We have a cricket living in (or under) our piano, and his constant chirping is driving me crazy! Anybody have any ideas how to get him to come out? I'll happily take him outside to live out his days!

I've tried leaving the piano light on, hoping that he would think it was perpetually daylight. Apparently it doesn't matter.

I've also tried putting some syrup on a paper plate, hoping to lure him out. It's not working, either.

crickets drive me nuts, I think they should put them in prsion cells to the worse inmates

When he was still keeping DD6 awake at 10PM on the night before the first day of school, I finally got desperate enough that I pulled the piano out from the wall. Sure enough, the HUGEST cricket I've ever seen was under there. I have NO idea what he was living on. Do crickets eat dust bunnies?

The cricket, of course, immediately scurried back under the piano. So I yelled for DD13, and between the two of us we pulled the piano out farther, and she captured the cricket under a cup. She (the vegetarian) begged me not to hurt him. I took him outside, where maybe his incessant chirping will actually attract a mate. Good luck and good riddance to him, is all I can say. We now have peace in the house.

Agggg, I am with you! I have a cricket in my bathroom that is driving me crazy. I swear he is smart. He gets me up at night and he's in our sink. Just when I'm about to smash him, he dives down the drain. I turn on the water and go back to bed. Next night, same thing. I swear he does it so he can get a drink!!!

Funny you should ask. Try a Dorito chip.

This past week I was sitting at the computer and I kept hearing this annoying clicking sound. I couldn't figure out what it was. Finally after a lot of searching, I got out the flashlight and started looking down my air vents. Well, the day before my 2 YO had eaten Doritos in the dining room and of course he had dropped some. One Dorito chip managed to make it under the desk right next to the air vent. I shined my flashlight on the chip which seemed to be moving with every click sound. I nudged it a little bit and out crawled the HUGEST cricket I have ever seen. I seriously thought he was a cockroach......You should have heard me screaming!! Anyway, that cricket really seemed to like Doritos, so give it a try, it just may work.

We had to move DD's Anoles out of her room because we got a batch of Crickets that were so loud.

Most are fine but every once in a while we get hit by the noise makers and we can't wait until the Anoles eat them.

Bengal roach spray. Sometimes that's the only solution, albeit a final one.

UGH!!! I feel your pain...we have a cricket hidden somewhere in our living room. He keeps us awake at night, he's just so dang loud!!! But every time I go downstairs to see where he's at and KILL HIM, he shuts up so I can't locate the sound. And I'll wait forever for him to start again....nope, he'll stay quiet until I go back upstairs. Grrrrrr.....

OMG, I thought we were the only ones to get crickets in the house. Right now we have 2, one in the bathroom and one in the den. They are driving us crazy. I saw the one in the bathroom yesterday, but by the time I got something to throw on it, it went to hide. He's sooo loud and being he's in the bathroom he echo's.Our crickets must feel very much "at home", they don't stop making noise when the light goes on or if we make noise.

if you all want to draw them out into the open put a sodacap filled with water and a another with a slice of fruit and they will start to hang around that area.

If you want to kill them put it in a bigger jar or dish with a way for them to get in and not out and they will drown themselves.
