Thanks Gaylean. I am not so sure how much free time I'll have on our DL trip...but I will be in the LA area a bunch over the next few months and I hope to connect at least 1 of those times. Guess it sounds like Nan, Ken Shannon and I should have coordinated better, LOL!

As far as the homeschooling.....it shouldn't be that bad....we will use the vitual academy so that they each have another teacher that they need to answer to!

Thanks Marilyn! I am ready to get better! This has been a long 6 months for a healthy person! I still feel that this is all viral related and I am working on building my immune system so I can be done with the flare ups once and for all!

Yes it would definitely get changed. I really liked the drive down 101 when we did that in 2005. Would like to do it a bit slower this time.

Maybe check and see if there are any MLK day events. Could be a good history lesson. Do places with snow do parades when there is snow? Since we don't have snow here, there is a parade today.

Yup, parades can happen in snow. There's a Santa Claus parade here in early December. This year it cancelled because the snow changed to freezing rain and it was too slippery, but normally it happens with the snow on the ground. Many years the Rememberance Day Parade on Nov 11 has snow.

Well, this looks a bit like the trip we are planning to do in 2011! My goal is to sell my practice and home and buy an RV. We would homeschool the girls and travel the US for a year....and of course make some needed side trips into Canada!

that is debatable....probably depends a bit on finances, but my goal would be a new one....someplace warm and sunny more than 8 weeks out of the year!

our DL trip.... 2/14-2/21. we are planning on being at the parks T, W, Th hoping for smaller crowds but I know it is vacation week for many schools (we are pulling ours to make it work for our friends since she is a teacher and can't take off during the school year....how horrible). I still haven't planned anything but once things fall into place I will let you know. n

Well, we haven't booked anything yet ... when you going?

I think I would get fed up well before 3 months!!! As I have got older I'm not as keen on driving and then getting somewhere to sleep. I want more relaxation - unless it is charging around WDW that is!



It does look like some strange destinations.

Let me put it this way, Rockford is about an hour's drive (or less) from Chicago, and I have been there exactly once in 26 years, and that was about 15 years ago. I have NEVER had a desire to go back.

Spring break for us is Mar 16-20 and that works with Shannon's work. Mine is pretty flexible .... Guess we'll have to stick with that plan. Too bad.

We tried to plan one this March and Deb and John and Lisa and Darryl were going to come but that didn't work out. Now it is just Ken and Shannon and everyone from around here. I should email Lisa because my kids would love to see hers. She hasn't been posting so I'm assuming she's not reading. Have you kept in touch?
