Prominade Fine Art Gallery on Disney’s BoardWalk Set to Close

Prominade Fine Art Gallery, a beloved fixture for 30 years on Disney’s BoardWalk, is closing its long-time location – but that’s not the full story.

In a heartfelt message on social media, gallery owner Joshua Segal revealed plans to reopen very close by, though Disney has asked for a bit more patience before the official announcement. In the meantime, the gallery will operate much like they did during the Covid break, offering online specials, virtual shows, and possibly even a pop‑up location.

The last day at the BoardWalk location is October 31st, before transitioning operations November  1st until the new space is ready. Prominade will also be back at the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts in January and February. And once the new location opens? Expect a huge grand‑opening party that fans can look forward to. Segal closed with sincere gratitude to his loyal patrons.

Oh! We will be there while it's open and when it's closed!

My husband and I taking a relaxed WDW trip in January - we will be spending time at the resort and enjoying the balcony. We would like a waterview and full balcony that is "open" (not a balcony where you cant see out because there is a wall instead of an open railing). I am confused about which room category would give us what we need. Do all of these have lake views and open balconies? (of course, I could get patio, but I would request a higher floor I guess).
-BWI Waterview
-BWV Studio Boardwalk View
-BWI CL Deluxe

Pros and Cons of the choices above? Are there any categories that I am forgetting? TIA!

I wonder...do you think they might possibly be adding another quick service location after the art gallery leaves? It seems like that's one of the biggest complaints about Boardwalk.

I mean, they have to do something soon, that will be three empty spots!

Not likely since the Wayland Gallery space can't have a full kitchen. It has the same restrictions as the now empty Big River Grill.

What were the restrictions on the Big River Grill?

Ok, I had a reservation for BW view deluxe studios via DVC (renting points) for Feb 2026, had to reschedule for August 2026 due to change of plans. My date will only be available to book next week, but the seller is telling me that as of today, no Boardwalk views available :charac2::charac2:

So there is a high chance I will have to settle with Pool/garden view. Few questions:

1. I was reading that a request for Village Green would be a good compromise, since it is like partial boardwalk view. however, how does DVC grant the requests? Pure luck, or is it based on the date the room was booked and the date the request is made? If i book on the 11 month mark and put the request ASAP, does that increase my chances? What about checking in on the app few days prior to arrival date? Does that increase the odds?

2. Any other views/requests you recommend? I don't like pool views. I have seen a few garden views where you can see the fireworks/hollywood tower of terror, etc? Any other requests I can make where I can see some fireworks and have a "nicer view"

So bummed. I love BW view, got spoiled :sad1::sad1::sad:

Not all of the Village Green Studios have a partial BW view unless you hang off the side of the balcony. This type of request should be made by the DVC member to Member Services. Timing is not relevant. It will come down to the room inventory for your dates when the studios are assigned about 5-7 days before your arrival.

There are about 35 of these Studios that overlook the village green, and they are a popular Studio request.

Sorry but no impact at all. Would your owner be willing to check multiple times to see if a BWV Studio might be available later, and update the contract?

The Village Green section of Studios are already near the elevators, and they all dedicated (not connecting to a 1BR Villa). The 2nd floor Studios are on the lobby level but they also have Covered / Enclosed balconies.
