I called today to check availability for a Beach Cottage.

We are going to be in Florida next Oct./Nov. and thought maybe we could go to VB before we head over to PCB.

They even had one available for cash.

I reserved it. I have enough pts for only a few nts.

MS said my credit card holds the cottage but is not charged right now. Is that correct?

Should I pay cash for the weekend nights and pts for the weekdays.

We don't even really need a Beach Cottage so I might drop the whole thing. There are only 4 of us. I just really want to stay in one.

LOL!!! Me, too!

MS is correct. Your credit card isn't charged until the time of the stay. Whether to use the points that we've already paid for or to "save them" and pay cash instead is a personal decision. Can you at least get the member discount on the BC?

Hi, floridafam. We have stayed in the BC, and are staying again this coming April. Both BC visits will be (and have been) for four people.
We found some pluses and minuses to the cottage. The pluses include the awesome balcony over looking the ocean, and a third bathroom is always handy. Also, the BC is sooooo private. The lower front porch is awesome (there are actually four porches/balconies, all huge and all have individual attributes). All three bedrooms have individual access to this porch.

The minuses are:
1) The mega points, or cash required.
2) The BC is not quite as 'cozy' as the 1 or 2br. There is a lot of open space, and with four people it can seem a little 'empty'.

All in all, we enjoyed our first Beach Cottage stay enough to book another, even though we only have four people.

I have no idea how they will charge your CC.
