Not sure. Someone posted a list of the states a few pages back. I just know Kansas did not get one......don't think Michigan did either.

Michigan was a no go on the raise. Although I was looking at snagajob.com the other day they are advertising the higher rate for Michigan. I am thinking of emailing and 'complaining' that they are offering the higher rate for new people but not existing people!!!!

New hires are getting paid more??

I was in Walmart in Centereach, Long Island yesterday and someone was doing the Diet Pepsi Jazz/MLB event. I did this one last year..it was my first event ;) Anyway, whomever it was, girl you need to perk up!!! I didn't see anyone at the table the entire time I was there and I kind of felt sorry for her. :goodvibes

What do you mean by "just opened up"? I know we are in the same general area and I've seen them around here for quite some time. I thought you might have meant for off date, but mine aren't coming up for off date, yet. Maybe they just added more cities closer to you?

It appears to be so. When I origianlly applied for this (March '06) I went to the snagajob site and it was listed as the $70 for 5 hours. I went back there to look around some the other day and it was saying $85 for 5 hours. So it looks like new hires may be getting more....or it is deceptively worded. I have to get a little time and energy and email my coordinator and ask about that. It just does not seem fair!

cynjam - We've only had three Coppertone events around here within 40 miles. The 5/5 at several stores and 5/13 & 6/2 at one store. Tonight was the first time multiple cities/locations have been available since the 5/5 event. Unless someone grabbed it before I logged on, the only WM not listed for 6/30 is the one who had the 5/13 & 6/2 event.

Splash - What did you do with the tri-fold for Asian/Red Baron? I'm doing that tomorrow and don't see any way to fit this on top of the table or microwave. :confused3

I just checked 100 miles from my zip to find what you were talking about. (Funny how cities so close do things so differently) Anyhow, I found K-mart, Pick-N-Save, and Target stores listed for SPi. Normally, they are only with TMT. I know the last time I spoke with my TMT coordinator I mentioned booking a K-mart with SPi and she was surprised. Apparently, even though they are both agencies within MC they are still competitors. She wasn't very happy.

I forgot to tell you, I ditched Julie on Sat., stuck the piece with a picture of the product in the bottom edge of the table.
Only, I didn't have any pizza to sample, and don't try the won tons in the microwave, the center turns black.
Yeah, I know you asked Splsh. Just my .02.

cynjam - My KMart switched from TMT to SPi in either March or April. Thanks for letting me know what you did with the extra cardboard. I'm sure Splash will chime in later. It's interesting to get several opinions.

I put the tri-fold sign together like it should be & ended up putting in on the floor next to the table with trash can behind it. Weird, I know. I only decided to use Julie once I saw she was on the front of the Egg Roll boxes & you have a chance to win a private concert with her. But of course, none of that ever came up in conversation with anyone. lol

I did my 2nd event of that today....and once again, egg rolls beat out pizza in favorites with everyone. Pizza cutter worked much better than the knife...and even on the egg rolls. I brought wet papertowels in a plastic bag to wipe off pizza cutter well.

Today, I came across ONE egg roll box that contained a 55cent coupon off 1 box. Sort of like the Golden Ticken in Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory. lol

I do the event again one more time next week.

Hi, I've been reading this thread to try to understand this job opportunity, sounds great! Thank you to everyone for their contributions.

Can someone tell me what an off-date is?

LanaJae Offdate events are simpliy events no one booked previously. They go "offdate" closer to the actual date of the event, they pay a little less I believe. You won't find "offdate" for any ST(super target)

Maybe some of the others that have actually done them can fill in what I left out.

ZanneMarie On snagajob I think it says "up" to $85.00 just because some areas are paid on a different level. We still are paid pretty well in my opinion for what we do. Of course pay raises are always welcome;)

I did the application, got a call from Jessie for a phone interview on Wednesday last week. She said no problem on the interview and that I should be getting a welcome email, etc soon. Here it is Tuesday and I still haven't heard anything from anyone.... I am so anxious to get this going, does anyone have info on who to call on this?
Second, after you do the job then do you have to send back the boards, etc they send you for the job? I know not the cups, etc, but what about the props, etc?
Thanks

Thank you, I thought maybe it meant that eventually a person could do the event on a different date, for example, if it was set for a Saturday, then if it wasn't booked, it could be done on a Sunday.

Why would they pay less at a time when they were needing a job to be filled?

I live near a metro area in Minnesota and we must not have too many people doing this here. There were a lot of openings for Coppertone on June 30, but all were the same date/times. I booked the closest one to my home, but there are 3 other stores participating nearby so I was thinking maybe one could be done on July 1.

This will be my first, I am anxious to see what it's like.

I am a newbie too. I sent the application 2 weeks ago. I have not heard anything. When I log on to their website I have an agency assigned now. I emailed them on Sunday to find out what is going on but I haven't heard anything. How long from the time you send the application until you get interviewed? TIA :)

It took me about a month from being hired with no word/further info until I finally just called them and they gave me my booking info. They have to book your first event and then you can book online.

Also, you do not have to send the props (posters, cardboard standups) back.
