/

Mgmt “claims” that they are trying to work on a better balance. I’ve heard them say over and over that they know you tubers can ruin ride experiences and also overtake areas & character meets at the expense of regular guests. I know of two well know influencers that literally should be banned from the DLR for their behavior. Grifter is the perfect definition of these idiots.

There are a lot more than just two. I’ve said for the last couple of years that Disney needs to start charging them a license or permit annually and use some sort of a vetting process. They can go onto YouTube and report the ones that aren’t approved and make sure they are not monetized.

Permits are an excellent idea, Coach. That way Disney could pull the permits of vloggers who repeatedly interfere with other guests' experience, while allowing those who keep a lower profile to continue their work.

These are definitely commercial enterprises and should be treated as such under Disney's own stated rules.

Can I get examples

I'm fine with bad behavior being called out but when its under the Umbrella of the Influences ruining it for everyone else but when I go almost every week when I see Freshbaked...Magical Journeys...Pops Disney Adventure are literally doing there own thing and in no way ruining it for others other then having a camera out

Of Course going is amazing and the people who can go its a privilege but I just got lucky and was born in CA....I don't have issues with people born in poor, or other countries wanting to see the magic as well and getting to for free is a bad thing. The Parks are packed so its not affecting Business its only allowing more people to want to come to the park and become fans from afar

Disney could also abuse the system and make it where if you don't like everything they can just kick you out and basically lose anyone with an Interesting Voice like Bricky and maybe even Freshbaked because they aren't yes men

Freshbaked...Magic Journeys...
I've seen them in the parks as well as another couple that have a big YouTube following. When I have seen them, they have been very respectful and don't take up a lot of space. In fact, they take up less space and have been less intrusive than most families at the parks.

My issue is with the smaller ones who 100% only care about themselves. They walk and talk while taking video and weave through the crowd instead of paying attention to where they are walking. I've had rides completely ruined by people holding up their phone, taking video and selfies, talking away to their camera. I go ahead and stick my mad face in their frame. They ruined my ride. I ruined their video.

I've not been to WDW in 25 years so that visit predated these YouTube idiots because YouTube didn't yet exist!
We have been to DL a few times since buying DVC last year and I haven't seen them once, thankfully. If I had, and
the individuals involved were loud and obnoxious as described, it would be irritating to say the least.

Disney should disallow this in the parks but until the paying masses voice concern, they will continue to conclude it
isn't hurting them and if anything, helping by providing "free" advertising. Only when people let Disney know of their
dissatisfaction with the distractions these people are creating and that it will affect park attendance will Disney reevaluate
the policy to turn a blind eye.

I didn't even see this at Universal Orlando which I can't help but think would be more prone to this.

Can you name names? Because I would like to see these videos?

At least the people I follow which is a lot..do not behave like this

I go to the parks a good deal and like....at least for me I just don't not get unlucky and have someone talking on a ride unless its like a group or family talking on small world or pirates

So you haven't see them and never seen anyone behaving poorly but want them banned.....

TBH I think filming being banned on a lot of rides has the effect of there being less vloggers in the parks. Why would you livestream from there if you are not allowed to show the rides? Same with filming being banned in all of the HHN houses.

Reread my post. If I saw them AND they were behaving as the other post described, my opinion would be that Disney should take action to eliminate the disruptions.

This part is what made me think you want them just gone "Disney should disallow this in the parks".

Come to think of it, perhaps this is why UO takes such a hardline approach to phones going so far as to have metal detectors at many of the ides. It was clear at the onset, while they mention all sorts of things not allowed on the rides, the one thing they seemed adamant about enforcing the rule on was the cellphone. I once forgot that I had a tin of mints from Toothsome in my pocket. It is a pretty big tin, about half the size of my iPhone 15. They didn't care in the least. When we are there again next month, I will no longer find the metal detectors to be a pita! lol.
