Ok how's this for a roadtrip?

I haven't quite figured out how to add Britain and Scotland to the map yet. And of course I can't forget my compatriot out in Ontario (Kathe) that would have to be added, but I think I got most of us covered (or at least within some proximity that could be covered). I also believe we would have to make a detour for Jill and Matt - just so I could be there to take a picture of the two of them when they needed it.

And I think I would modify it to go up the California/Oregon coast.

So who did I miss?

According to Google maps it is only 14746km (9163 miles) or about 6 days worth of driving.

I would do it when it isn't snowing.

Thank you. After posting this picture and seeing it a few times I now.... want back on Panama Canal cruise(with you all)

pixiedust: Your wish is my command. This time I'll make it to the OG party.

Someone on a UK board is doing a 3 month trip either this year or next.

This is her itinerary.

'When we leave Orlando, we are heading towards New Orleans but stopping at Florida City, Key west, Naples, Gainesville and Gulf Shores on the way. Then El Dorado, Dallas, Oklahoma City, Dodge City, Colorado Springs, Albuquerque, Flagstaff, Las Vegas, Bakersfield, San Fransisco, Napa, Arcata, Medford, Portland (Oregon), Seattle, Spokane, Butte, Forsyth, Bismarck, Watertown, Sioux City, Minneapolis, Rockford, Columbus, Winchester, Morgantown, Scranton, Springfield, Portland (Maine), Boston, Cape Cod, New York, Pocomoke, Virginia Beach, Fayetteville, Savannah and back to Orlando to AKL.'

I just couldn't face that, but perhaps if I was younger who knows.

My question is Rockford where? Illinois? Not to upset anyone, but why not Chicago?

You missed us. but if you change to go up the coast via 101/1 then you could see us too.

Yes it would definitely get changed. I really liked the drive down 101 when we did that in 2005. Would like to do it a bit slower this time.

I had a funny dream last night. In my dream, we were joking on here about me driving over to Gaylean's to drink with her. I said I'd be over soon. I drove all night and made it to her house by morning (yeah, I know, it would take lots longer). She couldn't believe I actually did it! Marr was sitting on the couch, which was funny because I didn't meet her and am not sure what she even looks like! :rotfl2: Gaylean had a candy business that she ran out of her home, so I helped package up a shipment of chocolates headed out that day. Then Jon found some blankets and a pillow and told me I could crash on the couch for a few hours and that we were all going to DL the next day. Crazy!

That's weird because I had a dream that we were painting the house RED. The outside. As Jon and I were scraping the old paint off a huge bus of people came honking by and it was all of you. You were packed so tight that your heads had to stick out the window. I think you were there to help, I don't remember. But here is the funny part. Jon's mom was there and she was telling me how much she loved me and how great I was :faint:

It's only 2182 miles! Supposed to take only 1 day and 8 hours driving. Funny part is the drive we are doing in March to DL is 1654 miles but is supposed to take 1 day and 3 hours. Only 5 hours shorter.

The drive from our house to your place is ONLY 2364 miles (1 day 16 hours) and we'd have to go via Chicago.

You better add some hours to that, depending on what time you plan to get LA :rotfl2:

I think it would take longer unless we just drive by everyone's house and waved :drive: :wave2:

That is a long trip. How are they getting around? Car or RV?

Well, this looks a bit like the trip we are planning to do in 2011! My goal is to sell my practice and home and buy an RV. We would homeschool the girls and travel the US for a year....and of course make some needed side trips into Canada!

Just popping over on my day off to say hi to everyone :wave2:
Hope you are all doing great! I have been having a rough week or so which makes typing and writing pretty difficult (you should have seen me draw blood the other day, yikes!), so although I have stopped in here randomly, I usually am not posting. Hopefully I am on the upside of this flare and will recover soon. Still getting ready for our DL trip in less than a month:)

I really don't know.:confused3

Car I think, staying in motels. I didn't read the full thread. I did read it when she first posted, but never went back. Perhaps I should go and do so.

I'm sorry you are having a hard time. I hope you feel better soon.

The trip sounds great. The homeschooling not so much ;) Let us know when you are here. We can meet up if you want. We could have another little meet. I think you and Nan and Ken and Shannon are all here at different times

Well if you took three months to do it, it could be relaxing. You would have to stay at one hotel for awhile. There a lot of places where there isn't much to see. I think you should plan it. Maybe with a cruise at the end of it to relax ;)

I think I would get fed up well before 3 months!!! As I have got older I'm not as keen on driving and then getting somewhere to sleep. I want more relaxation - unless it is charging around WDW that is!

The weird thing is that they aren't going to LA or Anaheim :confused3

It does look like some strange destinations.

Hi Kaylee. It is lovely to se you here. I'm sorry things have been rough and I hope you are getting through it now.
