If you go during hot summer months, do you get the water park option for one day? or is it just as nice to hang out at the resort pool for a day?? We've never been to either waterpark...are they crowded? do they serve drinks and food? thanks!!

We always get the water park option and we got to both parks.

They can get crowded and usually the crowd thins a bit at lunch time and mid to late afternoon as people head out after being their since opening. We usually hang in the wave pool, gone on a few slides, take the lazy river back around the wave pool and start over again.

There are a couple of CS places in each park.

Yes they both have CS as well as ice-cream carts etc.
In my experience the CS is not good - if possible I would have your meal elsewhere and just get an ice cream when there. I know Typhoon has dippin' dots and also a Margarita stand (if memory serves correctly!)

The only place where alcohol isn't served is the Magic Kingdom park. If you want a relaxing day I would stay at AKL.....they water parks can take a lot out of you especially on a super hot day.

Hope you have a wonderful time!!

The last couple of times I've eaten at the waterparks CS restaurants the foods been pretty decent but several years ago I remember at Blizzard Beach eating what I'm certain was the worst burger I've ever eaten. The parks during the summer get crowded pretty quick and start emptying out in the late afternoon.

To add the water park option to your tickets is $52 each. That is more than one admission to the water park, so don't add it unless you plan on going more than once or visiting DisneyQuest as well.

on our first trip last mid-june we went to bb for a day, it was fun but hot & crowded. some of the longest lines on our trip. turkey legs and pretzel dogs were yummy. next trip were thinking of skipping water parks altogether.

If you are only planning to have one water park or Disney Quest day you are much better off purchasing separate tickets.

If you buy the Water Parks Fun and More option to your MYW ticket it will cost $55.38 (including tax) per person, adult or child. It will add one WPF&M entry per day on the base or hopper ticket (but two entries on a one day ticket).

If you purchase one day water park or Disney Quest tickets they cost $47.93 adult and $41.54 child. If you are an Annual Passholder or DVC Member you can purchase one day water park tickets at an appoximate 10% discount.

This upgrade may be done at any Park (including water parks or TTC) ticket booth or Guest Relations Office. If it is on your room key it can also be done at the Resort Lobby Concierge.

(Note each person must have their own ticket. Even though it adds multiple entries to your ticket, you can only use one ticket for one person.)

Also, if you are planning to do three or more water park visits within a year there is a definite price advantage to purchase Water Park Annual Passes.

We have two unusual policies at the water parks concerning ticketing. Both involve use of a one day water park ticket.

One is we will allow full value of the used WP ticket to upgrade to a WP AP as long as it is within 14 days of use.

The other, which is the only time combining tickets is allowed, is we will merge a used WP one day ticket with a MYW ticket to add the WPF&M option and only charge the difference in price.

As for food at the waterparks, I think they made a change on the menus this year and there are some different things offered than in years past.

One thing to not miss at BB is the little bag of donuts! They are so good!

They do have adult drinks like beer at the water parks but if any beer drinkers with you remind them to drink water because beer and the Florida sun can be hard on you. Beer will leave you dehydrated and drunk faster in the sun.

Great information!!! I always hum and haw over whether I want to purchase a waterpark AP so this sounds a lot easier.

If I get the AP discount ($4 or whatever) on my 1 day WP ticket I am assuming that the "full value of the used WP ticket" would be the actual price I paid, not the face value of the WP ticket - correct?
