Maybe when I get my income tax check this year I can check into the cost of one of those places that comes in to organize, help purge, clean, etc. :thumbsup2

:rotfl2: I can't share this on FB because I don't want Tyler's dad to see, but Tyler just called me and asked "How many more hours until you come pick me up?" :lmao: I told him "Well, you need to ask your dad that because it's his holiday." So I hear Tyler ask his dad "Can my mom come pick me up now?" :rotfl: I suspect he's getting bored, but it's not any more exciting over here! ;)

That's pretty much what I've been doing. So much for my big goal I set last winter of having the house completely clean by the end of summer. I want to have everything off the floors so I can easily see evidence if mice start coming back in when the weather gets cold. The didn't come back yet after our major invasion a few years back, but I'm always paranoid because it was so horrifying to deal with and get rid of them.

I just don't enjoy being home because it's so messy and hard to move around, but too overwhelming to know where to start. Not anywhere near as bad as the houses on those Hoarders TV shows, because I don't shop and I don't have any problems throwing things out, but it's pretty bad and I feel like we've thrown out bags and bags and bags of crap over the summer and have brought nothing in. It's just such a tiny house and no storage room. If it were practical to store more in the attic, I would, but it's a ladder to get up there rather than stairs, and very difficult to carry boxes while climbing.

I guess Tyler and I can work on it together this week, but I also have to work on the yard to saw down TREES that have grown where they're not supposed to be, from me neglecting the yard so much over the past couple summers. One tree is completely blocking my neighbor's satellite dish, so I need to get that one down first before she says something.

Just too overwhelming.

Don't think about the whole house....that's overwhelming. Just think about one room at a time. Even one wall or corner at a time in one room at a time. Start small. Then it's not so overwhelming.

Awww.....he just misses you. How very sweet!

I love my husband....din din is ready.....he BBQed in the rain. What a sweet guy. AND it smells delicious....he's cutting the steak up as I type. YUM! He marinated it overnight. YUM YUM!!

Everything is ready, the steak and onions and potatoes and salad. I'm ready to go eat too. Cya later!!!

This is so cool, but I would never be able to live like that.

I love hanging out in my room because I have the verandah. That is just way too tight for me.

I call bottom bunk!!!

but you know... that looks kinda like Kaylee's inside room on Carnival last year...

Yeah, I know. That's what I end up doing, but then I finish a small portion and then by the time I'm ready to do more, that portion is a disaster all over again. I'll get there eventually though.

I bookmarked it. I'm a clutter person not a hoarder, but I can always get some good ideas from someone like this. Thanks for sharing.:thumbsup2

Tyler likes her "4 boxes" idea and tried to do that in his bedroom. We don't have any boxes though, so he now has big piles on his floor. I'm going to try to remember to bring some boxes home from work tomorrow and use the same idea in my bedroom and kitchen (the 2 worst rooms of the house).

Totally agree. It was really interesting to see their lifestyle though. I couldn't do it. I was clicking around on the types of jobs and found a sample schedule for somebody working for the stores. 8am breakfast in the crew mess hall, then work until midnight (with an hour for lunch and an hour for dinner). 7 days a week. I know they all work hard and long hours, but to see it in print was an eye opener.

Yes! But his stepmom took me aside and told me how bad it made his dad feel that Tyler wanted to leave early. :headache: I told her to tell him he shouldn't feel bad, shouldn't take it personally, because the older Tyler gets, the more this will happen on both ends, and that there could very well be times when he doesn't want to even come home with me for a couple extra days, it just depends on what's going on at any given time. They both said he was crabby all weekend and defiant and they can't figure out why or why he wants to leave early. My thoughts are that he's nervous about school starting tomorrow and doesn't want to be questioned all day about whether he's excited or worried or whatever, and knows that I KNOW how he feels and won't make a big deal out of it. Before we even left his dad's house, I told Tyler right there in their house that he needs to leave his crabby attitude right out in the driveway, and not to bring it even as far as the car, because it's not acceptable and I'm not having it. After about 10 minutes, he was back to being a decent kid. :thumbsup2

It sounds wonderful!!!!!! :goodvibes I need somebody to BBQ for me.

Had a great time this evening listening to Tyler trying to say humuhumunukunukuapua'a! :rotfl2: His funniest version sounded like "humu-bahama-mama-apa". :rotfl:
