Ok, I am feeling better. The way that lady let into me was such a shock. I haven't had that happen to me since I was a kid.

I stood my ground. But if you are dweller, like I am, your mind plays the scenario over again and naturally I started second guessing myself.

You were fine - totally fine and I'm sure you knew that but were rattled by the confrontation. I'm not super-good in a crisis so I tend to try and think through in advance what I should say in situations like this (and I've had a few). My go-to now is "I'm sorry, this must be pretty stressful for you - is there anything I can do to help?" Said sincerely without a snarky tone, it distracts from the immediate issue and is extremely disarming. Since you plan to "dwell" anyway, maybe try to come up with one of your own.

Oh good grief. I asked a legit question to something I initially felt I was right about, but dwelled on it and had second thoughts. I was verifying that it was acceptable to do what I did.

Of course I cannot tell anyone not to respond. I said why respond when you have already said reading this and responding was waste of your time and energy? That is totally not the same as telling someone they cannot respond. If you don't see that, then we will have to agree to disagree.

I'm sorry a poster is being so rude to you here. You did nothing wrong at the store and it was a perfectly valid question to ask on this forum.

A dollar off coupon is a score and, if I'd noticed the coupons, of course I would have used one of other coupons scattered about if there wasn't one attached to the specific qualifying item I wanted.
