We have a split stay coming up: Sun-Thurs in BCV and Thurs-Sun at Poly

On our Poly check in day, we are having lunch at Cake Bake restaurant so will probably only want a light bite for dinner. We are thinking it might be a good day for Trader Sam's. We'll probably arrive Poly around 1:30pm and would like to eat 6-7:30pm. Any sense of when we should join the waitlist? This is the first week in March, so low to moderate crowds.

Second question: we have an Ohana dinner reservation Sat at 7:45 pm. We dined there a few weeks ago and didn't notice any obstruction of the view but we were three rows in from the window and there pre-fireworks. This time we'd like to try for a fireworks table. Can anyone comment on the construction's impact on the views? I had forgotten about it at that recent visit and wasn't looking critically but it seemed like not a big deal? I am asking because I'm wondering if maybe we should skip Ohana on this trip.

Maybe I am being slow this Monday morning, but what construction is going on? We stay at Poly once or twice a year and I don't recall/don't recall hearing about any significant construction that would be viewable from Ohana when we were there last (the only significant construction I noticed on our last stay was on the roads/entrance, which is on the other side of the building). Did they start a new project?

Check out the Poly thread. @mrsap has been posting pictures of the construction, lots of scaffolding going up around the Grand Ceremonial House and it's been posted that views at Ohana will be obstructed.

Regarding trader Sam’s it will tell you when to go to join the waitlist the estimated wait. The thing you have to remember is it works just like every other mobile walk up waitlist, you have to be right next to the venue to do it.

Yes I know that's been posted, which is why I am asking. I recently dined at Ohana (after the construction began that is supposed to obstruct the view) and I don't recall noticing any construction. However as I mentioned upthread, we were not seated near a window and dined pre-fireworks. Maybe we just did not notice any construction because it was dark out and we weren't trying to look at anything, maybe the view is not obstructed in certain parts of the dining room, or maybe the view isn't actually obstructed at all. What I was hoping for with this post is some first hand information.

I also posted in that Poly thread but got no reply.

Yes will will arrive Poly at 1:30. We plan to hang out at the resort until our room is ready.
