WCC - ADR for appetizers only?

I have an ADR for a late lunch (2.20 pm) at WCC in October. DD so badly wants to eat there. I had this dilemma when I was picking my restaurants but the menu really doesn't have much on that I care for. Is it considered bad form to just order an appetizer? The kids meals actually look quite nice - I suppose it would be even worse to order one of those for myself ....

So the question is, should I let them know beforehand that this is my intention or is it totally taboo? Or do is there a better "off peak" time that would be more acceptable? I will be paying OOP as we are on the QSDP so we aren't exactly short of meal credits :rolleyes1

You can order anything you want when you sit down to eat at a restaurant, at WDW or anywhere else! You can just order apps, just desserts, or every single course they offer!!

And, there are several people out there who go to places like Cali Grill and order only apps and sushi and they end up spending more than if they would have just ordered an entree. But they ordered what they liked and were happy.

They won't bat an eyelash when you order an appetizer as your entree.

Just say something like, "I'd like the ______ as my lunch, thanks :)"

Our group of 4 also really liked the corn bread when we went in January if you wanted to make a more substantial meal. I also would totally order a kids meal for myself if it sounded good:thumbsup2

We thought the same thing about Sci-Fi can you just make an ADR and go in just get a milk shake?

No idea. Disney aside, I have never had to make reservations in the "outside world" for getting a drink/dessert/light snack. The only reason I questioned whether it was okay was that I am well aware that someone is earning a living off the tables and obviously a party of 2 sitting down and totalling a $20 bill is a bit of a waste of time for them.

But then looking at the reasoning of the other posters on this thread, it shouldn't be a problem. I did try and book away from the peak time so hopefully it will help a bit. I guess if you wanted you could just call and ask. But then you are back to the story of which CM knows what

My logic says that if you order a shake, you will be in and out of there in a short space of time so they can still seat another party there afterwards.

I know that you CAN do this, but it was more a question of whether it was frowned upon that bothered me. However, in light of the previous posts on here, it appears not.
