Small world....Paul is working on this project, in licensing job at Sony. He says there is WAY more to come but if he told you he'd have to shoot you.
It is so funny to hear Paul talk about it, because he is so totally clueless what the pull is to these games. Well, I can tell ya first hand that they are a "perfect" world that you get to control everything in and that there is much sucess and enjoyment to that for some people.

Like me and Wilson. I hope that we will get something for him being there, maybe a play station left over or something like that...he gave me the employee price list the other day, it was 5 pages long with really little font so I didn't even start to look at it. Once I get into it I'm afraid I'll be a lost cause. He told me the hardware isn't that great a discount but the software is suppose to be pretty good.
I love our PS3's one of which was bought to be the DVD player in the Den. It is so much more than a game system. The other night I was able to show photos from the wedding in the den, by streaming from my Mac in the basement, through the PS3. I also had background music coming from my iTunes in the basement, through the Playstation 3 and the sound system.
For all of these reasons, I would recommend a PS3 over a standard Blu-Ray player.
How funny that Paul is working on the Home project.
I can see how it could be awesome. I was thinking that it would be a great way for us to have a virtual gathering.
I am not a parent, but I do find it a bit concerning at some of the behavior of these kids online. Some of them are trying to be a bit too grown up for their own good.
I also heard a voice chat from some young woman who claimed to be 31. Not sure that I know what a 31 year old woman's conversation is like. I found her dubious.
I've only had the beta for 2 days, but I have engaged no on e in conversation, and with good reason. Even if spoken to, I don't respond, as I find I have nothing to say, and cannot force myself to do the absurd spelling that the young people do, which I guess is supposed to communicate some world weariness, ennui and generally being too cool for life at all.
I'm also not about to "make friends" with people I don't know.
But I can see the potential. I've had a lot of fun bowing, even though I'm sort of crappy at it.
