WDW “Content Creators” Invading DLR

It would be very easy for Disney to enforce the “no commercial use rule” by taking away Magic Keys from folks who are uploading commercial content to YouTube.

It’s obvious they are ok with the practice even if it technically breaks the rules around ticket use.

So then anyone filming with a MK would be banned?

Like if Freashbaked got banned and someone else started to film the parks but not make money would that be allowed?

Feels like just a hard rule to enforce

Disney will have whats known as PR lists. This is basically a mailing list of various content creators, and will have different levels. It means that Disney therefore is allowing content creators to be in the parks. Content creators are in essence promoting Disney. This is very different to the non commercial clause on the park tickets. Disney dont want people using Disney IP and Disney property to promote a non Disney product or service.

Of course not.

If an MK was regularly posting videos that were set to be monetized on YouTube, they would revoke their MK for breaking the rules of their ticket.

It wouldn’t catch every creator but there are obviously big, well-known creators that they could enforce the rule with and it would successfully send the message that they care about the rule.

But they don’t because they don’t mind the publicity. It is a rule that is there for them to enforce when they don’t like or approve of the commercial activity. It’s obvious by their actions they don’t mind the YouTubers.

Because creators making money hurts people's feelings on the internet.

LOL, keep dreaming. Very few people make $$$ off of TikTok. We had two of the top 15 on our client roster and the payouts from the creator fund were meager. People think they’re going to make money, but few do. And I’ve personally made a lot of money off those few.

But apparently because I don’t enjoy riding the monorail with somebody shining an intrusive light while loudly narrating their video, I’m naughty.

Please...video or picture this

Because most Vloggers/Live Streamers aren't doing that from what I've seen. I'm not saying these things don't happen but I've had just as much bad luck with normal guests as I do with Vloggers. I've been in Pirates boats where people just talk or do flash but many don't want to ruin the experience and are just trying to share the park

I don’t disagree wiith you. Isn’t it always the minority that spoils it for the majority?

In general, I think guest etiquette is poor when it comes to Disney. I suspect it’s because people feel entitled, since they’re spending so much money.

I do think one of the most hated vloggers at WDW is Kyle Pallo. I think he will eventually go in the way of Micheal Kay at some point. His friend JoJo, who vlogs, might have more staying power for a while.

I don't think the intent of this thread was to call out or discuss particular WDW vloggers. @LAS2AMS correct me if I am wrong, but I believe you were commenting about an increase in the in-your-face style of vlogging that is found at WDW.

I mean, if people are acting in bad faith please call them out...making Vlog's you don't like is whatever but if people are like using lights on rides, talking loudly on rides etc...I think its fine to call them out

Well Kyle has DL vlogs running this very week. So I guess he was there last week? It seem like this series is not too bad, but I wasn't at DL when he was there, so I don't know if he was intrusive at all or not to other guest. Hopefully not.

Kyle will dwindle out. However he gets more views than Jojo right now. The dude has 1.6mil subs and average maybe 15k-20k per video. That’s not good. Plus he can’t even function as an adult. His dad has to come from New Jersey to get him to clean his car to donate it. Jojo didn’t know how to jumpstart it or use a key to open the trunk. Dad pays for everything and he boasts about it yet also is showing off his Tesla he paid cash for (dumbest move especially as a small business owner). He’s clueless.

Kyle is the absolute worst. He even grabbed his girlfriend’s arm and violently moved it out of the way of his camera after he hurried across to the room to film her ice cream. Poor girl was just putting her purse on the chair. There is a lot more but this isn’t the venue.

The bubble will burst and the strong may survive. That is, until the next iteration of media.

You're right. I had no idea JoJo was getting less views right now than Kyle. No that is not good. I would have never thought because I like JoJo better than Kyle by far. But ya, they will dwindle out at some point.

I think if your business model is to wake up around noon, spend 2 hours in the parks on a whim, film yourself speaking nonsense (including non-words or incorrect words), drinking alcohol, eating junk food, then your views should go down. This isn’t the Truman Show. You have to have a plan. If the only thing you do is go to theme parks and on cruises then you should do basic research and share relevant, correct information with your audience otherwise you’re just posting up home movies and people tend to dislike laziness so they stop watching.

I was there yesterday and didn't see any I recognized as WDW bloggers. I saw one guy having his kids video him talking about some food item, presumably from one of the Lunar NY food booths. I also saw a 20-something gal with her dude at a table snapping photos of all the food items they got, then she was angrily "directing" him how to snap her photo. I was using the wall nearby as a spot to eat.

I do know that one of the worst of the WDW vloggers is headed to DLR this week, that is Kyle Pallo, grifter extraordinaire.
I agree. I can’t stand that guy. Most of them actually.
