Just got off the phone with Vistana. I was calling with a question about something else, and they asked for my reservation #. They then told me we've been assigned to the Lakes section.

I am so excited. Does this mesh with what everyone else has been saying? Or was Lakes not considered a Sat. check in??

He did tell me on the phone that the Spas, Courts, Falls and Springs sections were FIXED. Meaning, owners buy a certain week in that particular section. The other sections (Cascades, Lakes, Fountains etc.) are FLOATING.

Hope this info helps someone.

Yes! It does 'mesh'... I am thinking that the Vistana map does indeed show some sections of buildings in Lakes that are color coded BLUE for Saturday check-ins!

If you have your unit number, you could even zoom in and see exactly where you will be.

PS: anything is subject to change.. so you may want to continue to verify your unit in Lakes.

Have a great time! :D

No, they didn't have the unit #. They only told me Lakes.

They could change it, but being that I'm only 4 days out, I bet it will still be Lakes. I probably wouldn't mind if they had to switch, if it were to Cascades or Spas. I'm going to be so happy JUST TO GET THERE! :p :Pinkbounc

I'll be at the Vistana in 17 days, i'm also a Sat check in..I requested the Springs since they have larger bedrooms, let me know how your experience with the Lakes goes....
Enjoy!

and I looked on their website again, and they list the Lakes 2bedroooms at 1,174 sq. feet. The Cascades is listed as 1024 Sq. feet. So it looks like I might get a nice big place.

They didn't list the square footage for the other sections. I would guess they would be a little bigger still.

Most of the time(actually all except 1-2 nights) when we go to WDW we are on-site. I don't know what I am going to do with 1200 square feet!!!!:p

We have stayed in the Lakes and Cascades sections before. While the Cascades is a better location as far as being in walking distance to the main pool and main area the Lakes is also quite nice. Its way in the back of the resort and you can use the Lakes and Fountains Pool (I think its the Fountains- my kids liked it) for something in walking distance.

You can also drive over to the main pool area which is really nice.

As they build newer units there it seems they keep getting smaller!

I won't be back before you leave!! Oh, I'm sorry..........I wasn't thinking your arrival date was that close. You are coming as we are checking out of Cypress Pointe. Drats! Maybe there is a computer that I could use somewhere.

Sorry about that. I think my head is already in Orlando.

Pamela,

left you a PM,

Have a great vacation and let us know how you liked it.

:bounce: Stayed in Lakes last year. It is great. Can't believe people actually drive to other pools. We walked to all other pools if an activity we wanted was at it. It is just a pleasant walk. Most times stayed at Lakes or Fountains pool. As to size, the unit was quite large. Enjoy

Did you walk with little kids from the Lakes to the Main pool? That is quite a hike! My husband did it before he realized how far it was..
