No more leaving my windows at home open to enjoy the fresh air. We have a serial rapist on the loose and his latest victim was overnight last night 2 miles down the road. He broke through a window screen of a woman's home. The news just said police are warning people in the area to shut all their windows and doors at night until he's caught. :( Creepy.

UT OH....keep a bat on the side of your bed and keep everything locked. How scary is that! Stay safe and be careful.

With fingers crossed that the wireless modem left behind in Orlando in our Owners Locker leaps into life when we plug it in at BLT, we will be online by the Wednesday evening. Looking forward to seeing you and John. Will you be internet connected?

Yes, we will be reachable online. Just leave a FB message. It's ealier than trying to get on the DIS with my Droid cell phone. I'm not sure if we're bringing laptops, but I'll have my Droid so we'll be reachable. :goodvibes

Hi Deb!

I'm going to go and ransom my library books...:rolleyes1

then I guess I'll just do some stuff around the house.

This time last week we were getting ready for the storm.

They say we could get another 2-6 inches of rain from Lee... NOT good... :sad2::sad2:

today is the big party up at the lake at Northwoods... :sad2:& I'm not there... will have to see about next year... :sad1:

Hi Shell!!! Why didn't you make the big party this year?

The last thing we need is more rain. I already have the grand canyon going down my driveway....you have to squeeze to one side to navigate it.

It's a restful, lazy day around here. It's the calm before the storm again....Kristopher is coming to live here on Tuesday. EEK!!!! The boys are back!!!

Not up at the lake this weekend... kinda hard to go without a place to stay...

Besides... it IS kinda a private party... (I snuck in a few times... :rolleyes1)

No plans for the day....just sitting around on the WW site looking at Wok meals and putting together a grocery list. I have not committed to going back on the program yet, but I'm eating WW meals and trying to stick to a WW menu and shopping. It's even harder now since Tom is in the house. But he has been gaining since he's here and doesn't want to gain anymore. So we'll try casual Weight Watchers....no rigid program. I might not lose weight, but I won't keep gaining either. Then I can slowly start counting the numbers again and getting on the program.

Deb, sounds like a good start to me! :thumbsup2

They said he got in each home through window screens when people left windows open and unlocked doors. As long as I don't leave things open, it's fine. The news today said there are extra patrol cops out in the area. I've got everything locked.

I'm amazed at people who go to a sun tanner regularly in the summer. :confused3 There's certainly no shortage of sun here in MI this summer.

I still say you spread legos on the floor and keep that bat by the bed... (tyler will clean the legos before you get up anyway... ;))

I'm watching the MSNBC special called "Day of Destruction"... The best thing I can say about it is that I can see the hotel where we had lunch with Deborah in the background...)

I'm having a lazy hazy crazy last days of summer. Other than laundry and grocery shopping....there's not much going on. Everyone is resting after last weekend's exhaustion. Tomorrow we are having our official Labor Day BBQ.....steak, which John is marinating right now, baked potato and salad....just the basics, nothing fancy, but YUMMY!

No football on for me today.....the last preseason games were played yesterday. The next game is on Thursday night and it's the opener of the season. So no Sunday football on Labor Day weekend. I'm watching NFL Network to get my fill.:thumbsup2

YUMMM!!!!! Sounds like a wonderful meal! :goodvibes

My weekend was lazy too. I've done absolutely nothing productive (except wash one load of laundry tonight), despite desperately needing to do yard work and cleaning. I have to clean the guinea pig cage, and was about to, but got distracted by a show on the Bio channel I like, "I Survived...". Now it's late at night and I'm too tired to mess with it, so I'll clean it tomorrow. And I'll probably do dishes tomorrow, and will have to grocery shop before Tyler gets home. I'll try to clean, but I'm not too motivated.

We had a tornado!!!! :scared1::scared1::scared1:

Take the weekend off....you have been running around a lot too. Don't push yourself. Do it when you feel up to it. In the meantime, rest up and relax. :goodvibes

It's gray and soaking wet raining and nasty outside....not exactly last weekend of summer kind of weather. Not BBQ weather either. Fortunately, our grill is on the front porch which has an overhead protection. John can still grill and stay dry for the most part. It doesn't look windy so he should be okay.

I hate it when it's 8:30 in the morning and dark as night inside. I need to turn some lights on.

Jackie (I think) posted somewhere (the Hawaii thread I think) that DCL is going to Hawaii in the fall of 2012.

Who knows when it is going ?
And
When booking will open for Castaway Club members ?

Thanks
Jan

That's pretty much what I've been doing. So much for my big goal I set last winter of having the house completely clean by the end of summer. I want to have everything off the floors so I can easily see evidence if mice start coming back in when the weather gets cold. The didn't come back yet after our major invasion a few years back, but I'm always paranoid because it was so horrifying to deal with and get rid of them.

I just don't enjoy being home because it's so messy and hard to move around, but too overwhelming to know where to start. Not anywhere near as bad as the houses on those Hoarders TV shows, because I don't shop and I don't have any problems throwing things out, but it's pretty bad and I feel like we've thrown out bags and bags and bags of crap over the summer and have brought nothing in. It's just such a tiny house and no storage room. If it were practical to store more in the attic, I would, but it's a ladder to get up there rather than stairs, and very difficult to carry boxes while climbing.

I guess Tyler and I can work on it together this week, but I also have to work on the yard to saw down TREES that have grown where they're not supposed to be, from me neglecting the yard so much over the past couple summers. One tree is completely blocking my neighbor's satellite dish, so I need to get that one down first before she says something.

Just too overwhelming.

10/14/12, but it's not been announced, just that a TA has started a wait list "just in case". It showed up on DCL's website briefly and then disappeared. Some think their IT person goofed up by letting it on there prematurely, but I think it wasn't a mistake but rather a clever marketing tool because of all the hype it's created, a "controlled leak", just like the April Hawaii and the most recent Panama Canal cruises. :thumbsup2

Here's a thread about it: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2789690&page=4

Yesterday was beautiful, perfect weather here, all windows open, just wonderful! But today, same as you, gray and cold, but dry and no rain yet. I'm hoping the neighbors get home from camping soon so I can get their teen daughter to mow for me before the rain starts. It's supposed to rain all day.
